We built a house in Rykowisko in the idyllic village of Pasieki on the edge of the Białowieża Forest in 2009. We had bought the estate with a wooden and brick ruin a few years earlier, but we had been thinking for a long time about what kind of house should be built here. In order not to make reckless decisions, and at the same time to be able to live in this magical place, we have brought from Germany...a circus car.

Living in a wagon delighted us so much that the number of wagons increased to three, and the design of the house matured peacefully and without haste. We looked at hundreds of photos, read everything that we had in hand about the architecture of Podlasie, we also found "obsessed" architects. It paid off: the carriages have become an extraordinary attraction, and our beloved HOME, which we also share with our guests, wins over hearts! The biggest compliment we heard was that it looked as if it had been standing here forever.

A magical farm has been created in Pasieki: a blue house from Podlasie, romantic circus cars, and an old orchard, a garden that becomes more beautiful every year, a swimming pool, a house for children. And above all, the forest and its inhabitants: there is no better place for deer watching (they can be heard even in the bedroom of the house, and in the carts, you have the impression that they are right at the door), mushroom pickers will be like in paradise, bird lovers can observe them from the terrace (we are visited by lesser spotted eagles, cranes, hoopoes, corn crakes), in the spring you will experience unforgettable bird and frog night concerts here, a lazy summer will captivate you with its smells, colours, beautiful nights with a milky way, and winter with stars at your fingertips, fire in the fireplace and walks in the forest will leave you longing ...

Germanist, cultural expert and translator of German literature, in love with Eastern Poland and Ukraine. For years I have been dividing my life between Warsaw, Zurich and the Białowieża Forest, for over 20 years I have been organizing, together with my Swiss husband, literary and nature trips for German-speaking tourists - in the breaks between translating another book and renovating another house :-) The idyllic House on Rykowisko will be transformed into probably in 2026 in a private house, completely cool circus wagons will be available to guests in the Apiaries. Our other places include Uroczysko Hruszki and Dworek Rousseau, which was rebuilt from complete ruin and became one of our extraordinary bases. The Tropinka Association for Dialogue also found shelter there. Guests usually have contact with my sister, Magda (romanist), who takes care of the reservations and takes care of the aesthetics of the interiors, and with Michał - we also cooperate with a lot of nice people who make it what it is!

Gospodarze wspaniali, pomocni i z piękną duszą ❤️

Rewelacyjne miejsce - z duszą i pomysłem. Zadowoleni i dorośli i dzieci. Wóz Grock pięknie i praktycznie urządzony.

Nasza niespełna dwuletnia córeczka bawiła się dobrze w każdym zakamarku wozu, lecz najbardziej do gustu przypadły jej schody ;) - wchodzenie, schodzenie, siadanie, le...

Ten dom to prawdziwa PEREŁKA.

Panie gospodynie przemiłe, ciepłe i pomocne. Jed...
