The Moravian village of Metylovice is named after the most beautiful representatives of winged insects, butterflies. In the 13th century, when the foundations of the village were laid, there were a huge number of them. But that's when the whole romance ended. The soil on the site was not very fertile and completely unsuitable for agriculture. Which the new settlers soon became convinced of. In addition, they were threatened by battle companies over the next many years; one of them under the leadership of the famous, legendary Jánošík.
The Metylovice reputation was saved only by the jirchář and tanner Bílek, who was the first to bring a craft to the village. It didn't take long (well, only about 200 years) and the belts and whips made in Metylovice made the village a good name not only in Europe, but also in Asia and the Americas. The insignificant village becomes a seat with a new construction of brick houses focusing on cultural and social life.
Today you will find satisfied residents and a gem of Slow Travel, surrounded by the forested hills of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy. Newer houses and original wooden buildings, a falconry, the Church of All Saints, 9 crosses, 6 chapels and 4 pubs are ready to tell you their stories. So listen…
A cottage stands at the foot of Ondřejník. Beautiful cottage! And in that cottage there are 5 apartments, a sauna, a sitting area with a wine cellar, and it also has a garden. And the private COOLna cottage crouches like a mushroom in the grass in the garden. Well, just a fairy tale. Beskydy fairy tale.
In our cottage Kamenná stráň, you can rent one of the apartments for 2-4 people separately, or you can occupy the entire cottage with your friends.
• SMALLER APARTMENTS (No. 2 and 4) consist of one room with a modernly equipped kitchenette, a double bed and a comfortable sofa bed. The luxury bathroom has a shower and toilet. There is also a flat screen TV in each apartment.
• LARGER SUITES (No. 1, 3 and 0) have an entrance hall, a living room with a fireplace and a separate bedroom with a double bed. It includes a bathroom with a bathtub. In Romantic Suite No. 1, a luxurious, free-standing bathtub and bathroom corner are subtly located right in the bedroom. The toilet is of course separate.
A spacious, modern kitchen with a dining table is connected to the living room. In the living room, you can relax by the fireplace or TV on the comfortable sofa bed, or relax on the terrace with a coffee or a glass of wine and enjoy the wonderful view of the mountains.
• COOLna is a stylish cottage for 2, approx. 20m from the main building. It consists of one wonderfully bright room where you will find an equipped kitchen, a large dining table, a TV, a sitting area by the fireplace and a double bed. Social facilities are located on the ground floor of the Kamenná stráň cottage.
After all-day trips in the Beskydy Mountains, the INFRA SAUNA, located in the basement of the cottage for our guests, will surely come in handy. It is followed by a relaxation room and a well-stocked wine cellar. Here you can sit in peace with your friends. But if you prefer to be in the air, our GARDEN behind the house is at your disposal.
The Beskydy Mountains are definitely worth exploring not only on foot, but also by bike and skis. You can store all sports equipment in our bicycle / ski storage room.
Each apartment is equipped with a kitchenette where you will find everything you need for cooking. And also a dishwasher so that you can spend your Slow Travel holiday in nature, not at the sink.
Larger apartments have kitchens connected to the living area. There is a free-standing dining table, and you can also enjoy your morning coffee on the private terrace.
The smaller apartments have a smaller dining table with bar stools. In the summer months, however, you can diversify your breakfast and lunch with a picnic in our garden.
We have good news for sports enthusiasts. In the surroundings there are wonderful cycle paths, hiking trails, slopes of various difficulties and cross-country tracks. In the nearby golf & in the Ostravice ski resort, you can enjoy sports in winter and summer.
WELLNESS COTTAGE IN BESKYDE (SAUNA, Whirlpool, POOL)
If you accidentally overdo it with the activity, remember that we have an infrared sauna with a relaxation area at the cottage. It regenerates the muscles once or twice and you can continue exercising the next day. An outdoor hot tub will help you relax in the evening, and in the summer you can cool off all day in our pool.
ACCOMMODATION IN THE MOUNTAINS
It is less than 6.5 km from the cottage to the top of Ondřejník mountain. Connect to the Na Vyhlídka forest path. Here you can take a short walk and have fun at 10 stations with interactive elements for children (and adults), viewpoints on a tree, hammocks or a cloud atlas. Information boards about the fauna and flora in the vicinity of Ondřejník are located by the trail. On the way to the top, you will also meet a self-service forest bar, so don't be shy to treat yourself to a drink. At the top, Roubenka Ondřejníček awaits you with a refreshment room and a children's playground, where you can relax before heading back home.
If you are a fan of the anarchist rioter Petr Bezruč, visit his log cabin. The Silesian Regional Museum has kept the interior of the log cabin in its original form, which was designed by the poet himself. You can thus walk in his footsteps and touch the past of the Beskydy Mountains, which are so closely connected with his work. There is also a woodshed in close proximity to the log cabin, in which the museum's exposition can be seen.
What’s there for children?
The forests under Ondřejník are known for their breathtaking natural scenery, blueberry groves and a wonderful view of the landscape. You can go mushroom hunting together, observe wild animals or just relax from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The Beskydy Mountains are ideal for trips with children. You can go "on the bear's paws", which are color-marked routes, also suitable for children. For example, you can handle the green "hare" trail even with a stroller.
In the summer, you can go to the nearby swimming pools with your children. The closest one is located in Frýdlant nad Ostravicí. But if you prefer a place where you can frolic in chemical-free water, we recommend the beautiful Bečva biotope, where water purification is the concern of cleverly planted aquatic plants. Or simply stay with us in the garden!
