When cherry soup and pierogi with blueberries appear on the table, it is honey to my heart to hear: it is like at mom's. Because everything is made with love, home-style. And I think that the term "home-style" fits us best. In any case, I have seen a sauna or a Russian bath in few houses - so you will not find them in Zakątek either. Honesty also requires me to admit that our five rooms are clean, nice places, but with shared bathrooms in the corridor. So again - home-style. The spaces for relaxation and the kitchen are also shared, if someone wants to cook for themselves.
We fell in love with our almost 130-year-old house, perched on the edge of the Notecka Forest, from the very first photo. We saw the view from the porch of 6 hectares of meadows and fields, and we decided to buy it without seeing the place in person. We were not disappointed. Now Sójkowy Zakątek is agritourism through and through. Although no - rather from eggs and jams, which we serve with our own bread for breakfast. Ecology surrounds us to the horizon, because both we and our neighbors have eco farm certificates.
I admit that I wasn't sure whether we, our old house and animal gang fit into Slowhop. But if you are looking for a homely place for a country vacation smelling of tomato soup, we are here. And we invite everyone: the big ones and the little ones!
We have 5 rooms for guests - three in the attic and two on the ground floor. By renting a room, you will of course have access to common areas: equipped kitchen, dining room, garden, common area in the attic, two porches and a recreational barn. Bathrooms are shared. The only room with its own bathroom is the Sun Room.
We do not offer modern cuisine or cuisine from all over the world. We simply feed at home and with heart.
During the season (long weekends, holidays), full board is included in the price. During the off-season, guests can decide for themselves whether they want to cook for themselves or not. There is access to a shared kitchen all year round.
We are an ecological farm, we are surrounded by ecologically cultivated fields. All our harvests later reach the table in the form of, for example, jams. We also have fresh eggs, home-made bread and a neighbor with real milk straight from the cow.
Around the house there are 6 hectares of meadows and fields that invite you to walk or at least admire them from the terrace. The meadows flow smoothly into the forest with lakes and nature reserves hidden between the trees. And all these walking opportunities are provided by Puszcza Notecka.
Therefore, I recommend spending your free time there - in nature, which you can admire from the perspective of two legs, two wheels, a kayak (organized rafting trips on the Drawa River) or a horse's back (for mounts, go to the Rusinowo stables).
At least for one day it is worth going to the Drawieński National Park, where you can:
- choose one of the trails, which have a total length of 230 km,
- get to know the fish that live here, and these are species that are rarely seen in Poland (e.g. river lamprey, salmon, brown trout),
- look for otters and beavers,
- find the Evangelical-Augsburg cemetery from the 19th century,
- cross-country skiing along the lakes.
If you are looking for historical attractions - look around carefully. In this area, you can be in the middle of the forest and suddenly see stairs. The locals call it "stairway to heaven". They are the remains of the settlement of Stare Zacisze, where a palace and a farm once stood. It was the home of the German activist Hans Paasche, who was shot in 1920 for his pacifist attitudes, helping oppositionists and criticizing colonial policy.
In the Corner itself you will find:
- a barn with a ping-pong table, a mini gym and space for workshops,
- five bikes for rent (free of charge),
- badminton and volleyball court and equipment
- table football
- Nordic walking poles,
- the previously mentioned living room and two porches for relaxing on site.
- there may be a lot of children during the holidays
What’s there for children?
For children we have, among others:
- 6 hectares of fields and meadows around the house,
- domestic and rural animals,
- playground in the yard,
- a recreation barn with a ping-pong table,
- board games,
- volleyball court.
