Hi! We wave to you from Iceland and give you a high five across the screen. We flew away a bit from our hometown, but we are happy to come back to the Kłodzko Land and invite you to our 200-year-old thresholds. Dom Sudecki is first and foremost a very social house. He pats to motivate to go to the mountains, wraps a blanket like an exemplary grandmother and shares the interior up to the ceiling. Whether he always liked the guests so much, or maybe he opened up like that with us - we will never find out. However, we listen carefully to his requests for the most frequent company, hence as many as four nice bedrooms, a lot of space in between and a garden outside the window.
We believe that any reason is good to be in a beautiful place. We can suggest a few, however, just for encouragement. The first reason: exciting cycle routes with a total length of more than 80 km (counting only those in the immediate vicinity). The second reason: Jakuszyce in Kłodzko, but without the crowds and all the spine about trampling even a centimeter of the ski trail. Search under the name Bielice. Reason three: great mountains. For views and wind blowing your head, go to the Śnieżnik Massif, for memories of the Bieszczady Mountains before the commercial trip to the Bialskie Mountains, and for leisurely walks to the Golden Mountains. And if you hesitate to come with your children, our son Jeremi stamped the area with a stamp: I came, I played and did not get bored.
Dom Sudecki is waiting for you with open doors!
For years, it was a small farm, an interconnected residential building with a stable and a glued-on barn. The land in Radochów was not conducive to cultivation, so its subsequent inhabitants, apart from dealing with small crops and livestock, had to earn extra money by doing other jobs. The year 1945 brought a change of nationality of the owners and, unfortunately, a significant deterioration of the building's condition. In 1994, new owners begin renovating - or rather rebuilding, what was left. The original basement, part of the stable (the present bathroom) and the internal wall with a chimney can be preserved from the "old" building. The rest of the house is built from scratch, combining new technologies with original old building patents. We get to know this place in 2018. A few months later, we sign a notarial deed, becoming the hosts of a patch of sky with a view of the Golden Mountains.
But okay, let's drop the story for a moment and deal with whatever you may find inside. In Dom Sudecki there are as many as four bedrooms, the above-mentioned large bathroom with a shower and additionally two separate toilets, a kitchen with a dining room and a living room. You can plan who will sleep in which bedroom before arrival - a more detailed list is provided below. It is also worth knowing that we provide high-speed Internet - so you can combine rest with work or doing overdue homework. On a daily basis, the house is looked after by Konrad's parents, who treat it as their own and make sure that the guests are properly looked after. It is they who will give you the keys upon arrival.
- Bedroom on the ground floor
The room is especially recommended for older guests, as getting into it does not require climbing stairs. There are two single beds.
- Attic bedroom
A room with a double bed located in the very top of the house. Duck stairs lead to it, it is a room open to the living room. From the bed hidden behind the chimney, there is a wonderful view of the surroundings.
- Bedroom on the first floor
Room with a large double bed and beautiful furniture. We recommend it especially for parents with a small child, due to the cot in it.
- Bedroom on the second floor
Room with two single beds, most often chosen by children.
Since it's a House, then the kitchen must be decent. That is why there is so much space for cooking that when preparing breakfast or dinner, you should not give it to others every now and then from the elbow. Instead of soaking the dishes in the sink, it is better to wet the feet in Biała Lądecka and leave the dirty pots under the supervision of the dishwasher. You can make toasts or baked Camembert in the oven with the Lower Silesian wine from the Radochowska winery. On a warmer evening, it is worth taking advantage of the barbecue in the garden (note - we do not provide a place for a traditional bonfire).
We have several restaurants in the area, to which we are happy to come back. Beautiful ponds with trout for self-catching and a mouflon farm behind a fence are in Fischland. It's a quiet place, with no coverage and no card payment option. The second proven fish address is Trout Paradise. Some people believe that Paradise is the place where you eat the best trout in your life (sounds like a recommendation worth checking out!).
You can try great pizzas with interesting toppings, such as sweet potato fries, in Cherry Pepperoni. And if you find yourself in Lądek-Zdrój, check out the Creativity Cafe under Adam, Coffee Ride, Dom Klahra or the Viennese cafe.
We'll start with what's closest. There is a beautiful garden around the house, to which we add new plants each season (we have also been creating a fruit orchard for a year). There is a place for a playground, a hammock and a swing. You can play board games in front of the entrance door. In addition to the garden, there is also almost a hectare of land at guests' disposal (however, we are still thinking how to arrange it in a good way).
What awaits you ...
- WINTER?
When the waters of Biała Lądecka disappear under snow and ice, it is a sign that it is time to take out your skis. The nearest ski station is in Lądek-Zdrój (7.6 km), a little further (17.3 km) is the more famous and crowded resort of Czarna Góra. We recommend a wild trip to Śnieżnik for skitourists, and runners to Bielice (23.9 km), where they will find a total of 85 km of routes on both the Polish and Czech sides.
- SPRING?
The beginning of spring is the time when the Kłodzko Region takes a breath after winter and skiers. At the top of Śnieżnik or Czarna Góra, you can still see snow, but here, in the valley, life dormant in the cold earth awakens. The farther into the spring, the more green, the first wild strawberries and the songs of birds. The most persistent hikers return to the trails, loving above all the lack of crowds. And instead of skis, take your bikes: singletrack is ready for the start of the new season!
- SUMMER?
Ah, summer! In summer, everything seems possible here: cycling, hiking in the Golden Mountains and Śnieżnik, visiting the Radochowska Cave, galloping in the meadows, swimming in the swimming pool in Stara Morawa, participating in numerous workshops at the Gottwaldówka Open-Air Museum or cultural events in Lądek-Zdrój. Summer is the season of adventure.
- AUTUMN?
All the mountains are said to look good in the fall, but the peaks in the Kłodzko Region are especially successful this autumn. It is empty, colorful and somehow more intimate. Going for a walk, you can pick a wild apple or a pear from a post-German apple tree and reflect on what it all looked like in the past. Food visitors can feel free to sit comfortably in the best food addresses, the menu of which has just returned mushrooms from the surrounding forests.
If you like concerts, flea markets and other neighborhood events, check out the Lądek-Zdrój calendar (https://ckirladek.pl/layout-b/). Here, even in the off-season, a lot has happened since the pandemic spread remote work and the former city dwellers, eager for a local dose of culture, moved to this area.
What’s there for children?
We are parents and we know how difficult it is sometimes to find a suitable place for kids. With interesting attractions at your fingertips, so that the days are not marked by commuting, struggling with a car seat and questions '' far away? ''. And at the same time in a quiet area, without car madmen right outside the window. Well… here we are!
Because families find their way to the Sudety House often and densely. They appreciate several bedrooms, accessories in the form of a baby cot and chairs, a playground in the garden and a large distance from the road (in the narrowest place it is still over 100 meters through the fields).
# 1 Radochowska Cave - 1.8 km
If your children want to experience an underground adventure, it is worth approaching the Radochowska Cave. This is definitely a wilder version of the Bear's Cave, because you can touch everything here, crawl and squeeze through tight corners. The local guides have been collecting laurels for a long time for interesting group management.
# 2 Ski station in Lądek Zdrój - 7.6 km
Great slope almost next door. There are several chairlifts and one chairlift to use. Equipment rental on site.
# 3 Two-wheel singletrack - approx. 7 km
What like what, but bicycle routes can envy us. The loops are numerous and with varying degrees of difficulty. For the most beginners, the following loops will work: Zdrój, Złota and Orłowiec.
# 4 Alpacas in Konradów - 4.6 km
Nice mini zoo with alpacas. Before arriving, make sure to call and ask for a free hour. You can also buy snacks or (for adults) regional beers.
# 5 Open-air museum Gottwaldówka - 5.9 km
Very nice open-air museum with additional attractions and workshops. On Saturdays before noon, you can leave here with your own, still warm loaf.
# 6 On-site entertainment - 0 km
A playground, board games, a swing, badminton equipment - all this is waiting in the Sudety House itself.
# 7 Labyrinth in Adrenalina Park - 13.5 km
Contrary to the not very sophisticated name and uncertain first impression, the maze turns out to be great fun. The kids are running around in search of an exit and surprises, you are resting ... or joining in the search!
