Over 20 years ago, on a November day, we stood on a hill nearby and felt that this was our piece of land. One designed to disappear from the world for a moment and remind ourselves that we are part of nature. Our enclave is located in Mała Wieś, which is actually small, with only 10 farms scattered across fields and meadows. So that you can experience a total reset and enjoy closeness that is not distracted by electronic devices, we have prepared three intimate tents for you, immersed in greenery and without electricity. They are an ideal hideout for tired hikers traveling alone or in pairs. They combine the closest possible contact with nature with scenography straight from the interior design catalog. Here you will experience bathing under a rain shower with water heated by the sun, listen to frog and bird concerts, and if you are lucky, you will see a black stork, a hoopoe or a raccoon. Welcome to our Kashubian fairy tale.
Intimate and as close to nature as possible, as only the thin cotton wall of the tent will separate you from the surrounding greenery and the night sky, filled with stars. Our space lies between meadows and fields, at the edge of the forest, with two tents nestled among the trees. They stand on the shore of a peaty lake. Each tent can accommodate a maximum of two people, and we can add an extra bed in the sun tent.
The area of each tent is 25 m². The tents vary in design and color scheme. Each one features a wide bed with a soft mattress and fresh white bedding. There are cabinets, clothes hangers, and reading lights. Cushions, rugs, armchairs, pouffes, tables, and boho-style decorations, along with a multitude of lights, create a very cozy atmosphere inside and on the covered, atmospherically lit terraces with a fireplace and daybeds. The terraces – separate for each tent – are situated on the shore of the lake.
Immediately next to each tent is a table covered with a linen tablecloth and wildflowers. Small folkloric accents remind us that we're in Kashubia. To protect you from the chill of the night, we've prepared merino wool blankets and hot water bottles.
The common area, located behind the tents, consists of a shelter where you'll find:
- a covered kitchenette with running water,
- a free-standing gas grill and gas stove,
- a table for 6 people,
- dishes, pots, coffee makers, and refrigerators with ice packs,
- a cozy relaxation area with a fireplace,
- hammocks.
Separately, near the forest wall, is a restroom complex. There's a sink, a shower with running hot water, or for cooling off on hot days, solar-heated water (if the weather is unfavorable, the water is cold), and a toilet with a sewage system. Next to each tent is an additional tourist toilet for use at night.
It's quiet here, but we're in the countryside, and sometimes we can hear the sound of agricultural machinery working in the fields. There's a good chance you'll be woken up by birds in the morning, with whooping cranes likely rising early. Mosquitoes and moths are also regulars, and lizards sometimes scurry onto the terraces. We don't have electricity, so you'll need to bring power banks to charge your phones.
Here you will find an open kitchen in a natural setting, with a captivating view of the wall of greenery on all sides. With a medley of bird melodies, you will prepare everything you can dream of. The summer kitchen is well-equipped, you also have a gas grill and tourist refrigerators with cooling inserts. We also have a fireplace. However, it is worth bringing the ingredients with you, because the nearest store is about 4 km away.
We will be happy to share with you what is currently growing in our and our closest neighbors' flower beds. You will be able to help yourself with: tomatoes, strawberries, peas, carrots and parsley. There will be a herbarium with fresh herbs at your disposal, there are also apples and pears growing nearby, and blackberry bushes right next to the tents. In the forests surrounding us, seasonally, you will find wild strawberries, raspberries, mushrooms and lots of berries.
If you feel like it, we can prepare a basket full of goodies and delicacies for you: fresh eggs from happy hens and local products (cheese, cold cuts, bread and fruit). These are semi-finished products for preparing a truly exquisite breakfast. For those who cannot imagine holiday cooking, we will recommend tasty eateries in the area where you can try traditional Kashubian flavors.
If you long for moments spent swinging in a hammock, watching the clouds drift lazily across the sky, and being alone with your thoughts, this place is for you. But if you've had enough of peace and quiet and it's time to get moving, the area will welcome you with open arms and offer a wealth of attractions. We have three bikes on site so you can set off on an adventure through the fields and meadows. Just beyond the fence, there's a friendly horse you can pet.
The area is full of unique pleasures, because after all, we're in Kashubia, and this is a truly unique place. What does it have to offer?
- A bike and nature trail that begins just around the bend and leads to the crystal-clear lobelia lakes (the Bytów Lobelia Lakes Trail), named after the lake lobelia. The same bike trail leads to Bytów, whose surroundings boast a network of bike trails and paths. – Forest areas that begin right next to the tents. You can wander freely, pick berries, mushrooms, and flowers.
– A horse farm right next to the bike path leading to Bytów, and a stable with Polish horses a little further on.
– The nearby Słupia River, which offers kayaking, starts in Soszyca. The trails are perfect for a first kayaking trip with children; 3-person kayaks are available for rent. –
The beach on Lake Jeleń.
– A Gothic Teutonic castle and the Western Kashubian Museum with 15 exhibition halls in Bytów.
– Stone Circles in Węsiory, part of the Goth burial ground, a Scandinavian people who arrived in this area in the second half of the 1st century AD.
If you'd like to see places completely unknown, we'll be happy to show you where small lakes are hidden in the forests and where the sweetest strawberries grow. We've also provided a variety of activities on-site. You'll find:
- Unique Tai Chi and Qigong sessions that will help you unwind, relax, and strengthen your muscles. Exercises take place daily on a wooden terrace, in the fresh air surrounded by nature, and are free of charge.
- Board games, books, drawing paper, and soft pencils. Who knows, maybe you'll be inspired to create something new here. All sorts of ideas come to mind; it's worth writing them down or drawing them.
- A peat lake where you can swim as if no one is watching.
- A telescope for stargazing and discovering the secrets of the Milky Way.
- Evenings filled with croaking frogs, admiring sunsets, and spending time together without any distractions, as we have neither electricity nor televisions. – Afternoons with a shadow play on the walls of the tent, which you can gaze into while you fall into the embrace of an afternoon nap.
Children come to us to relax from traditional toys and games. Enjoy the proximity of the forest and contact with nature. What awaits them is closeness with adults who are busy on a daily basis and endless time. We have prepared a bag with games for your children, as well as paper and crayons for painting, because the nature surrounding us inspires even the youngest.
