This is the De Lux Base. Nature takes the lead here: mountains, wind, treetops and amazing views. For us, the asylum surrounded by mountain nature beats the splendor of five-star hotels - without a doubt. But we also know that the reception of beautiful landscapes and relaxation after mountain expeditions complete first-class interiors. Is there a risk that you will feel too good in them and you will not want to go on the trail? Yes. But we have faith in you and we have decided to take it. However, if you become too attached to the bizarre objects that you find here, it's a revelation: you can come home with them. Because Baza Tlen is also the showroom of @bizzarium, a wintydżem store that Magda runs passionately.
In general, the matter is simple: we live here in Zachełmie, because this is our place on Earth. This village has a spark: it used to be called Saalberg and at the beginning of the 20th century it was visited not only by mountain hikers, but also by artists from Wrocław, Dresden and Berlin. Here lived the Berlin poet Christian Saalberg; scientist Alferd Wilm, who patented duralumin in 1906, and composer Ludomir Różycki. If you like such stories, you'll like them with us. We don't have internet but we have huge windows overlooking the trees. And instead of watching TV, you can just listen to the story of Zacchaeus in the Old Remiz downstairs. Put yourself in our base and take the deepest breaths in a long time.
In one of our 50m2 houses that make up the Oxygen Base. Each of them is fully equipped and ready for your arrival. On the ground floor there is a living room with a kitchenette, a bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom. There are two single beds on the mezzanine.
You will be most comfortable if you come to us for 4 people, but if necessary, you can fit up to 6 people in the house (the sofa in the living room is foldable). If you would like to come only for two, please ask us for a special offer.
You can visit the Base all year round, we have both heating and air conditioning.
And just in case: we have everything you may need during your trip. There are towels, hair dryer, iron and ironing board.
Baza Tlen is also a vintage showroom of our @bizzarium. We love good vintage and we want to share this passion with our guests. In the houses you will find real gems of applied art of the past century. We know that you can fall in love with such items, so you can buy each of them! In his place, @bizzarium will find a worthy successor.
And a few more words about Zachełmie, in which we belong. It is an unusual place with a deeply inscribed tradition of a summer resort. Already at the beginning of the 20th century, mountain hiking and winter sports enthusiasts from Wrocław, Dresden and Berlin were numerous. Today, Zachełmie is an extremely charming and peaceful village. It is a pleasant alternative to the commercial and tourist-overloaded "capitals" of Karpacz and Szklarska Poręba.
The village is surrounded by the walking routes of the Seven Hills Route and the singletracks of the Giant Bicycle Range.
The climate in this area is friendly and the nature is beautiful.
We do not prepare meals for you, but a well-equipped kitchen awaits you. You will find there a coffee machine, electric kettle, water jug with a Dafi filter, toaster, induction hob, dishwasher, cutlery, cooking utensils. There is no oven.
There are two hotels in Zachełmie with their own restaurants and a bar - you can go there for a meal or an evening feast.
We see it this way: you can come to us for an intimate holiday surrounded by nature, but you can also treat the Tlen Base as a base (sic!) for local trips.
In the first case, you leave your car in our car park and get back in only on the day of departure. During your holiday, you walk around the area around Zachełmie (we recommend a hike to Chojnik Castle: an hour; a trip along the Trail of the Seven Hills: two hours; or a walk to the Podgórna Waterfall: less than an hour), breathe in the mountain air, watch the sunrise and enjoy the company of people who have come to the Base with us. You can read books, play board games (we have them on site) or sprawl on the couch and think. We have the internet, so we can invite you to the latest tourist craze, WORKATION! In the second case, we indulge in the same pleasures, but in addition to enjoying the charms of Baza and Zachełmie, we also take advantage of the benefits of the entire region. And they are as follows:
- It takes 22 minutes to drive to Karpacz, 21 minutes to Szklarska Poręba, and 30 minutes to Jakuszyce. If you like the atmosphere of mountain resorts, we recommend it, but remember that it can be crowded in the season.
- You probably wouldn't come to us if you didn't like mountains. If your goal is to climb Śnieżka, Śnieżne Kotły, Wielki Szyszak or Szrenica, you've come to the right place. All of these peaks are within reach of a short car trip.
- One of the places we can wholeheartedly recommend in spring and summer is the Siruwia Japanese garden - Little Japan. They have a mini museum there with interesting exhibits and a giant playground for children. You can also eat green tea ice cream and drink Japanese wine.
– In winter, be sure to take advantage of the proximity of the ski resorts: Skiarena Karpacz and Skiarena Szrenica. You can also go skiing in the Czech Republic, where you can find resorts such as Pec pod Sněžkou, Černá hora, Černý Důl, Rokytnice nad Jizerou or Velká Úpa.
What’s there for children?
Welcome with children! The Oxygen Base is a space that leaves room for children's imagination and observations of nature, especially forest animals. It happens that early in the morning a herd of does walks under the windows of houses, or a fox or a wild boar runs away. Creative parents will certainly organize time for their apprentices to go for walks and trips. We are parents ourselves, so we know which attractions in the immediate vicinity are the most interesting for them. Ask us about recommendations, we will be happy to share them.
For an additional fee, you can rent a travel cot with a mattress and a set of bedding, a bathtub on a frame and a table seat for a baby.
