Chata z Kraja

You can find the wood-smelling Chata z Kraja in the Bigosy hamlet behind the village of Pewel Wielka in the Żywiec Beskids. This is a house that we built ourselves from the foundations to the roof. The house is our beloved mountain asylum, but since we do not spend every free moment there, we invite you to admire the view in the Beskid solitude. The house, although it looks small from the outside, has: – 70 m², – 2 bedrooms for 2 people with a double bed, – a living room with a fold-out sofa, where another 2 people can sleep, a table and a fireplace, – a well-equipped kitchenette connected to the living room, – fast internet with a place to work at the table or on the terrace, – a bathroom with a shower. If you come to us with 4 people, each couple will have their own bedroom. In 6 you can too, but then two of you will be sleeping on a fold-out sofa in the living room (but a large, comfortable one and with what a view in compensation!). Sometimes we tell ourselves that this cottage is better equipped than our family home. Here you will find such facilitators of mountain rest, such as flashlights or thermoses. An aura of home hospitality hovers over everything. Our plot is not fenced, so we invite you here without pets. Sometimes a shepherd grazes sheep at the bottom, sometimes skittish deer come here and we think that holidays with pets are not a good idea here. Przysiółek Bigosy, 2 km outside the village, consists of a total of 6 houses, of which only 1 is permanently inhabited. The rest are holiday homes. At a distance of approx. 30 m from our cottage there is another cottage and it may happen that the owners will be resting there. Apart from the forest behind you, grassy areas below, a terrace and a place for a bonfire, you won't find much here - you can rest with us in simplicity and silence, with the focus on contemplation of nature or trips to the surrounding mountain trails. ATTENTION: to reach us in winter, you will have to choose a 4x4 car, necessarily with chains. If you do not have one, we can also arrange that we will take you up, but you must let us know in advance that there is such a need.

We leave you with a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook comfortably. There will be a coffee machine at your disposal, and both coffee and tea are provided on site. In front of the house you will find a place for a bonfire, and you must know that such sausages with a view of the mountains always taste the tastiest. There will also be a cauldron waiting for you if you want to make some baked goods. We have our own vegetable garden, and whenever it's in season, feel free to use it. You may (but don't have to, a lot depends on the appetite of previous guests) find fresh tomatoes, parsley, chives or mint there.

Those who love the mountains will definitely not be bored here. Chata z Kraja is a section for those who need contact with nature, for busy people who would like to stop. For couples, families or a group of friends who want to spend a few moments together with a minimum of stimuli. From the attractions on site, we have for you: – a place for a bonfire with prepared wood, – lying in the grass and staring at the clouds or reading a book, – board games for evening dinners, – sleds for winter sliding teleporting you to your childhood, – badminton rackets for outdoor skirmishes, – proximity to the autumn forest full of mushrooms, – warming up on a pouffe by the fireplace in autumn and winter evenings. But above all, don't forget to bring good shoes and Nordic walking sticks to us, because walking along the Beskid trails is the main entertainment here. · The red trail from the Krowiarki Pass to Babia Góra takes about 3 hours and abounds in spectacular views. A more demanding trail is Perć Akademików (closed in winter due to avalanche danger). · The trail to Hala Krupowa is a great proposition for a short and easy trip, and the Tatra Mountains can be seen from the shelter on the hall. · The green and yellow trails to Pilsko from Korbierlow create a pleasant loop with an optional stop at the shelter in Hala Miziowa. From the top there is a panorama of Babia Góra and the Tatra Mountains. · The route to Rysianka from Złatna Huta provides additional attractions, because it is said that in the shelter on Rysianka you can eat the most delicious blueberry rolls in the Żywiec Beskids. Babia Góra is of course the queen of this area. Around it, there is the Babiogórski National Park with 11 hiking trails with a total length of over 53 km, almost 34 km² of forests, meadows and streams, as well as 3 ski and bicycle trails. Beskid Żywiecki is a great place to practice mountain biking. The route Złatna Huta - Rysianka - Hala Lipowska - Zapolanka - Złatna Huta is called a classic and a must-see for MTB fans, · The loop starting in Juszczyna (you start in the center, there is a board with the route description) is 21 km long, leads mainly through the forest and has a few steep climbs, which makes it rather difficult, · The route to Hala Rycerzowa is 23.5 km long, and the biggest prize on it is the panorama of the Beskids and Mała Fatra from Mała Rycerzowa. Skiers are sent to the nearby ski slopes. In the area there are, for example, the Pilsko resort in Korbielów, Mosorny Groń or several ski lifts in Zawoja and Zwardoń. And you can also choose from us, among others: – to Lake Żywieckie, – to the Żywiec Brewery, the Old Castle in Żywiec and the Żywiec Museum, – to the Żywiec Ethnographic Park, – to Mount Żar for an injection of adrenaline – paragliding flight with a pilot in tandem, – to the Mosorczyk Waterfall in Zawoja or the waterfall in Sopotnia Wielka.
