At a glance
A hundred-year-old chutor in the late-summer sun looks like an illustration from a fairy tale. One where magical creatures live, time stands still and there are only happy endings. We run away here at any time of the year to distance ourselves from everyday problems in galoshes, with a basket for mushrooms and a smile on our lips. Nowhere is it so successful as here - in the ancient Lemko orchard in the quiet vestibule of the Bieszczady Mountains.
The name of the habitat was invented by a husband inspired by the famous TV series "Przystanek Alaska" in the nineties (in which the doctor moved to the end of the world). Andrzej is also a doctor, so the name fits perfectly. I am a photographer and I know how important it is to capture beautiful moments. I catch them as much as I can. Ropienka has been tested in every way by our kids - they can disappear here for hours, come back stained with mud, but with the widest smiles I have ever seen with them. For mud, greenery, ear-to-ear smiles and Podkarpacie magic suspended in the air, get off at Przystanek Ropienka.

When five years ago we stood in the meadow, which led in a green carpet to two wooden cottages, I thought this was exactly what the illustrations of the most beautiful children's fairy tales looked like. Mist hanging over the grass, sunlight glinting on the pond, magic in the air. The place cast a spell on us, and we bought a homestead dating back to the beginning of the last century. Buying the homestead wasn't easy, though—we had to become farmers, get permission from the National Support Center for the Rehabilitation of Nature (KOWR), and wait several months for decisions. Ropienka introduced us to the term "eternal renovation," rubber boots, and a lawnmower, but also to the fact that time flows slower and more beautifully here. That you don't need a TV or internet to relax. That the air can smell good, and you can wake up refreshed after a night. And that there are millions of stars in the sky, which we promised ourselves we would count someday. Because we have time. Although we don't live in Ropienka permanently, we are drawn here at any time. Every season is magical, and we're close to the mountains and the forest. Believe us, you can relax and catch some distance here.
