Sunny Nights started with a historical building - a 19th-century state coaching inn. Built on the highway between Riga and Königsberg, its purpose was to serve the needs of travellers. This is where fresh horses were provided, carriages repaired and wheels greased. The place where one could get food, drink, and rest on his way. When we bought the house, it was quite clear to us that its purpose will remain unchanged. After long and careful restoration, we opened the inn's doors to all travellers-by. Also we added some extras of our own: pitches for campers and tents, gazebos and rest areas, shared kitchens and bathrooms, benches and hammocks. And so the campsite was born.
We have explored the world a lot before this place came into being, travelling on foot, by bike or by campervan. Now we travel less ourselves, but we get visitors from all over the world. Pilgrims, bikers, hikers. Everyone feels at home here. We understand our guests, we know their needs. We try to help in any way we can. We create a friendly atmosphere. We don't have strict rules.
We're on your way - just drop in.
Sunny Nights is a campsite, a farmhouse, a garden and a DIFFERENT life experience in one. We are in Northern Lithuania, between the border of Šiauliai and Latvia, where a hundred years ago there was a stop and rest place for those traveling on the international E77 road. Also, the name Sunny Nights stands for a non-profit music festival that has been held on the campsite for the second decade.
We have been creating the well-being of this place for more than twenty years. We have allocated one hectare for the tourist activities, which includes places for campers and tents, a renovated historic posting house and a small hostel, as well as other buildings: reception, shared kitchen, terrace, gazebos, bathrooms, etc. The rest of the plot is our farm, where we practice natural horticulture, plant trees, produce herbal teas and natural incense ...
ROOMS. We rent rooms in the Big House (22 beds) and the Small Hostel (6 beds). It is possible to book the whole house or only the rooms. Both houses have kitchens and toilets, and the small hostel also has a private shower. Guests of the house can use the camping shower and toilet building.
SITES FOR CAMPERS AND TENTS. We have about ten camper parking spaces. Tents can be set up on the grass in the apple orchard; there are places in the sun and shade, with and without tables. Guests of the campsite have access to electricity, there are shared showers and toilets, washing machine, kitchen, wi-fi area, lounge, small information center.
We only accept guests during the warm season, from April to the end of September. Our reception is open from 8 am to 8 pm. We are waiting for campers and pilgrims, we also can rent the territory for various camps and educations. Pets are allowed in the camping area, as long as they are good with other people and animals (we have cats). There are restrictions on pets in the rooms - please ask in advance.
There is no age limit for guests.
We do not usually provide meals at the campsite. However, if necessary, we can cook and serve family handmade meals (dumplings with venison, pork, spinach, curd, mushrooms, etc.), as well as offer coffee, tea, non-alcoholic beer. We can usually offer this from May 1st to the end of September.
At the campsite, everyone eats wherever they want. We have a lot to choose from: you can sit in a large gazebo, at a long table with other guests; or join friends on the terrace. Hide in the gardens under the apple trees, or enjoy solitude in a secluded corner. In the evening, everyone can join by a bonfire - a place and time when the most beautiful friendships begin.
There are also various options for cooking. The large house and hostel have their own kitchens, the remaining guests can use the camping’s shared kitchen. You will find two rural food shops a few hundred meters away in Gatauciai; shop Aibė - in the nearby village of Kirnaičiai. You will need to drive to Joniškis to Norfa or Maxima. You will also find catering facilities if the need arises.
