Being close to nature is like having an anti-stress treatment in a 5-star spa. The only difference is that the treatment ends quickly, while our therapy lasts as long as you stay with us. The gentle gurgling of the stream outside the window, the rustling of the trees and the chirping of the birds can be considered relaxing sound therapy. The trusting Highland cows who poke their warm velvet noses through the enclosure, looking at you with sleepy eyes, asking for treats and cuddles magically activate the hormones of happiness, and the tension of the big city disappears. Watching graceful fallow deer unleashes creative thinking and satisfies aesthetic needs... Isn't that the best recipe for a weekend?
We are where the winding Virinta River paints its most intricate patterns, about fifteen minutes from Anykščiai town centre. The cottage is about 600 metres from our Highland cattle and fallow deer enclosures. There is no road noise, not even any other buildings around the house - you will enjoy your holiday in complete peace. We can accommodate from two to eight guests. Welcome to the Nature Spa!
If you have already heard about Arčiau Gamta cabin near Anykščiai (or maybe you have already visited us!), where you can watch beautiful fallow deer grazing through the windows, then we hasten to clarify: this is our second cabin, built about six hundred meters from the first. It is located in an even quieter place, because it is right next to the Virinta stream and further away from the village. Built on old foundations within the boundaries of the regional park, Virinta hydrographic reserve. No animal enclosure can be built on this site, but fallow deer and highland enclosures are not far away, about a five minute walk.
The cabin sleeps up to eight, but we can also rent it to a single couple.
On the first floor there is a kitchen with a dining room, a toilet, a bedroom with a double bed.
In the attic you will find two double mattresses with a window to nature.
In the basement there is a sauna, a shower and a room for relaxation.
We accept children. If you would like to come with a pet, make sure to coordinate it with the Hosts in advance. In the neighborhood of Daniels and Highlanders, we have to consider the safety and peace of mind of the animals.
Wi-Fi connection works in the cabin, you can come to us for remote work :).
The cabin is equipped with an air-to-air heating system, so the air conditioner will cool the air in the summer, and heat is left throughout the house in the cold season.
The cabin has plenty of space for communal cooking and eating. The kitchen has a mini-fridge, an induction stove, a kettle, dishes with tools, and a barbecue with tools on the terrace. We will provide firewood, and you can drink water directly from the tap - its quality is good. Six people can comfortably sit at the dining table, and in the evening you can comfortably settle down in the basement recreation room with soft furniture.
You can buy honey from a home farm in Anykščiai - Biteles farm (J. Biliūno st. 53), you will find the nearest food products in Kurkliai itself, there are three local grocery stores (near the main street - Aibė, coops and a store in the own house on Lanka street).
Closer to Nature is a place for quiet relaxation and communication with nature. The winding Virinta stream flows right next to the house - it is shallow, but fast and perfect for kayaking. If you want to swim, let us know in advance, we will bring you kayaks (for an additional fee). Swimming is also possible, but the shore right next to the house is not very comfortable. Especially for families with children, we recommend the beaches at the nearby lakes - Rubikis and Nevėža (about 15 km away).
Family and all animal lovers welcome to our fallow deer and highland paddocks (600m from the lodge). Both of them, but others are cute and harmless, they can be fed and petted as much as they want. How to find enclosures, what to feed and how to invite our beauties, we will tell you on the spot, but we can say right away: communication with animals relaxes and gives energy for the whole day!
You will find even more entertainment around: the Anykščiai area is rich in walking paths, lakes and small lakes, sculpture and labyrinth parks, entertainment centers and museums. Our recommended places are Labyrinth Park, Eco Barefoot Trail, Anūkis Farm, Safari Park, Horse Museum, Kalita Hill.
You will find books and board games in the lodge itself. It is possible to rent a sauna, which is located in the basement of the house (extra charge of 70 euros).
What’s there for children?
We welcome families with children of any age. Here they can enjoy a safe rest in nature and get to know the wonderful representatives of wild nature - fallow deer and highlanders. Both can be observed through the enclosure, fed and petted as much as possible. Daniels are timid, it is best to watch them in the mornings and evenings. Instead, it is easier to invite when you have delicacies in your hand: apple, pear, carrot, acorns, chestnuts or even bread (even better - dried). Bring along a treat they won't be able to resist, and the meeting is sure to be a success. Highlanders are much more friendly, they will come to chat themselves and they will also be happy to eat: like fallow deer, they like fruits and vegetables.
In the surrounding area, for families with children, we recommend the beaches of Rubikis and Nevėža lakes, the swimming pool "Bangenis" in Anykščiai (there is also a small pool for the smallest ones), the nearby labyrinth parks, the Kalita mountain in Anykščiai, the Horse Museum.
We remind you that parents are responsible for children's safety. Please be especially attentive to children when climbing the ladder to the attic and playing on the bank of the stream (depending on the time of year, the water in Virinta can be more or less high and flowing). We do not recommend swimming in Virinta for children, it is better to go to the nearby beaches.
