It is not often that one arrives at a completely unknown place and knows that one simply has to stay HERE. But it happened to Andrej. The beautiful house, which used to be a bakery, is (semi-) secluded by the forest. There is peace all around and deer and hares come here to draw energy from a nearby meadow.
The large, grassy grounds are full of picturesque nooks and tempting adventures. Majestic trees provide shelter for all weary minds. Sit under them, let your face be tickled by the stray sunbeams and listen in silence. Then you may even hear the stones talking.
When I first saw this house, I knew immediately that this was the place for me. I am a bit of a stressor by nature and it was incredible to watch how this magical garden worked wonders for me. Over time, I realized that I could not keep such a treasure to myself and I built 2 separate apartments in the house for my friends and for you.
HOUSE WITH 2 SEPARATE APARTMENTS
The interiors are designed to provide you with the best possible rest and relaxation. Each apartment has its own equipped kitchenette, seating area and beds with quality mattresses.
Upon entering the house, you will be greeted by a painted piano by Czech artist Silva Pechlíková. Her other paintings and wooden sculptures will accompany you throughout the house and in the garden, as her naive style completely corresponds to my life beliefs.
There are plenty of places to sit in the garden, whether on benches, French bistro-style metal chairs or comfortable loungers by the pool. And there's even more room to lie lazily with a blade of grass in the corner of your mouth and watch the clouds.
Each apartment has a kitchenette with a fridge, hob and all basic kitchenware. A coffee machine is also available for a pleasant, undisturbed morning. With morning coffee and a book, you can sit either in the living area of the apartment, or head out to the garden and take a comfortable bench under a full-grown tree.
I try to keep alive the history of our house, the former bakery, so you can often smell fresh bread or something sweet from my apartment. And I'm happy to split up with you.
There is also a fireplace in the garden, or we can lend you a barbecue. Because what would it be like on a balmy summer evening without the smell of baked cakes, meat and vegetables, right? You can stop by the Machač farm in Chřibská for meat. Mature Hereford beef, lamb and mutton in BIO quality is also sold in the form of a mobile shop.
If you like goat cheeses, I definitely recommend a visit to the goat farm Žofín, which is about 13 kilometers away from us. From March to August, fresh goat's milk and flavored and unflavored (traditionally produced) goat cheeses are sold here. And if you're lucky, they'll find some fresh eggs for you.
We are ideally located for all lovers of natural beauty. We are located on the border of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park, the Elbe Sandstones and the Lusatian Mountains. Every day you can set out to discover a different natural gem of our country.
ACCOMMODATION WITH SWIMMING POOL AND GARDEN
But you don't have to go far to relax. Our eco-garden covers the entire hectare, which is fully available to you. In summer, the swimming pool, which is filled with salt water with minerals from the Dead Sea, is sure to please. The pool is connected to a solar-powered battery that heats the water in the colder months. So you can swim here from May to September - but the border months are more for hardening.
Our land is located in a secluded area near the forest at Vlčí hora. When you conquer its top, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view from the brick lookout tower from 1889. You can't get lost if you follow the Kögler nature trail. There is no reliance on the compass when walking. The mountain is a former volcano and at the top there is a magneto, which reliably drives the compass needle.
On the way to the top, refresh yourself at Verunčina's well, which is said to have healing effects. Here you can relax by the basalt organ wall, which is reminiscent of the nearby Panská skála from the fairy tale O pryšné princezně. You can go there too, but it's a busier place for tourists.
WINTER IN CZECH SWITZERLAND
If he arrives in gloves, beanies and with red noses, I definitely recommend you to discover the Brtnice ice falls. The circuit, which is well marked in winter, leads from the icefall to the icefall, so one gets to the Great and Small Cascades, the dark orange (!) Curtain and the Great Ice Pillar, which can grow to a truly impressive size.
Go skiing in the Horní Podluží Ski Area with 3 slopes and the possibility of night skiing. This is a nice family complex. The Jedlová ski resort will please especially fans of boards, because in addition to 2 slopes, you will also find a snow park. You can jump on the cross-country ski trail right behind the house in good snow conditions.
SUMMER IN CZECH SWITZERLAND
In summer, it is definitely worth taking a bike with you. You will sweat profusely on the hilly terrain of Bohemian Switzerland, but you will see a lot again. You can easily park your bikes with us as you indulge in well-deserved relaxation. Those who do not smell the bikes will enjoy the dense network of hiking trails.
You can cool down all summer in our salt water pool (without chemicals), or drive to a beautiful flooded quarry in nearby Mikulášovice.
One of my favorite trips leads to Krásná Lípa with a stop in Kamenná Horka. In addition to the beautiful views, there is also a self-service meadow bar, where you can refresh yourself along the way without breaking contact with nature. You can plan the route yourself or let yourself be guided by the Kögler nature trail, which is the oldest nature trail in the Czech Republic. The route has 22 kilometers and 39 stops.
In Krásná Lípa, admire the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, the U Frinda house on Křinické náměstí and several dozen listed country and town houses and villas.
