Dobków is a super village and everyone who has ever visited here knows it. But that's not why we chose this house. We were guided by rational premises and bought it, because in the spring Kalina blooms in front of it. So if you come to us at this time, it is possible that it will also awake romantic longings in you. But not only in spring the Kaczawskie Foothills will treat you with delights worthy of the Land of Extinct Volcanoes. Yes, you read that right. It used to be really explosive here.
In Biała Kalina, however, we have a homely and cozy atmosphere. You can rest with us as you need to and at ease: with kids, with several friendly families or with one family, ready to make friends. You come to us to get the title of a certified explorer of the Land of Extinct Volcanoes and make a little money before you get it. You will have to go to ceramics or polishing workshops, see the closed Pear Quarry and eat your own in local restaurants. Without switching to one or two volcanoes, it is unlikely to be possible. And after all these impressions, trips, slow food and watching bats, you will come back to us to rest at Kalina. We give our word that these days will be unforgettable.
You will sleep in an atmospheric, carefully restored old house from 1879. The hosts live on the ground floor, and the first floor is intended entirely for guests.
It can accommodate a maximum of 16 people. You can come individually and sleep in one of the 4 comfortable rooms with bathrooms, or rent the entire property as a group of friendly families. The following rooms are available, all with private bathrooms:
- 2 2/3-person rooms, 25 m²,
- 1 room for 2/3 people, two rooms, 32 m², with an individual kitchenette
- 1 room for 2 to 4 people, 28 m².

On the first floor there is also a common kitchen room (16 m²), where you can cook meals and dine comfortably and without haste.
Biała Kalina is located 50 m from the road, but it is a municipal road with very little traffic. The house is located in a picturesque setting - immediately after leaving the gate, you can set off on hiking and cycling trails in the Kaczawskie Mountains.
Around Biała Kalina we have a large (0.5 ha), safe space with a garden and old trees. In a separate place you can make a bonfire, sit and talk in the evenings, and maybe even observe the stars, because we are located in an area with a darkened sky ;-)
You have to take care of your own food with us. There is a communal kitchen at your disposal where you can easily prepare basic meals, and in the village there is a shop providing basic products,
Our guests usually prepare breakfast and dinner, and eat lunch at one of the nearby restaurants during trips. There are plenty of attractions in the region and there is no point in wasting time returning for dinner.
In Dobków itself, you can visit the slow-food restaurant Villa Greta (approx. 1 km from us), and you can write poetry about the food in this place. If we were you, we would definitely go there.
Dobków is a really great village with a lot going on, so you definitely won't be bored here. On the other hand, it is still a village, so if your plan is to cut yourself off from civilization, enjoy the charm of the area and watch the grass grow, you can do that too.

Attractions in Dobków:
– Sudecka Educational Farm – an interactive Earth science center, where kids have fun at various workshops, e.g. searching for agates or polishing precious stones, and go crazy watching volcanic eruption shows. This place is not only for the youngest, adults can also learn a lot there. There is, for example, a platform simulating earthquakes in the Farm!
– ceramics galleries and art studios. Dobków is a bit of Lower Silesia's Lanckorona: there is an artistic atmosphere here and there is space for creativity. You can attend ceramics and pizza-baking workshops at Galeria pod Aniołem Bogusi and Agata Rudnicki, and Dawid Kowalski, who runs Przystanek Dobków, offers workshops on making wooden pendants from walnut and fruit trees.
– People go to Villa Greta for workshops on creating natural cosmetics (but also many others). You can make your own lipstick, balm or cream.
– And in short, because we have MANY more workshops in the area (ask us for details), you will definitely choose something for yourself from the rich offer. There are pizza baking, beekeeping, chiropterological (i.e. bat) workshops, mineral exploration and ethnographic workshops.
But man does not live by workshops alone. Did you know that we had volcanoes in Poland? Our Dobków lies in their extinct land. Before you start exploring them, it is worth taking a look at the area at the "Three Periods of Volcanism" viewing point. From the point you can see a panorama of extinct volcanoes of three geological periods. The oldest of them are more than 500 million years old!
Then we recommend setting out on the trail following the old explosive cones. Visit the Wielisławskie Organ, Ostrzyca with its volcanic chimney, Grodziec Castle on the top of the volcanic chimney and the observation tower on Mount Zawodna, from where there is also an excellent view of our land. Visit Czartowska Skała, Okole and Wilcza Góra (you will see a cross-section of a 10 million-year-old volcano there!).
Another important issue concerns cyclists - in the Kaczawskie Mountains and Kaczawskie Foothills we have really good single tracks. There are 9 loops designed for both large and small cyclists. The easiest routes are in Rzeszówek and Gozdno and around Ostrzyca, and the slightly more demanding ones run around the Dłużek peak in Wojcieszów and the Okole peak near Lubiechowa. There are mountain and electric bike rentals in the area (e.g. in Dobków, Wojcieszów), and here you can rent trekking bikes to explore the immediate area.
In addition, there are plenty of other attractions in the Kaczawskie Mountains and the Kaczawskie Foothills. It is impossible to describe them all, so here are the slogans:

For children there are attractions, unforgettable memories and holidays straight from an adventure novel. As we mentioned in the section about not getting bored, there is a lot going on in Dobków. You can send your kids to one of the numerous workshops where they can express themselves artistically and satisfy their curiosity about the world.

In any place where workshops are held (i.e. in restaurants and guesthouses in our region), you collect a printout of the Explorer's Passport and then collect stamps for conquering extinct volcanoes, historical attractions and geopoints of our land. At the end, explorers will receive medals made by local artists.
We also recommend the outdoor game "The Mysteries of Dobków" - for the whole family. There you will look for hiding places, solve puzzles, learn curiosities and practice map reading. The map can be picked up at the Sudecka Educational Farm or from us.
And in Kalina itself, there is a garden with plenty of space for children to run around. We have a play corner created with them in mind, and on warm days we set up a mini pool where they can splash around.
While staying in the atmospheric rooms of Biała Kalina, you will be able to easily switch between relaxation and work modes. The atmosphere of a 150-year-old house in the Sudetes will allow you to reach the heights of creativity, and problems with compiling code or an urgent report will be as insignificant as last year's snow. The rooms have a work table and each has an RJ-45 cable socket. In the common area - the kitchen - there is a table for 6 people, but there is a risk of disturbances from other guests.
