We will not provide you with a hundred-point list of nearby attractions, because it is difficult for us to list even ten. However, we have old-school things that cannot be beat: fresh air, a view of meadows and fields, and only a few hundred meters to the lake. And the evening clouds look like happy dementors here.
The kids have a competition to see who can pet and name the most fallow deer, because quite a large herd of bambies lives just behind the fence. In the neighborhood they can also play golf or jump on the ski jumping hill. However, not having to come up with new games all the time does not have to be the only reason for adults to drink champagne. It's also worth raising a toast to taking a sauna, strumming a home piano or hanging upside down in a rocking chair.
So... take me home, country road!
Kociewski Raj is a dream come true about a house in a cozy, country style. Responsible for coziness include, among others: extremely comfortable sofas and armchairs - both those with four legs standing firmly in the living room and those swinging in the clouds on the terrace. In turn, the view of the meadows and fallow deer grazing in the paddock gives the place a rural feel.
What you need to know about our cottage before your arrival:
- in two bedrooms on the first floor there are 2 double beds
- additional sleeping space for 2 people is provided by a wide, fold-out sofa in the living room
- there is a kitchen with a dining room and a living room separated by sliding doors
- in the bathroom you can take a bath in the bathtub or in the shower (with a rain shower)
- we have a fenced garden with a sauna, barbecue and fireplace
- you can also relax on the terrace overlooking the meadows and stars
Some additional items include a washing machine (useful for longer stays or younger children), a fireplace and a piano.
The kitchen is at your disposal. We wanted it to be really well equipped, so:
- there are many spices, not just salt and pepper
- you can fit everything on the long table top
- there is a sink, but also a dishwasher
- the induction hob has 4 places
- you can also use the oven for cooking or baking
But we will not be surprised if you only use the kitchen to make coffee (there is a coffee machine!) Or tea. The proximity to the restaurant contributes to the handover of the pan. The nearest of them, Zagroda Kociewska, is located less than 200 meters from the house (open until October). The next ones that we recommend are only a dozen or so kilometers away.
There are also many family farms (agricultural and fish) and apiaries in the area. In this case, we will be surprised if you do NOT use them.
Among the attractions, guests point out:
- peace and quiet
- idyllic views of the meadows
- sauna in the garden for evening warm-up (PLN 200 up to 2 days, PLN 300 up to 3 days, from the 4th day - PLN 400) - one-time fee for the entire stay)
- a tub in the garden for evening warming up (PLN 200 up to 3 days, PLN 300 up to 3 days, from the 4th day - PLN 400) - one-time fee for the entire stay)
- board games and good old Netflix (available on TV)
However, we must add to this list that only 360 meters separate us from the shores of Lake Godziszewskie, around which there are swimming areas and numerous paths. One of them leads to Czapla Góra, from which you can admire the views or fly kites. Moreover, from Godziszewo almost to Gdańsk itself, there is a mosaic of meadows and fields. These are good places for rummaging through the grain, picking poppies or leisurely cycling along empty paths.
If you miss the city, see:
- a mural in Tczew based on the famous photograph by Alfred Eisenstaedt, as well as three others on neighboring buildings
- the Vistula Museum and the Art Factory
- ship maintenance center
- Szymbark
- Wdzydze Kiszewskie
- Castle in Malbork
- the old town in Gdańsk, the pier in Sopot
- Vistula boulevard with a viewing platform
- Tczew Bridge (once the longest bridge in Europe!)
- kayaks (Ocypel)
- Lake Borówno Wielkie (beach, water attractions for children)
It's always worth going to Tricity and the seaside if you don't live there every day. But on the other hand... it's also worth staying where you are and not doing anything specific. This sounds like a good plan too.
What’s there for children?
We'll start with what's already at home. First of all, the fenced garden - so you can let the children run loose without fear of getting lost somewhere in the field. The hanging armchairs on the terrace (there are two, so with two children there is no argument about whose turn it is to swing now) and the sauna are very popular. On rainier days, board games, a piano to strum and a TV with Netflix make your stay more pleasant.
Right behind the fence there is Zagroda Kociewska, with a unique playground, sensory paths, ball tracks and a farm with a herd of fallow deer, Maciek the donkey, rabbits, ponies and sheep. If you feel hungry while having fun, it is worth visiting a nearby restaurant serving home-made cuisine.
Not much further from the house there is Lake Godziszewskie with family swimming areas. You can also take the children to the seaside (only 40 km to the Gdańsk beach).
