Don't let the name of the village fool you: Miejski Las. The forest is the real Masurian one, between several clean lakes. It is bordered by a historic post-German farm with an old orchard, where pear, apple and walnut still bear fruit. And in this orchard: a nearly 100-year-old house that has just gained a new life. I bought it because Masuria is my place on earth. I thought that maybe it will also become yours.
In the Leśny Sad Farm you will experience a blissful rest in idyllic natural circumstances and cozy interiors. From behind mint windows, the surrounding meadows will call you for long walks, the forests will tell the stories of their former inhabitants, and the lakes will absorb the worries of everyday life. Come on vacation like in the English countryside, but it's better because in Polish Masuria.
In an old Masurian house from 1929, which has seen and remembers many things. Now it's time to write his new story: about joy, peace, evenings together at the garden table and sunny afternoons on the terrace.
A maximum of 6 people can rest in the house, but the five of you will be most comfortable, because one bed is on the sofa. We have it here:
– 2 bedrooms with double beds (in one of them an additional sofa),
– a living room with a sofa bed,
– 2 bathrooms with shower.
The house is at your exclusive disposal.
There is one more building on the site of the former farm, an old barn. For now, it is empty, but in a while I will also finish it, arrange it and it will be available for rent along with the house.
The plot is not fenced, it lies by a country road, and behind it there is a forest (not at all Municipal). There is also an orchard where you can pick fruit in the summer, and a place for a bonfire in the garden.
There will be a well-equipped kitchen at your disposal, where you can cook whatever you like. On warm summer days, you can eat in the garden or on the terrace - it tastes best! For those who are not cooking salutary news: 8 minutes in the car and you are in Mrągowo, and there are numerous restaurants and cafes waiting for you.
Boredom is a matter of choice in Forest Orchard. If you come here for it, you will be delighted. There are beautiful days of walks in the meadows and forests waiting for you, pleasant moments by the Masurian lakes, blissful afternoons on a deckchair with a book.
But if you do not like boredom, you will organize some concert time here, because there are plenty of attractions.
- This is a perfect neighborhood for fans of two wheels. There are dirt roads, forest gravel, paths for Sunday cyclists and those who traveled many kilometers on the MTB.
- You are quite close to the Piska Forest from the Miejski Las. It is an area that absolutely impresses with its beauty. It has 100 thousand. ha of pine and spruce forests, where lynxes, beavers and cranes live, and the local views stay under the eyelids for a long time. You can walk around the forest, ride a bicycle, you can go canoeing along the Krutynia River.
- Here we smoothly go to the canoeing trip on the Krutynia River, whose picturesque routes will bring a lot of joy to paddling enthusiasts. They are easy and safe, so you can be safe with children, or even when someone does not feel confident with an oar in their hands. It is also one of the most beautiful canoeing routes in Poland.
- In the aforementioned Piska Forest, there is the Kadzidłowo Wild Animal Park. This is one of the few places in Poland where you can still meet wild animals in conditions similar to natural. There you can see wolves, lynxes, roe deer, elks, eagles and owls. It is not a typical zoo, but a place where you really care for animals and you can listen to the guides talking about them passionately. Perfect for a trip with kids.
- And the lakes. Only choose from the most beautiful ones. You have approx. 1 km to the nearest lake, Lake Dobrynek, but it is a wild lake with a poorly developed shoreline. Just a little further away are Jukstas with clean water and a few nice places to spread out. At Lake Czos, with a more extensive infrastructure, you will also be nice. In the longer term, Śniardwy and Tałty await.
- And if you come here in winter, you can even go skiing. In the City Forest itself, there is the Góra Czterech Wiatrów ski lift. It is a gentle slope that will be good for beginners and kids alike.
What’s there for children?
You will have to take care of organizing the kids' time on your own and at your discretion. The little ones are welcome here, but the attractions that await them are of a rural and uncomplicated nature. You can walk on trees, play tag, play hide and seek or make a base in the garden and hide there for the entire afternoon.
