Life is teeming with life in the Old Manor House and in the old Kazimierz on the Vistula River. The first one is over 250 years old and thanks to it you can travel back in time for real rest. The latter is the capital of artists and in summer, during festivals, he acts as a vital youth to sleep in the winter and let its inhabitants calm down. We invite you to both. In Kazimierz Dolny, on Krakowska Street, right next to the Vistula River, there is a wooden manor house called the Old Presbytery, erected next to the church in Karczmiska in 1765. So what is he doing in Kazimierz? Well, in 1976 he was moved here. Hidden behind a yew hedge, it does not reveal that it once housed a parish office. It is simply a lovely chalet that fits into Kazimierz like a glove.
You live here seasonally. When the cool spring wind roars over the Hill of Three Crosses, the most attractive is a sofa in the color of cloudy blue, or rather misty navy blue. When the porch disappears under the vine, it means one thing - the full summer and the start of the pizza season from the oven in the garden. In September, the streets become empty, the buzzing in pubs at the Market Square subsides, and you can stroll along the yellow ravines. Let us give you the keys and look after the manor. Hope you will feel truly at home here.
In a 250-year-old manor that seems to have found a way to live long. Despite a quarter of a millennium on this earth, it impresses with its coziness, and the renovation and adaptation to the standards of the 21st century gave it vigor. After moving to Kazimierz Dolny, the building was divided into two parts and each of them is completely separate and independent.
After crossing the threshold, you will see a spacious hall. We ask you to change your shoes here for home footwear (slippers, slippers, slippers, slippers, slippers, etc.). There are wooden floors throughout the house, and the one in the living room is 200 years old, so we would appreciate it if you don't walk on them in shoes that you wear "outdoor" or "field".
From the hall, entrances lead to all rooms on the ground floor.
Living room with a fireplace, where you will find:
smartTV 55", chess and board games, books about Kazimierz Dolny and the Lublin region, music set.
Dining room.
Fully equipped kitchen.
Two bathrooms upstairs and downstairs. Each guest in the Manor is provided with a set of cosmetics and a set of towels.
Openwork wooden stairs lead to the first floor, to three bedrooms. We kindly ask, especially the elderly and children, to be extremely careful when using them.
Bedroom I is located on the side of Krakowska Street. It is a double with a double bed. The room has access to a wooden balcony.
In bedroom II, you can read, thanks to the bookcase. It is a double with a double bed. It is possible to add a fold-out cot for children up to 2 years of age. The room has an exit to a wooden balcony and a view of the Vistula embankment.
In bedroom III, there is a window in the roof dormer. This is a double bedroom with 2 single beds.
The cuisine at the Manor House is very modern, although you can eat dinner on the timeless Rococo Ćmielów set. There are all the comforts (dishwasher, induction hob, microwave oven, blender, classic kettle).
The kitchen equipment also includes the necessary chemicals (washing-up liquid, dishwasher blocks), a kitchen dishwasher, a disposable towel, a cotton dish cloth and garbage bags.
You can serve meals in the dining room, and in summer, in the gazebo. You can also eat a small breakfast for two on the porch.
For lovers of outdoor cooking, there is a garden kitchen with a bread and pizza oven, barbecue, smokehouse and hot plates.
We have also planted vegetables and fruit bushes so that you have access to your own harvest during the harvest season. We also planted a small orchard, but it's too early to boast about it.
Full of history and cultural events, architecturally picturesque, bohemian, fabulously situated. Quiet. This is our Kazimierz Dolny. In this unique town, which in summer experiences festival harvests, and rests dormant in winter, you can decide on the style of relaxation yourself.
If you prefer to avoid the crowds, come visit us after the season. Back then, Kazimierz is the most intimate town in the world. However, it is known that summer has its advantages, so the recipe for unhurried holidays in Kazimierz may look like this:
- hide in the garden and forget about the world,
- go for walks in the ravines,
- sunbathe on a nudist beach (the beach is periodically flooded by the Vistula River),
- get on a bike and follow the red trail on the route Kazimierz Dolny - Wąwolnica - Nałęczów - Wojciechów - Dąbrowica - Lublin or only a part of it,
- pedal 16 km to the settlement in Żmijowiska,
- get out to Miećmięrz, a village known as a living open-air museum and admire the ruins of the castle in Janowiec, the village, and the Cow Island Reserve from the Albrechtówek hill (right next to the windmill). Additionally, from the vantage point, it is worth taking a walk to the ruins of Stanisław Szukalski's villa.
- visit the castle in Janowiec,
- go canoeing on the Chodelka river, e.g. Szczekarków Kolonia mill - Kazimierz Dolny, approx. 13 km,
- walk along the promenade on the Vistula embankment, which you lead through the gate straight from the garden.
In summer, life is mostly in the garden. In an enchanted space full of flowers, climbing ivy and fruit bushes. Coffee on the porch, yoga on the grass, rely on a hammock after breakfast. There are no sounds of an excited market here, you can go barefoot, prepare pizza or bread in a wood-fired oven, sip lemonade in the gazebo, play your favorite board game on a blanket or lie on the grass and dream about blue almonds.
It seems important to mention here the mosquitoes that bother, more or less depending on the weather, both the inhabitants and tourists visiting Kazimierz in summer. Hence, the manor house is equipped with a mosquito repellent and a garden candle.
If you come to Kazimierz to get to know the atmosphere of summer art festivals, it is worth planning your vacation much earlier and choosing a specific date.
The end of June is the National Festival of Folk Bands and Singers,
Mid-July - Kazimiernikejszyn,
Beginning of August - Film and Art Festival "Dwa Brzegi",
Then "Wings over Kazimierz",
Beginning of September - Pardes Festival - Meetings with Jewish Culture Kazimierz Dolny / Janowiec
In addition, in the summer months - Organ Festival, local product fairs and many other events.
In winter, however, you can hide in the Manor by the fireplace with a book (we have a lot of them in the library), serve cocoa straight to bed and pretend that you are the only inhabitants of the royal town. And during winter walks around Kazimierz, it is worth visiting "Kuncewiczówka" - the Vistula Museum in Kazimierz Dolny, a must-see on the route of every walk in Kazimierz.
What’s there for children?
For the youngest, we have prepared their own house in the garden, and right next to the flower bed with wild strawberries and raspberries.
What’s there for employees?
It is not without reason that our manor house is called a guest house. We want you to feel taken care of here, and leave here refreshed and refreshed.
In the morning before noon, plan to work at a comfortable desk in the upstairs bedroom. We have a whole lot of additional equipment at your disposal (monitor, jobby microphone, mouse and keyboard). In the dining room, lie down at the table (place for four people), and on warm days, look into the garden and the gazebo, where you will also find electrical sockets. Plan a longer stay, because Kazimierz can be discovered long and slowly.
