When we are asked where in the Jizera Mountains you can slow down, curl up into a human pretzel on a deckchair, turn off the alarm, switch on the airplane mode on your phone, breathe in the clean air and see something beautiful, we answer that it is best in Antoniovo. You can admire the view of the mountains, absorb the smell of the forest after rain and meditate on the sound of a stream on the trail. Get out of breath walking through the steep village and not regret anything admiring the sunset from Boża Góra. Take part in the Open Day of the Upper Lusatian Houses and walk kilometers for pancakes in Chatka Górzystów.
And once you have made a 15-point trip plan, it is worth tearing it up and letting yourself be carried away by the moment. Have a cup of coffee, maybe not perfectly even, but your own. Eat scrambled eggs with mushrooms from the forest and a sandwich with goat cheese from a neighbor in the village. Take part in a mosaic workshop, walk a few kilometers for dinner at an agritourism farm, and in the evening light a fire or in the fireplace. You can, but you don't have to. That's how life is at Dacha - unhurried, carefree, without problems. Sweet.
Antoniów is a very quiet village, and we chose an even more secluded corner of it. In a green clearing, on the edge of Antoniowo and Kamienica, we built a house with a panoramic terrace. To the forest, to the mountains, to the meadow and yellow rapeseed in summer.
We filled the house with handmade ceramics, works by Polish artists, and carefully selected furniture and accessories. This candy can accommodate up to 4 people on 35 m2 + 20 m2 mezzanine. It has air conditioning powered by photovoltaic panels.
On the ground floor there is a living room with a kitchenette (there is also a fold-out sofa) and a large bathroom with a shower and a large window. On the mezzanine there is a bedroom with a large bed and a work space. There is also a terrace with a barbecue area.
ATTENTION remote workers. You will be very comfortable here. At the Dacha you will find equipment for remote work - a monitor, keyboard and mouse. Just connect your laptop and your home office away from home is ready.
On the one hand, the Dacha has neighbors - a tiny wooden house. However, to ensure that everyone here remains comfortable and intimate, we will plant trees on the border of the plot :)
Antoniów is the quintessence of Jewishness. Unique half-timbered houses, steep driveways, mountain panoramas, narrow paths, goats, sheep, trails just around the corner. However, don't be crazy about the range of possibilities - the Jizera Mountains will remain as they are. So take it easy and don't fill your travel plan to the brim. Make room for spontaneity, for oversleeping, for a long coffee on the terrace and a walk to Kwieci - Guest House for a delicious dinner. Dinner must be ordered the day before, so a phone call to Łukasz and Piotrek is necessary.
After a moment's pause and turning on vacation mode, you can start exploring the area. We recommend:
- go to the nearest forest to pick mushrooms. It's hard to look at your feet with such views, but something will always fall into the basket.
- Admire the stars from the backyard - a telescope is waiting for you at the Dacha.
- Invite the Mobile Ceramic Point to your dacha and create your own clay item.
- Rent a bike - we cooperate with a bicycle rental company (ordinary and electric) - you can order a bike with delivery to the Dacha.
- Enter the trail in Antoniowo and go to Stóg Izerski, Świeradów and Szklarska Poręba. Instead of walking, you can choose a bike, the route to Szklarska will only take an hour.
- Cool off in the stream you come across on the trail, which starts 200 m from the plot.
- Take a trip to Huta Julia in Piechowice and see how crystal glass is made by hand.
- Take part in the great celebration that takes place every year on the last weekend of May. The open day of half-timbered houses is an opportunity to look inside, see what it is like to live and work in them, and how they have been restored. It is also a unique opportunity to meet extraordinary people. In Antoniowo itself, there are several houses that open their doors to visitors at this time.
- Take your bikes with you and follow the “Ruins of Hochstein Hütte” route. You will find the trail in the heart of the Jizera forest, on the Gaik Pass, between Kopaniec and Rozdroże Jizera. Before setting out on the route, it is worth reading a bit about the history of this place.
- Take the yellow trail to Wysoki Kamień. The walk to the top is not demanding, and the views from the top of the Karkonosze Mountains and Szklarska Poręba are unique. There is also a shelter at the top where you can eat.
- Go to our Czech neighbors, to the charming settlement of Jizerka. It is situated on a vast meadow, on the right bank of the Jizera River, just across the border with Poland. The exceptionally aesthetic black and white facades of the local cottages contrast beautifully with the summer green and winter white. There are pubs serving Czech delicacies in the cottages, there is a museum of the Jizera Mountains and a beautifully winding river. While here, it is worth climbing the former volcano - Bukovec, towering over the meadow.
- Go to the Mountain Hut for views and blueberry pancakes.
- Try your hand at cross-country skiing at Polana Jakuszycka.
- Sign up for a mosaic-making workshop at the "Izery Gallery, mosaic workshops, regional design" in Kopaniec.
- Go to the Orle Shelter in the evening for a magical star show in the Jizera Dark Sky Park.
And that's not the end! There are waterfalls, mines, antique shops, the beautiful Czech side of the Jizera Mountains, the Land of Extinct Volcanoes quite nearby, Bolesławiec, where you can make the famous blue pottery with your own hands, the artistic Wolimierz, and the rock festival Izerbaijan. And many others.
What’s there for children?
If you're traveling as a family, that's fine. The kids can sleep on a fold-out sofa in the living room, and you can sleep in the bedroom on the mezzanine. Besides, we don't have crazy attractions for little guests here. On walks you can meet hares, deer, goats, sheep and cows resembling pandas.
What’s there for employees?
In our four walls, one has been transformed into a huge window. We think it was worth it, because now you have a soothing view of meadows and forests from almost anywhere in the house. On the mezzanine, which is also a bedroom, there is a comfortable desk with a chair. From our own experience, we know what it's like to be a corporate rat, which is why the house is equipped with a monitor, keyboard and mouse so that you don't get too used to the familiar working environment.
On the ground floor there is a table in the kitchen, and a comfortable sofa and an armchair in the living room next to it. Take your laptop under your arm and lie down with it at the table on the terrace or in a sun lounger.
