The etymology of the name of the village of Objazda indicates that this place should be circumnavigated, bypassed and bypassed. However, it is worth doing in spite of the Detour, or even stopping for a while. Maybe the area is not like a fairy tale and resembles a lunar landscape, but distilleries were built in such places. In industrial corners, in the palace farm. This is also the case in our case. The distillery operated in the years 1869-1989 at the palace in Objeździe. For many years, cereals, potatoes and beets were processed into alcohol. After 89, for over 30 years, it stood empty, deteriorated and waited for a miracle. This miracle turned out to be us. Full of enthusiasm, unaware of the amount of work, with a dream of a charming guesthouse almost by the sea.
With our own efforts, and mainly Kris's forces, we have created one apartment and an apparatus room, i.e. a cafe (which we hope to open soon), to warm up. There is plenty of space for more rooms, but we have just as much work ahead of us. For now, you will be alone here - in an apartment with a kitchen, a bedroom, a living room with a goat and a huge, impressive bathroom. There will be a garden with flower beds, a terrace like the Acropolis, delicious coffee in the apparatus room and the sea within 5 km. And it's located away from promenades and less frequently invaded by enthusiastic beach-goers.
In an old distillery that operated until 1989, and then stood empty and decaying for 30 years. Finally, it found us, unaware of the amount of work - dreamers, and in this way it gained an apartment and a room (for now) and an apparatus room, which is a pleasant place to sit with a book and drink good coffee. We hope that in the near future the apparatus room will become a full-fledged café, or maybe even one with pizza from a wood-fired oven. Who will stop us from dreaming?!
We still have a lot of work to do, but we are already giving you a ready-made apartment in the distillery.
- It can accommodate 4 people in the bedroom (double bed) and on a fold-out sofa in the living room, which is as comfortable as the bed.
- It has a large bathroom with two sinks, a shower and an old, cast-iron bathtub. The living room is connected to the kitchenette, there is also a stove to heat up the atmosphere, a dining table and an exit to the large terrace.
- Speaking of the terrace - we call it Acropolis, and why? When you come, you'll see for yourself. We also have a double room upstairs, called the green room. The room is cozy, with a large window from which you can see the chimney. There is a bathroom with a shower. There is a small kitchenette right in front of the entrance to the room. There is also a large garden (fenced), a private beach, and right next to it are flower beds and a place for children to play.
At your request, we prepare breakfast baskets served straight to your door! In the basket you will find a rather traditional breakfast, something for those who like salty and sweet breakfasts :) We set the time in advance at which you would like to eat. The cost of the breakfast basket is PLN 35/person.
The second option - you eat what you cook. The kitchenette in the apartment and the room is compact and ready. In the summer season, you can pick vegetables and fruits from the garden bed. The beds grow lettuce, carrots, celery, cucumbers, tomatoes, beans. We also have blueberries, raspberries, strawberries. In the garden you will also find a place for a bonfire, and any time of year is good for sitting by the fire. In the apparatus room, which we hope will soon become a full-fledged café, you can relax with a coffee. There is a piston coffee machine there, which you will have to operate yourself. When we are there, we will advise you how to use it.
Just sleeping in an old distillery is fabulous. The closest neighborhood may not impress with its aesthetics, but the more distant one does. Słowiński National Park, cliff beaches, quiet coast, bicycle routes, lakes, lighthouse, museums, dunes. There is really a lot to see, where to sunbathe and admire the sunsets.
If we were to create a list of unhurried attractions in the neighborhood, it would probably look like this:
- The ditches (7 km) should rather be avoided, but the beach without crowds and obstacles can be found at Hotel Columbus.
- The beach in Dębina is more difficult to access, because you have to go down the stairs, but believe me, it's worth it! This cliff coast can be mistaken for California! The beach is beautiful, sand like flour, few people. And in the evening, from the cliff you can admire the most beautiful seaside sunsets.
- Between Dębina and Poddąbie it is even quieter and even more beautiful. You can reach the beach by the sea route on the cliffs or by the beach from Dębina or Poddąbie, about 1.5 km. Wide, clean and not very crowded even in high season.
- You can break away for a moment from the sound of the salty waves and jump out to Lake Gardno.
There you will find an observation deck with an absolutely stunning view of a large part of the lake.
- It is worth taking a walk on the forest path to the Orzechowska Dune. Remember to follow the marked paths, because on the way you can read the information boards, hit the viewpoint on the dune and hook the lookout tower from which you will gain a broader perspective.
- From here, it is close to the Słowiński National Park, to which the ticket costs 7 zlotys. And in the Park, you must go to the lighthouse in Człopin. The lighthouse is open in the spring and summer season. When you go to the lighthouse from the parking lot, on the right side, by the road, you can find a signpost for home baked goods - be sure to come. A local hostess bakes a cake, yeast rolls, bread, and fry donuts. It is worth gathering strength, because you have to climb up to the lighthouse first by about 300 steps, and then a little more to the top. The views, however, make up for the hardships of the walk. The Baltic Sea, dunes, forests.
- After visiting the summit, head towards the beach. Very charming and, thanks to its secluded location, not very crowded. Here you can admire the trunks of oaks and beech trees that were exposed by the sea before it became a beach, fragments of stone-compacted ground / peat and sharply cut "cliffs" of sand, showing in layers how the surroundings changed here.
- The Łącka Dune is another point on the agenda. It is Africa at your fingertips and the largest moving dune in Poland. Note, there are a lot of people in high season, so you should think about visiting outside the holiday season. The last parking lot in front of the dune is 5 km away, so you can get there by bike, rented car or on foot.
- Cyclists do not need to be presented with the EuroVelo 10/13 coastal route. In nearby Poddąbie there is a parking space with a place for electric bikes. In addition to EuroVelo, kilometers are great on a cliff, forest quay.
- When driving the R10, it is worth considering whether to visit the Izbickie Marshes. Amazing place, it is a rare representative of the Baltic bogs. And although the route is really difficult, it is worth recommending. Although it is not recommended after the rainy season.
What’s there for children?
Our daughter Matylda and son Gustaw have already tested the playground in the distillery garden and give it the potato seal of quality. There is a wooden house to hide from the old ones, two swings (for babies and toddlers), a sandbox, and in summer strawberries straight from the patch.
Plus, take the kids to the beach. The one in Dębina, the one between Dębina and Poddąbie and the one in Rowy, but definitely near the Columbus Hotel, because there are no crowds there.
