Pension Berdina does not bear the name of just anyone. Bernardina Velecká, called Berdina, married in the cottage in 1919. A small, large, great woman who lived in traditional costume all her life was also the great-grandmother of the current owner.

Costumes have been sewn in the cottage since time immemorial. "Aunt" Marie, Berdina's sister-in-law, was in charge. And apart from the needle and thread, there was never a shortage of plums in the house. Of these, plum jam was cooked and plum brandy was burned.

After Aunt Maria, a sewing machine and several complete costumes remained in the cottage. This allowed the new co-owner, Maria Rožková, to stir up her love of sewing. She learned not only to sew costumes, but also to wear them, thus renewing the tradition that the women of this cottage started more than 100 years ago.

Come and admire the authentic environment and love of craft, tradition and folklore. Learn to slow down, stop and enjoy - whether it's the South Moravian calm or the local plum brandy.

This is HONEST accommodation. In the heart of cheerful Slovácko with hospitable and cheerful inhabitants there are two rooms. They are furnished and have an incredibly authentic atmosphere. You will experience a return to childhood in the house where your own grandmother seems to live.

We can accommodate up to 8 holidaymakers - 2 in the room of Mařa and the remaining 4-6 in the room of Berdin. The creaking of old cabinets will delight your ears and painted chests will delight your eyes. The beds are also original, hidden under bloated feather spirits. Unlike mattresses that were born in the minds of today's physiotherapists. You will sleep fantastically, you can trust us.

I sewed and embroidered all the sheets, tablecloths and pillows myself. The curtains are also crocheted by hand. I have always enjoyed sewing, so I am glad that I was able to breathe in both rooms into their original beauty.

Each room has a private bathroom with beautiful antique tiles. You can relax in the garden with seating area and lots of fruit trees.

What kind of vacation would it be if you didn't wake up to fresh coffee and a good homemade breakfast just after waking up? We primarily use what has just been born in the garden and we supplement it with classic goodies. If you want, we can agree in advance what would please you the most.

BREAKFAST INCLUDED

We serve breakfast in the summer in our outdoor (covered) kitchen, or you can have breakfast in the garden overlooking the White Carpathians.

The outdoor kitchen is at your disposal during the day. There is basic kitchenware, a refrigerator, a microwave and an electric kettle. And there is a beautiful view of the church tower. We sell coffee, wine from Vlčnov, Navrátil's plum brandy and soft drinks from local suppliers directly at the pension. Since 1580, we also have the mineral spring Slatina, which you can tap. So you have a drinking regime. And when you're in the mood, we can demonstrate the preparation of some local specialties, such as God's grace, crap or sourdough.

TRADITION, that's what's going on here! Slovácko will draw you into its rhythm and mood. Music, plum brandy, wine, costumes ... don't be ashamed to try everything this region has to offer. It's a different world and literally an "exotic" experience. Traditions and folklore are not only maintained by the older generations, but they are bravely taken over and kept alive by the younger generations.

TRYING A MACHINE is not easy. After all, it takes you to dress in all the petticoats, shorts, ferrets, thighs, skirts and collars! But I'll be happy to help you with that. I sewed 5 traditional dry costumes for you. You can try them, take pictures in them, relax and have a glass of wine from Vlčnov with me. I will be happy to tell you everything and help you get dressed. Don't be deprived of such an experience!

In the same way, take a good walk and enjoy the White Carpathians - a protected landscape area, which is famous for its fields of fragrant orchids, endless meadows and beautiful sights. Cyclists can walk through the landscape in the safety of maintained bike paths, pedestrians can use one of the nature trails for their discovering afternoons.

Slovácko is a region of wine, so be sure to plan some tours and tastings. And also taste our local gastronomy. Go to the fair or plan your stay during a nice festival. You will definitely not be bored here.
