A rainbow often hangs over Makówka, the air is cut by the crowing of Chojrak's rooster, and in the nearby field a flock of our goats joyfully pushes, feasts and lies down, often grazing the terrace. The windows of the house look at the forest, from which deer look out in the morning, and sometimes moose. Sometimes a tractor will pass along the road, and hares are hopping around the field. Our dogs, Pudding and Figa can come to visit, and if you need human company, we live right next door. Lessons on resting will be given to you by goats, the sight of which leaves you amazed and stopped from the very beginning. The headaches of everyday life evaporate and the body relaxes. We don't know how these playful animals with rectangular pupils do it, but we know for sure that after a whole day of rural idyll and staring at their flock, you dream blissful dreams in a cozy and year-round house for 4 people.
You will find us at the end of the village of Zabagnie, near Białobrzegi, where we moved from the capital, having no clue about rural life. Before our farm with goats, chickens, rabbits, a vegetable garden and a field full of cereals was established here, we had to clear 5 hectares of land, sow seeds and learn to drive a tractor. Today, even residents of the surrounding area come to buy our goat cheeses, which we also learned to make (and apparently we do it well), and eggs from our hens. Although we are constantly exploring the art of living in the countryside, we win over people with enthusiasm, and we love our new house completely. Come and check for yourself how much good the countryside can bring in life and do in your head. Our goats are waiting for you.
In a poppy-colored house that was created to delight. We heard praise from everyone who visited us here, even when he came to us from the neighboring Białobrzegi for eggs and milk. Our farm is located at the end of the road, it is surrounded by forest and space. We have several hectares of land divided by a communal road, on two of them there is Makówka.
Get to know her closer. Makówka is a 24-meter skeleton house where you will find:
- cozy interior with a living room connected to a kitchenette,
- a comfortable fold-out sofa downstairs,
- a mezzanine bedroom with two single beds,
- bathroom with shower,
- a small terrace with a table and chairs,
- sun loungers,
- Grill,
- a place for a bonfire.
The cottage is year-round, heated by infrared, which provides warmth even on the coldest days. It is true that you will not look at the fire, but thanks to this solution, the temperature is constant and you do not have to get dirty and bother lighting the fireplace or the goat.
Makówka overlooks the field, forest and goats that nurture the grass in front of the house. They also often like to spy on guests, so don't be surprised by the sight of a goat's tongue on the glass or a curious goat's face peeking through the patio door. Goat visits are available to visitors from March to October-November. In late autumn and winter, there are no more treats on the meadow and our herd is stationed in the goat's house. In order to look at them, you must visit them.
Makówka is perfect for two people, but we can also accommodate a family or friendly group of 4. A tempting option is also to pitch a tent in front of the house or sleep in the open air, which may appeal especially to children. Meetings in a noisy, intimate group are welcome.
The cottage is next to our farm, but the closest neighbors live at a considerable distance from us. Our fields are separated by a municipal dirt road, which is sometimes passed by a car or a tractor.
Due to our horned little ones, reluctant to play tag with the youngest, we invite you to Makówka with older children, for whom the steep stairs leading to the mezzanine will not be a challenge.
In Makówka, you are responsible for meals yourself. The following can help you with this: vegetables from our garden, for which we cordially invite you, and goat cheese, milk and yogurt from our Zagroda Zabagnie. Although we will not tell you the secrets of cheese-making, because they are kept secret, we are proud of: feta-type farm cheese, goat cheese, cottage cheese, lame balls in grape seed oil and cheeses with additives (fenugreek, cranberry, garlic, chilli or dried tomatoes), which you can buy from us, subject to availability (April-October) and enjoy them on the terrace. We also have eggs from happy hens from our own henhouse.
We put at your disposal our Herbarium and vegetable garden. In the herbarium you will find various herbs and spices such as lovage, lemon balm, mint, oregano, basil, arugula, chives and parsley.
In the garden, however, you can try large or small tomatoes, cucumbers or zucchini, which taste great raw in a salad (we will give you the recipe if you ask). Both the Herbarium and the garden invite you from spring to autumn, in winter the vegetables sleep. Also remember that each of the plants has a different collection/consumption period.
There are small coffee tables inside, a table with chairs, it is on the terrace, but you can also take it out to the meadow and enjoy a meal there. We have also prepared a place for a bonfire and a barbecue for you.
If, instead of cooking, you prefer looking at grazing goats, and in the morning at roe deer and sometimes moose dropping in, then the nearby restaurants, which have a lot to offer, will deliver food to Makówka. You can also choose them, we leave the list below. For fish and a supply of flour, you can go to Białobrzegi to Młyn Bocianek.
We ask you very much - do not feed the goats and do not leave food on the terrace.
You will enjoy the charms of country life here - sometimes you will hear the rooster Chojrak, sometimes you will be woken up by the guinea fowl - Hansel, who can be louder. Our dogs - Budyń and Figa - can come visit, and our herd of goats, headed by Melissa, is part of the landscape here. The proximity of the forest means that in the morning you can see deer and sometimes also moose.
Makówka with a view of the forest offers simple pleasures that bring peace and delight the senses:
– watching the goats looking for their delicacies in the grass - their favorite herbs, lying in front of the house or looking through the windows (we can't think of a more relaxing activity),
– stellar shows, best admired from deckchairs,
– reading books, inside we have prepared a small library for you,
– breathing deeply, de-stressing and resting from the hustle and bustle of the city.
What about the area?
– where the road ends, there are numerous forest paths, perfect for long walks or jogging,
– in the area we have the Stromecka and Kozienicka Forests and nature reserves: Majdan and Starodrzew Dobieszyński,
– we will show you how to get to the big oak tree
– 5 km from us, the Pilica flows, ideal for rafting, swimming and fishing, and in winter open to those who want to try winter swimming,
– nearby you will find several stud farms offering horse riding and two places where you can visit alpacas - Puszysta Farma in Małe Boże and Słodka Zagroda in Korzeń,
– the area is pleasant to explore on two wheels, there are road and cross-country trails, and in Płaskowo there is a bike park,
– in Białobrzegi you can eat natural Białobrzegi ice cream from Gruszczyński, which has been produced since 1936, and sit on a bench with a sculpture of Jeremi Przybora, who knew Białobrzegi well because he lived in nearby Pacewo.
