At a time when the world was stopped in black and white photographs, and in fact it was juicier than it is today, at the very quiet end of Jelenia Góra, in Jagniątkowo, there was a pre-war cafe, confectionery and bakery Wennrich (Konditorei Cafe Wennrich). It stood long before the 20th century and is still standing today, already 150 years old. When we found her after a long time of searching for the perfect place, she was in a state of total decay. But what to do, the heart is not a servant. And ours killed right to this place. We dreamed of a family guesthouse in which the musical theme is jazz. It oozes quietly from the loudspeakers for the English breakfast, and on Saturday evenings it sounds live thanks to talented musicians from the area. He wanders around the bar, resonates in glasses of red wine, and sometimes makes him dance.
The guesthouse has become our center of the universe. This is where we cook lunches for you, Tim bakes a chocolate-chocolate cake, we sit with you by the fireplace for Polish-English chats, we advise you where to bike and where to walk. In fact, there is no need to say a lot, just go beyond the fence, because at the back of the house, trails, MTB routes and peaks begin. You can enter the Gerhart Hauptmann House Museum, you can feel like you are in Japan, you can soak your feet in a stream or take a bath in a waterfall. And then come back, have a cold beer on the terrace, lie in a hammock or eat what Tim conjured up in the kitchen. We invite you to all this jazz in Jagniątkowo.
Behind us, only the forest, trails, streams of streams and the Karkonosze Mountains are behind us. We offer the warmth of a fireplace, jazz, English cuisine in its most delicious form and cozy rooms. Although our observations show that the guests in the rooms only sleep. They spend most of their time in the guesthouse in common areas, with an emphasis on sofas by the fireplace. This is where the conversations with Tim take place, this is where we discuss, laugh, listen to jazz, and bond. The way we like it the most.
There are several relaxation zones:
the first - fireplace with two sofas,
the second - restaurant and bar (we do not serve meals to outside guests),
the second - in the garden behind the guesthouse with hammocks and deckchairs,
third - a sunny terrace from the street with umbrellas (perfect place for cake, coffee, beer, dry wine),
fourth - balconies and terraces next to the rooms.
We have 3 rooms and the same number of apartments (with two bedrooms). The offer includes single and double rooms as well as apartments for 3 and 4 people. Each room has its own bathroom. Each room has a kettle, tea and fruit.
Every day we serve authentic English breakfasts "the full english" prepared by the host, Tim. Tim is English and he knows that without fried eggs, bacon, roasted tomatoes, mushrooms fried in butter, and two or three kinds of bread, you can't have a good, original English breakfast. If you feel like something different, we will prepare an alternative, equally delicious menu for you. Scrambled eggs, poached eggs, or maybe an omelette with Cheddar cheese? I'm sure we'll figure something out together.
We care about good coffee, that's why we have Cuban coffee, and the buffet will always include juices, fresh fruit, and English tea (this could not be missing).
In the restaurant, you can have a Czech beer or other drink, order a cake, sit by the fireplace. You can also go out onto the sunny terrace.
Behind the Jagniątkowo Koliba, everything that is most beautiful begins - forests, hiking trails, bicycle routes, the Karkonosze National Park. All you need to do is get to us by car, train or bus and start exploring the area from there. After crossing the gate and going to the back of the guesthouse, you will enter the yellow, black, blue, green trails. It is the vestibule of the Karkonosze National Park.
You can also not move far, but only to the garden for hammocks, on the sofas by the fireplace to chat in English and Polish, drink a cold Czech beer on the terrace, eat a cake at the bar.
We always spend Saturday evenings with a glass of wine to the accompaniment of live jazz. Our friend Kazimierz plays the piano (the original 100-year-old Bechstein), who not only charms with music, but also with words and willingly tells amazing stories. The band Wir, headed by Rob from England, plays four guitars.
You can also come from here:
- To Śnieżne Kotły through the Black Pass (blue trail) and further along the magical forest through the Beads (rocks). At the top (1,490 m a.s.l.), you will be breathtaking views of the Great Snow Cauldron with a depth of 250 m and a beautiful relay station. If you have strength, you can reach Szrenica along the red trail and rest there and eat in a shelter. On the way back, you can stop at the shelter under the Łabski Peak for a tomato soup.
- To Rozdroże pod Śmielcem, where the green trail passes, i.e. the Path over Reglami. From here you can decide where to go next, and there are several options. Taking the green trail, you can reach Rozdroże pod Wielki Szczytem, as well as the hostel under the Łabski Szczyt.
- To the Black Pass under Śnieżne Kotły, where two blue and red trails intersect. One of them is the Main Sudetes Trail.

Riders can generally not get off their bikes. Under our nose we have the Giant Bicycle Range, i.e. MTB routes for mountain bikers, located in the area of three municipalities: Jelenia Góra, Piechowice and Podgórzyn. The paths lead through quite high mountains - you won't find an asphalt promenade here or a completely flat path by the river. In total, you have over 70 km of bicycle routes at your disposal.
