Once upon a time, the eternal trade routes crossed here and the beskidniks roamed, today at most a roe deer peeks into the windows or a deer comes to visit during the rut. At first, there was nothing here, not even an expensive one, and then, step by step, we moved the over 100-year-old Granary here, which will host seven newcomers. We live right next door, in Bocianówka. I, Bartek, will be happy to tell you about wood and show you how to make lamps yourself, and Marzena will treat you to homemade bread. However, we will give you as much space as you need, and we have plenty of it. Just like the peace that you can enjoy in a hammock or on a deckchair, or actively enjoy the walking, cycling and skiing routes in the area.
There is a panoramic view of Lake Klimkowskie, the Ropa River and the Homla range, which is best admired from the terrace or tub with hot water. In spring, black storks and lesser spotted eagles come to us, and the valley is bathed in the whiteness of blooming blackthorn. Summer is dazzling with the juicy green of Pantone and the red of wild strawberries, which taste best straight from the bush. In winter we have waist-deep snow, sometimes you have to put on chains to get to us. And autumn brings an abundance of red wine. We live here slowly and peacefully, in the rhythm of nature, with Lemko history in the background. Apparently, we have one of the most beautiful views in the Beskids, the valley bathed in fog in the morning and the burning sky at sunset. It cannot be expressed in words. Come and see for yourself.
In a forest clearing in the Low Beskids, among flowery meadows, there are two wooden cottages. One of them - Bocianówka - belongs to us, the hosts, the other - the approximately 100-year-old Granary, we are giving to you. The cottage is made of wooden amphibians and can accommodate 7 people. We found it nearby and moved it to our plot near the forest. It is perfect for a family trip, an adventure with a friend or a romantic getaway for two.
Downstairs is the heart of the house - a dining room with a Bartek cast iron stove that provides warmth on winter days, a kitchenette and a bathroom. The decor was designed by Marzena, who took care of every detail and provided an exceptionally warm atmosphere. I, Bartek, made the lamps that decorate the interior myself. Books and magazines are waiting for you in the cottage. On one of the walls we hung a rustic chapel made of an old log, from a cottage from 1880, by Piotr Jasica. We wanted each item here to have its own unique story.
The covered terrace in front of the house will give you an extraordinary view of the Ropa River, the beginning of Lake Klimkowskie and the Homla range. From here, with a cup of coffee in your hands, you can watch the morning performances when the valley is covered with fog. And in the evening, while enjoying another drink, admire the amazing colors of the sky at sunset.
Next to the cottage, we have prepared a place for a bonfire and a unique, hand-made hanging grill.
In the meadow near the cottage you will find a garden hot tub with a wood-fired jacuzzi and a sauna.
We recommend a relaxing bath under the stars in a forest clearing with a soothing composition of natural essential oils or brine, and a session in the sauna.
The soul of the house is the Bartek fireplace, whose flames will warm not only the cottage, but also your hearts :)
The kitchen in the cottage is cozy and well-equipped. A two-burner induction cooker, a fridge, a kettle, a blender and all dishes and tableware for serving meals are waiting for you. We haven't forgotten about the coffee maker. During cold months, food can be heated on a cast iron stove. In the dining room, which will surprise you with many details, you will find a table with the scent of ash wood and natural edges, made by a friendly carpenter.
You can also cook outdoors. We have prepared for you a handmade grill hanging over the fire and a hunting cauldron. You can mess it up a lot!
You can use our garden, full of flowers and herbs, as much as you want. Create bouquets and pick mint and oregano for salads. Nearby you can buy local sheep and cow cheeses, milk, eggs, and seasonally also vegetables and herbs.
For a home-cooked dinner, you can go to the nearby Klimkowskie Smaki, where you can taste, among others: regional dumplings - haluszki and home cooking. A little further, in Wysowa, there are Caffe Bistro Bar nad Potokiem (Italian dishes) and Gościnna Chata (Lemko atmosphere).
Our special recommendation: coffee drunk on our terrace. Especially when you come across the view of fog surrounding the valley.
Our Polana Radwanówka is an asylum where you can breathe deeply, rest from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy contact with nature. You will be charmed by the peace and quiet prevailing here among the fragrant forests and meadows and beautiful Beskid landscapes. You can often see deer scurrying around the clearing and listen to the blissful singing of birds. Here, life flows in the rhythm of nature, and every season has something good to offer.
In spring, everything comes to life, and the surrounding forest paths and mountain trails encourage walking. In the summer, he is most pleasant to swing in a hammock, relax on deckchairs on the terrace and feast by the fire looking at the stars. Our neighborhood is a paradise for those who love water. We will tell you how to get to our favorite spot on the Ropa River, and you will find a beach and a swimming pool at Klimkowskie Lake. Autumn is a colorful feast for the eyes, a forest full of mushrooms and fruits and even more peace, which is sometimes interrupted by the roar of deer in the rut. In winter, come to us with skis and snowboard. The area offers numerous ski slopes, charming cross-country trails and over 80 km of trails for cross-country skiing. The trails run along forest paths and meadows with views of the Beskid Niski and Sądecki ranges, and if the weather is favorable, even the Tatra Mountains. In the area, you can go for a sleigh ride or an ice rink. Children love the local hills, where you can go down on a sledge or more familiarly - on sacks!
The immediate area is full of attractions and places where you can go to discover and see something new:
• in Usiec Gorlickie is the beginning of Lake Klimkowskie, a recreational bicycle route, the Mazurówka Garden, the Klimkowskie Smaki Restaurant, the Church of St. Paraskiewy, park and playground,
• Lake Klimkowskie (in a straight line 500 meters from us, a developed shore about 5 km from the cottage) offers relaxation on the beach, the possibility of practicing water sports and tourist paths,
• in Regietów (8 km from us) there is a stud of Hutsul horses, there you can go horseback riding, and in winter go on a sleigh ride,
• nearby (10 km from us) we have a health resort - Wysowa-Zdrój, where there is a mineral water pump room, cross-country skiing trails, a swimming pool and SPA, and an ice rink in winter,
• Krynica Zdrój is a bit further away (30 km), but it needs no introduction - the funicular to Góra Parkowa, the gondola lift to Jaworzyna Krynicka, the tower and the walk in the treetops, as well as the pump rooms are the main attractions of the health resort, rope parks, swimming pools and Toy Museum,
• on our list to visit are also: Muszyna Zdrój (45 km) with the ruins of a 14th-century castle and magical, biblical and sensory gardens; Bardejov in Slovakia (40 km) with swimming pools and an old town from the UNESCO list and Grybów (25 km) with a historic market square and a brewery.
And it doesn't end there! The area is full of cycling paths, hiking trails and cross-country skiing trails. For fans of history, there are: the Wooden Architecture Trail, the Trail of World War I Cemeteries, the Crafts Trail and the Carpathian Oil Route.
The list of local events is also long: the Wild Tables culinary picnic, Lemko Watra festival of Lemko culture, Hutsul Days, Rydza Festival, or Innowica theater meetings.
In our house, Bocianówka, we are open to implement your most unusual ideas. Here you can organize workshops, create or learn something new. Marzena will share the secrets of baking bread, and you can tinker with me! I will help you create a lamp, table or bench. Just let us know in advance what's on your mind.
What’s there for children?
Carefree! Let's start with the interior - in the attic, there is a play corner for children with books, toys and board games. Our three cats - Maszka, Rysio and Panda, are companions in children's games, they love to be petted, and children often take advantage of this opportunity.
Outside, we have created a space full of attractions. Children can enjoy swings, a sandbox, a slide and garden toys. But above all, plenty of space, with grass and a garden playing the main roles. You can go for a walk to the nearby forest, pick wild strawberries and raspberries. And in winter, go crazy on the local hills, sledding down them.
For older people, there is a camping option, dinner by the fire and a night spent in a tent (we can rent it!).
There are wooden stairs in the cottage leading to the bedroom area, secured with a railing at the top, but you have to be careful with them
Let us know if you need a high chair or potty. We will prepare!
