Hey, stop wanderer! You have entered the territory of the Mountain Spirit, so look around carefully.
Nothing here is what it seems. Because in the Mała Kamienna stream, is there a fish scale or gold, unnoticed by the Walloons? Whose old walls stretch around the village? And who built the temple on Mist Mountain?

The answers are hidden in the woods. So are witches. Although they say that the latter are the easiest to meet on the Babia Pass. However, the Jizera Mountains are home not only to legends that are still alive, but also to empty trails and art. A wanderer over the sea of fog - the painter Caspar David Friedrich, as well as the romanticist and poet Theodor Körner used to come here. Today, Leszek Różański works at Kozia Szyja, and Marlena Jędrocha from Izera Gallery invites Marlena Jędrocha from the Izera Gallery to jointly arrange the mosaic. From our Izerium, a house with over 150 years of history, all these splendors are within walking distance. Even closer, because right on the doorstep, we put a huge terrace overlooking the valley.

We rent the house entirely for exclusive use. During the renovation, we tried not only to preserve but also to display its original elements, such as, for example, stone walls in the living room, up to 7 meters high.

The three bedrooms - each with a double bed - are upstairs, along with two bathrooms with hydro massage showers. During the day, however, life goes on mainly on the ground floor, where there is a living room with a fireplace (and a sofa bed for 2 people, if necessary), a kitchen and a dining room. Let's not forget about the terrace, which offers an amazing view of the Jizera Mountains.

An asphalt road leads to the house, which is regularly maintained during the winter. The last 100 meters are closed to public traffic and only used by visitors.

The kitchen has everything necessary for cooking together, i.e. a hob, oven, toaster, microwave oven with grill, drip coffee maker, pressure coffee maker for Dolce Gusto capsules, fridge and full tableware. A dishwasher will help with washing up. Outside the house there is a fire place in a stone circle. For the best goat cheese, it is worth going to Mr. Tomek in Chromiec, and buying bread at the already famous WEDA bakery.

Before the war, almost every house in Kopaniec had rooms for vacationers. The area attracted - and still attracts - with always warm attractions for the heart: clean air, the vicinity of forests, a view of the mountains. During the walk you could meet painters, today our Nobel Prize winner is visiting these pages, and in the Izery Gallery you will make your own mosaic. For those who rest in motion, we have forest paths, ski and bicycle routes. I recommend having a look at the website mapa.cz - after changing the map to the 'outdoor' format, all nearby routes will be shown.

Historically, the more information you look for, the more you grab your head. There are so many amazing places here that still haven't revealed all their secrets! Take, for example, stone embankments around the Mound. A few meters thick, not fully explaining the purpose of its creation. Who built them? Celts, Walloons looking for gold in Jizera, or maybe brothers from the Order of Joannites? Old names lost in the woods also ignite the imagination. The Fog Mountain (originally: Nebelberg), Polana Czarownic (Hexeplantz or Babia Przełęcz) or Sowi Kamień with a legend about the spirit of the wife of the owner of the castle in Stara Kamienica. Thematic tours - incl. night walks with kerosene lamps - are organized by outstanding guides from the Sudecka Kraina (sudeckakraina.pl).

At a distance of several kilometers from Kopaniec, the Karkonosze Mountains are delightful, the most famous cross-country trails in Jakuszyce stretch and they feed well in Szklarska Poręba. You can drive up ... but you can also not go anywhere from Kopaniec. There will be plenty of attractions, but there will be more of this silence.

Let me start with a basic but often overlooked point: I have safety for children. The neighborhood is intimate, 100 meters in front of the house, the main road turns, and our own private road leads to us. Thanks to this, you can let your children go crazy in the garden with a much calmer head.

There is a children's library with games and books on site. In winter, it is enough to go outside to make use of the sledge. Snow-free months are the time of endless hiking or cycling. Since this part of the Jizera Mountains has long attracted (and still does) all kinds of artists, I encourage you to participate in the workshops next door.
