The narrow road leads past low stone walls, hills covered with modest vegetation and several more or less flourishing farms. A typical landscape for central southern Croatia. The village ends and everything up to the mountains on the horizon is filled with grayish rows of olive trees. A sign that you have reached your goal. And that's where the magic begins. In the middle of the olive grove you spot a wooden house that looks like a rancho. The only building nearby is a crumbling old church that looks as if taken straight out of a Tarantino film. You are aware that this is Croatia, but something inside tells you that you are a lone ranger. Or at least Robinson on a deserted island. There are dozens of Robinson's houses on the map of Croatia. It's not a hotel chain, but a trend described by the hashtags "getaway", "tiny living" and "off-grid". If you long for the endless starry sky, sunshine and silence, you can start planning a trip to Orkula Robinson House right away. The discreet presence of curious turtles, sheep flocks and the chirping of crickets only adds to the feeling of isolation from the outside world. However, our guests are not threatened by true isolation: all they need to do is get in their cars and drive a few kilometres westwards to Lake Vransko, the beaches of Pirovac or the island of Murter. All the beauty of the Dalmatian coast is at your fingertips. Enjoy the slowtravel at its best.

Here Slowhop will describe your place

Host:
Kresimir
My name is Krešimir and I come from Pirovac, a beautiful small town on the Adriatic coast. Experience a unique holiday in a small Robinson's house located in the heart of the olive's garden surrounded by 300 olive trees. Allow yourself and your loved ones to wake up in nature with the smells of grass and the chirping of birds and crickets, away from the city noise, traffic jams and curious views, and only a few minutes from the Pirovac and its beautiful beaches. In the immediate vicinity, be sure to visit the Vrana Lake NP, the Kamenjak lookout, the Krka NP, the Kornati NP and Šibenik.

Orcula Robinson House was created to be a totally ecological place, coexisting in harmony with nature. You will find it a cosy off-grid 40 m² nest, ideal for a couple. It is powered by solar energy, sufficient for house lighting, TV, wifi, charging mobile phones, laptops and alike. The water for shower is located in a water tank on the summer terrace and is heated by the sun (it also means outdoor showering, which our guests specify as very enjoyable). Fresh drinking water is delivered every week by the guard service (we have two tanks next to the 2000 liter shower). The toilet is chemical (we make sure that it is changed and cleaned regularly), and the kitchen appliances run on gas. We also have a gas heater for guests wishing to stay with us during winter holidays. However the ideal time to visit us is from late spring to early autumn (from May to late September) because we only have an outdoor shower. We have mosquito nets on the windows. We receive only adult guests. Pets are allowed.

The house has a small kitchen area with a gas stove, gas refrigerator with freezer, plates and pans to prepare food by yourselves. You'll also find in the house a special treat from us: our golden olive oil, that comes from our olive grove and wins medals around the world (in 2021 OPG Uroda has won a Gold Award at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition). Although the house has no running water, you shouldn't worry: fresh drinking water is delivered every week by the guard service (we have two tanks next to the 2000 liter shower). The water for washing dishes comes from the sun-heated tanks outside, too. There is also a barbeque oven in the garden, where you can bake or grill meat, fish and vegetables. If you would like to taste Dalmatian cuisine, please let us know and we will gladly guide you to some verified places in the vicinity.

The best time of year to visit our region is the early spring and autumn. During April, September and October average temperatures are the most pleasant and fall between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. If you like it more hot, come in May through August: the average air temperature reaches 29 degrees, and the water - 23-25 degrees Celsius. However remember that sunglasses and sunscreen are a must here. Our place will ensure you a wonderful relaxing time. No neighbours, a big garden by the house and the olive grove all around, plenty of sunshine and silence. There are loungers on the terrace for sunbathing, reading, dreaming and stars watching during the night. Just slow the pace and enjoy the nature. If you are ready to discover the region, Orkula House is situated quite close to various attractions - in just few minutes you can go swimming or sightseeing. Our top recommended places on the list are the Vrana Lake National Park, the Kamenjak lookout, the Krka Nationa Park, the Kornati National Park and Šibenik City.

Here Slowhop will describe your attractions. If you want, you can also fill it in or edit the text.
