Plots listed on the Internet, including through a real estate office, are not bought, my husband said when, on one autumn day, we were visiting local villages in search of our place in Lower Silesia. At that time, there was only one left on the long list, the one from the Internet. I no longer remember convincing Daniel to wade in the mud (because there was no road here), in the pouring rain, and forcing through the tall grass to see it. I do remember, however, a perfectly unusual and utterly delightful sight that appeared to our eyes after this crossing. A herd of roe deer ran almost in front of our noses and gave rise to Sarnia Łąka. And so, at the foot of the Krzyżatka Mountain, better known as Krzyżnik, we have built two houses and a road that leads to them, so that you can get to us without any sensations.
There are many reasons to come to us. We have traces of many stories that stimulate the imagination, with Princess Marianna of Orange and the former uranium mine at the forefront. We have the most beautiful cave in Poland and a panorama of four mountain ranges that surround our valley: the Złote Mountains, the Bialskie Mountains, the Śnieżnik Massif and the Krowiarek Mountains. You can: climb peaks, wander in forests, go hiking on a bike, soak your feet in a brine, go skiing, discover monuments, or hammock or lie down in the meadow. Pack the children and the dog, direction: Stronie Śląskie!
Dear Slowhopers!
You will reach us without any problem and without having to drive into the town.
There is a restaurant and shops in the immediate vicinity. Many attractions have reopened, and we will be happy to advise you on how to spend your time. You can still relax in comfortable conditions at Sarnia Łąka.
Only two cottages on a large area, picturesquely situated on the slope of Krzyżnik Mountain, also known as Góra Krzyżatka.
A hot tub with a jacuzzi at each cottage.
Each cottage has two bedrooms. One is downstairs, the other on the mezzanine with two single beds (there is a possibility to connect them).
Each cottage can accommodate 4 people.
What else?
- Downstairs there is a living room with access to the terrace and a kitchenette.
- Each cottage has a smart TV and access to Netflix.
- There is a shower in the bathroom.
- There are books and board games in the cottages.
The cottages are identical in terms of square footage, room layout, comfort and functionality, and they differ in interior style, so that you can choose the one that suits you best. In front of each cottage there is a 22-meter terrace with a large table and chairs.
The common area is a playground, a space with a brick barbecue and a place for a bonfire (there is a grate).
At your disposal are deckchairs, hammocks, a pergola with a net for sunbathing.
When night falls, the place is made more charming by atmospheric lighting. In winter, when the cottages are covered in snow, the meadow turns into a fairy-tale land.
We believe that every meal tastes better eaten outdoors, which is why each terrace house has a table with chairs. We tested the food there even in winter, placing plates of food and steaming mugs in snow caps. And guess what? The meals tasted delicious.
We believe in the theory that breakfast in bed is always a great idea. We love serving delicacies in a unique setting and we encourage you to do the same. We have equipped the kitchenette with everything you need to prepare a unique or quite ordinary meal. If you don't feel like eating outside, there is a small table with chairs inside. For those who cannot imagine a morning without coffee, there are: a French press, an Italian coffee maker, a coffee grinder and good coffee.
Our fears are that you may not have enough time for boredom and to be able to experience it, you will have to squeeze it into a tight schedule.
On our meadow you have hammocks perfect for reading or naps, deckchairs, terraces, a place for a bonfire and the achievements of civilization that will allow you to catch up on the series. There are countless ways to spend time, regardless of the season. In winter, people come for snow and madness associated with it. In autumn, to slow down, pick mushrooms in the nearby forests (we are in the most forested commune in Poland), listen to the rutting and hit the trails, and after returning, hide under a blanket with a cup of hot tea. In spring, to admire the awakening nature from the walking and cycling routes. And in the summer, to relax in the company of mountains and water, because on the other side of our mountain there is a reservoir.
To make it easier to choose, we have prepared a list for you, it includes:
- The green trail leading to Czarna Góra, which runs nearby, leads to Międzygórze, situated in a valley at the foot of Śnieżnik and famous for its Tyrolean-Alpine buildings.
- Expedition to Śnieżnik. In the hall on the western slope there is a PTTK hostel, the main part of which is Swiss (a typical Sudeten tourist shelter from 1871), built by a Swiss highlander at the request of Princess Marianna of Orange.
- A walk along the route around Stronie Śląskie, a trip to the Nyznerowskie Waterfall nature reserve and a walk to the Three Sisters in the Bialskie Mountains. And these are just examples, because there are 18 walking routes in the area.
- Unique industrial architecture - lime kiln, "Graceful Stone" lime kiln, with the family museum of historic printing machines, art print studio and a Japanese garden next door.
- A lagoon in Stara Morawa at the foot of the Krzyżnik (on the other side of the mountain than our meadow), with a beach and a guarded bathing area, an observation tower, water equipment rental and a wake park.
- Czarna Góra, a resort that provides attractions all year round. There is all of them, but they are very touristic and crowded (from swimming pools and a water playground to routes for cycling, electric scooters and the longest bobsleigh track in Poland). You can get to the top of the mountain by a very fast cable car (the ride takes 3 minutes).
It offers a panoramic view of the mountain ranges surrounding Czarna Góra, with Śnieżnik in the lead role. You can also admire the Bardzkie, Bialskie and Złote Mountains and the Czech Vysoké Jasielnik with the highest mountain in Moravia - Praděd.
- A wealth of paths and bicycle routes: Singletrack Glacensis for amateurs of mountain paths, numerous routes in mountain valleys for those who prefer asphalt and downhill routes on Czarna Góra. It's best to take your bikes with you, but there are several rentals in the area.
- Agritourism on the Ponds in Kletno, where there is a restaurant, and next to it a rope park, electric bike rental and a farm with mouflons, goats and fallow deer.
- The Bear Cave in Kletno, the longest cave in the Sudetes, away. Although its tunnels and caverns are 5 km long in total, the tourist route is only 360 meters away, which takes about 45 minutes.
- Underground route in the old uranium mine in Kletno, located on the northern slope of Żmijowiec.
- The Czech Republic, and there: the Rock City of Adrspach (88 km), Sky Bridge (49 km) with a 710-meter path at an altitude of 1116 m above sea level, or the Paprsek Shelter and taste the paravids.
- Equestrian center in Nowy Gierałtów.
The nearest ski resorts are Czarna Góra (5 km), the slopes of which we can see from our windows (there is also an ice rink there) and Kamienica (6 km). There are approx. 60 km of cross-country ski runs in the village, which are developing strongly in the region. You can also jump on the Czech routes and use a total of approx. 200 km of groomed routes in the Bialskie Mountains and the Golden Mountains.
And at the end of the day, we recommend returning to the meadow for a magical spectacle prepared by fireflies.
What’s there for children?
Children's fun lasts in our meadow all year round. The youngest have a lot of fun here by contacting nature, observing animals, running on the grass and engaging in creative games. Because space and fresh mountain air make the most interesting ideas come to mind. And although we have a playground with a house, swings and a slide, the bigger attractions are often: playing hide and seek, tag, policemen and robbers or cooking, certainly outstanding, grass and mud soups. The large terraces of the houses turn into car racing routes, and the board games left in the houses make the evenings together, alternating with bonfires, more pleasant.
In winter, the youngest enjoy the snow by building snowmen, having snowball fights and going sledding.
And after a whole day of excitement, they sleep like gophers. We checked with three of us.
We leave you a list of local attractions that children may like below.
