The oldest inhabitants of Bystry recall that there was a manor house in the valley by the Jabłonka River. For centuries, successive owners looked from its windows at the place that caused a thrill. At the same time, close, familiar and inaccessible. Today it is called protivka, a mysterious place opposite. More than three decades ago, when my parents - Jolanta and Tomasz, came to these areas and joined the construction of the shelter, our family began to learn about its secrets. Then my sister and I showed up and the shelter became our family home. Although the nursery is no longer there, when creating guest houses, we referred to its shape, and we want to share our secrets with each of you.
We named our valley Novosiele. Here nature bursts into the house, and the sound of the mountain stream chases away uninvited thoughts. Especially in the sauna overlooking the forest or in the bubble jacuzzi on the terrace where you can observe the surrounding animals. These are real mindfulness exercises that can be practiced in romantic duos, playful quartets or as a family. Come for refreshment carried by flowing water, natural, forest aromatherapy, star gazing and a sense of freedom that can only be experienced in the Bieszczady Mountains.
Novosiele is a marriage of modernity and idyllic nature. Wooden houses with large glazing, bricks and black elements have an industrial character. They refer to the shape of the shelter, which no longer exists. During the construction, we used old elements from the sawmill that used to be run by my father. We have added a homely character by decorating the interior with pictures and photos painted by ourselves.
You will sleep in one of the four two-story semi-detached houses. Each on the first floor has two double bedrooms with double beds and a view of the forest wall, mountains and the Jabłonka river.
Each of the houses can comfortably accommodate two couples or a family (there is also a fold-out sofa in the living room). When you rent a whole twin, you have a place to relax for a group of friends. Each segment has a fully equipped kitchenette, with a coffee machine, which you can enjoy on the terrace by the river or in a hammock hanging among the trees.
The interiors hide two bathrooms, a dining room and a fireplace. There is also a smart tv. The range is rather poor, but you can't complain about wi-fi. For those who want to relax analogically, there is a library with a selection of books about the Bieszczady Mountains, crime fiction and children's literature. Each segment has a private seating area consisting of a garden, two terraces and a grill fireplace.
There is also a forest SPA at your disposal - a jacuzzi and a dry sauna with essential oils that stimulate the senses. It is a unique relaxation zone that gives the impression of being suspended over the river, with a view of it and the forest, and the noise that can calm down and turn on your thoughts in slow mode.
Each of the houses has a well-equipped kitchenette that allows you to cook on your own. Then you just have to decide under what circumstances you want to eat the meal. Terrace in front of the house or the one by the river? Or maybe a family picnic among the trees? For those longing for the taste of real food, we suggest where to go for local meat, cold cuts, eggs, preserves or honey.
To make your mornings lazy, undisturbed by the feverish scrolling of the Internet in search of a recipe for something delicious or quick, we have prepared an offer of breakfast in the form of baskets, which we deliver to your door at an agreed hour. The food is diverse, it is a combination of hot and cold products. We have our own pickles and preserves, we serve them with a variety of bread, waffles or pancakes. Various forms of eggs, sausages, salads and cottage cheese can also be found in the baskets. It is fresh, tasty and diverse.
For lunch, you can enjoy barbecuing or lighting a fire by the river. We are particularly proud of the idea of an open room with a grill oven, which is equipped in every house.
This is the subject of the river, literally, because here everything revolves around our mountain, fast Jabłonka, with which we have several hundred meters of direct border. In summer, this means swimming in a natural pool, in the "deep". The less daring ones can wade their feet in the crystal water by the shore or set up a sunbathing camp on a rocky beach. The river is also pleasant to watch from the terraces which are perfect for meditation, yoga and all kinds of contemplation. In winter, walruses appear in the waters of Jabłonka.
You can enjoy a forest bath on the roof of a wooden hut, where you will find pillows, blankets and deckchairs. This is a great spot to gaze at the sky full of stars, as befits the area of the Starry Sky Park. From the hammocks hanging between the trees you can admire the spectacles of nature - the play of light and shadow or the dance of clouds. And when you feel like a nap, they will lull you to sleep to the rhythm of the river's sound.
In addition to common spaces, your home also has a space dedicated only to you, which is at your exclusive disposal, offering blissful peace and a total reset. A separate green belt, through which a path runs to the terrace located right on the river bank, and an open room with a grill stove.
You can use the forest relaxation zone for one hour a day. Our spa is a dry sauna with a view of the river, mountains and forest, and a jacuzzi on the terrace, in an open space, which makes a special impression in winter, when the area is covered with a thick layer of snow.
Our immediate surroundings are almost 2 hectares of land, so you will definitely not get bored, but if you feel like going on more escapades, the area offers wonderful walking and cycling routes. Here, in Bystre, you have at your disposal the mountains and the "Bieszczady sea", that is, the Solina Lagoon, on which you can sail.
A very picturesque forest path to Jabłonki leads directly from us. From there, you can enter the blue trail leading through the wooded ranges of Łopiennik and Durna and you can go down to Łopienka. On the way, look for traces of bears, deer and wolves. The second interesting path is the educational geological path running along the Rabski Potok Valley. Rabski means variegated, and during the trip you can meet salamanders. The path introduces the subject of one of the largest geo-attractions in Poland - Łuski Bystre. The area is famous for the presence of arsenic minerals in the form of vivid realgar crystals and lemon-yellow aurpigments. There are also Marmarosh diamonds, which, although they are compounds of quartz, resemble precious gems in shape.
The vicinity of Bystry is a paradise for active people. The first Bieszczady singletrack "Pod Honem" is located 15 minutes by car from us. The forest bicycle route is 14 kilometers long. We will recommend you many other routes perfect for gravel or MTB, because we have an abundance of routes for lovers of two wheels. Same as mushrooms. Although it is said that seasoned mushroom pickers do not share their spots, we will make an exception for you and reveal where you will encounter the biggest hats.
And finally, of course, mountain trails: the road to Bukowe Berdo, the Gołoborze reserve, the entrance to Tarnica, as well as the classic Bieszczady, that is a trip to the wetlands - Wetlińska and Caryńska.
What’s there for children?
Ride your soul! Here you can taste the true carefree childhood and live it to the fullest. Children from Bystry, like those from Bullerbyn, can devote themselves to exploring the surrounding nature. The Swedish ones had their own forest and lake, ours have a forest and a rustling river at their disposal. Such a natural playground offers unlimited possibilities. All you need is a child's imagination. Splashing in the stream, building rock structures - black scales that seem rightly designed for it, creating dams. Children can become ornithologists and look like buzzards, look for salamanders warming in the sun and traces of wolves or bison, which can be found even on the main road. They can run along our wooden paths, climb rocks, and when tired of their adventures, they can be lulled to sleep in a hammock by the sound of a mountain stream.
For the youngest, there is also a playground with slides, a swing, a net and a climbing wall.
Nearby attractions:
- a bison demonstration farm in Muczne, where you can watch the animals in them
natural environment
- a ride on a narrow-gauge railway with rattling carriages
- a trip by bicycle trolleys on line 108 from Uherzec Mineralne, along the railway route
over 140 years old (the views are great, but you have to drive yourself because the trolley
is powered by the strength of the muscles of the legs)
- the dam in Solina, i.e. the largest dam in Poland
Discovering Bieszczady with children also has its own amazing charm. There are many walking routes and attractions in the area that may be of interest to the little ones. We recommend Tarnawa Peat bog with wooden jetties, which are ideal for children, and a visit to the quarry in Rabe - its unusual landscape is almost lunar. With older children, you can go to the mountain pastures - Wetlińska with the Chatka Puchatka or Caryńska shelter. Unforgettable views, but watch out for the wind!
