We've been looking for our dream home for nine years. Not that this one is perfect, but for a building from the late 1700s it is doing pretty well. What captivated us about it was a corridor with a sandstone floor, a column and beautiful arches. The decision has been made, here we go! Although we had to squint our eyes hard to see beauty in this gray lambskin plaster. So we got rid of the elevation as quickly as possible and uncovered the original sandstone and brick. Of course, the renovation went on and on, 4 years of tears, resignation and happiness. But now we can invite you to our home. An intimate, rural resort, with a vegetarian shame by Filip.
We will pick you up at a lavishly set table, which is bending from the host's creativity, we will provide you with peace, because we only have 3 rooms and only hospitality for adults, we will smuggle a bit of the Tuscan atmosphere. We did not plan to create Italian agritourism in Lower Silesia, but somehow it turned out the same. So that we invite you to a Tuscan holiday. For a leisurely rest, a bath in a garden tub, naps in a hammock, Jizera explorations and good coffee in a village at the end of the world. We are waiting for you in the Bóbr Valley.
In a several hundred-year-old farmstead, in a unique sandstone and brick house. The whole is complemented by a large yard, or rather a meadow, which you can escape towards the forest and fields, two barns, places to hide with a book with wonderful views of the meadow. Hammocks await you under an ancient walnut tree and in an old orchard away from everyone. In the center of the yard, in pleasant shade, a large table awaits. In the meadow behind the house, we have a comfortable bed for two people to observe the stars or listen to the soothing rustle of the meadow.
We designed the place for your pleasure. Only for adults, with only four rooms, with bathrooms, with breakfast included in the price, with a communal kitchenette, with kettles in the rooms. Due to its historical character, the house is very intimate. At the same time, we can host a total of 8 people. The Stone Room will be great for two people who like space. A large, 180 cm bed awaits you there. However, they can be separated if necessary. Additionally, there is a full-size table and two armchairs for reading. The Half-timbered and Clay Rooms will work well for two individuals or for a couple of people close to each other. Each has armchairs and small tables. Of course, there are also wardrobes to unpack. Two single beds in these rooms can be connected. And finally, the room by the Chimney will comfortably accommodate 3 people - two on a bed and one on a large fold-out sofa. Or two people comfortably. There is a large wardrobe, a hanging armchair, an armchair by the window with a stool and a table with chairs. The rooms are located on the first floor of the house, and the common areas are on the ground floor. Thanks to this, your rooms are quiet and peaceful. On the ground floor, at the entrance, you will find a small shop with local products, ideal souvenirs from your trip. Right next to it is a guest lounge with a fireplace, a comfortable sofa, a bookcase, audio equipment and a projector. From the lounge, in the summer, you can also escape straight to the stone terrace behind the house. And finally, on the ground floor there is also a dining room where we invite you for breakfast and dinner.
When it comes to food, we recommend you rely on Philip, and you will not regret it. He reigns supreme in a birch kitchen and prepares vegetarian breakfasts and insane dinners for you. If you eat vegan, you will also find something for yourself. We serve at a shared table, long, slowly, healthy and to your heart's content.
The smell of warm cakes and fresh bread will serve as a signpost to the dining room. The table will bend with homemade sourdough bread, various types of spreads, cheeses, vegetables, homemade pickles, granola, scrambled eggs or an omelette depending on the season and mood. Maybe you will find pumpkin pancakes with blackberry mousse and cinnamon apple mousse, humus with beetroot mousse, roasted carrot paste or focaccia with tomatoes and basil pesto. It will end with a good herbal infusion and coffee from an espresso machine.
Later, you will probably disappear to explore the area or lie in the garden, and we will prepare a two-course dinner for you. The menu is born spontaneously, just from what is the most available, healthiest and freshest in a given period. You will always eat breakfast with us, however, we cook dinners mainly in the season, but in the off-season (October-December and March-May) we do not always cook, so check before your arrival whether we serve dinners.
We do not think that you will be bored with us. But if so, it is very pleasant and certainly necessary. In the great garden there is a place for a nap in a hammock, for a shelter from the sun in the barn, for reading books, and for a country spa in a garden tub. If you want to be alone, you can, if you want to talk to people, that is also possible.
Two Birches are located nowhere, and at the same time in the very center of beauty. In a typical Jizera village, where the roads are one car wide, houses over 200 years old, and sunsets are a must. It is close from here on foot to Kingsajz, i.e. to the enormous geological uplift of sandstone forming vertical rock walls.
On foot, you can also go to the Lenno Palace (approx. 40 minutes on foot), where you can drink delicious coffee and lemonade, eat vegan cake and absorb the history of the palace, like a good novel. Along the way, it is worth just straying from the trail a bit to see the sandstone drifters. It is a very interesting geological form, a treat for lovers of the history of the earth. After a meal in the Palace, it's time for a short walk uphill even more to the ruins of the Wleń castle. This is the best vantage point in this part of the world. The panorama painted from the top of the towers on Wleń, the Bóbr and the mountains is spectacular. A ticket to the castle also allows you to visit the Ducal Tower in Siedlęcin.
You can plan your close trips by bicycle. However, if you are not really in good shape, we do not recommend shooting kilometers on a regular bike. We recommend support for this. A hybrid electric bike sounds cosmic, but it's great especially for our hills. It is fun to drive, you can see a lot, and you are not out of breath and without a tongue on your back. We do not have such bikes at home, but the neighbor from Klecza rents such wonders, so if you are with us, you will rent a bike three houses further.
And when you rent it, it is worth going to Maciejowiec to see the ruins of the Defensive Manor. To Pilchowickie Lake to absolutely admire the view from the Dam on the Bóbr River and see the famous railway bridge, which, fortunately, was not blown up for the film with Tom Cruise. If you are not afraid of heights, then look down from the dam to the lake. Real water turtles live there.
Probably already by car, while at the Ducal Tower in Siedlęcin, you cannot miss the Pearl of the West. There is a bridge over Lake Modrym that leads to the "Perła Zachodu" PTTK Shelter. The building and its location cause jaw drop, and the surroundings are no less delightful. The place is a treat for climbers. In total, 26 climbing routes have been marked out here. On site, you can visit the shelter restaurant, and then go to some interesting viewpoints, incl. Złoty Widok, Trafalgar or Sośnik.
For a beautiful view of the Bóbr you can go to Marczów, to the bridge, there is also a small village beach. And you can go canoeing on the Bóbr from Nielestno.
For a longer, but fruitful trip, we recommend going to Bolesławiec, to the Living Museum. You can take part in workshops there and create your own ceramics with your unique Bolesławiec pattern. In high season, it is worth calling in advance and arranging a workshop.
You can also challenge yourself to visit all the castles and palaces in the area, although it will be a difficult art. We recommend you to get lost in the surrounding villages unhurriedly, because practically in each of them you will find some delight and some mystery. These attractions will surely be enough for you for one trip, but know that we have a lot, much more.
We have wireless internet in the house. If you plan to work with us, it is best to choose the Stone or Przy Kominie room because there is a full-size table and a large enough place to sit down to work. Next to the rooms on the first floor you will also find a place where you can make coffee and tea. If you prefer to work outside the room during the day, we recommend the lounge on the ground floor, you can close the door there and work in peace. There is a table, couch and armchair where you can sit down. And the best thing about it all is that in the morning we will invite you for a nutritious breakfast and in the evening for dinner we will also take care of you and you will not have to leave.
