When someone is lucky enough to spend a large part of their childhood running around the Krkonoše forests, it is clear that they want to give their own offspring that freedom and closeness to nature. And so was Ivana.
When she found herself on maternity leave, she had a dream. A dream that reminded her of her travels to the East. A dream of a place where a real Mongolian yurt hides among the trees and where her son experiences the same adventures as her in the Giant Mountains. And so the Yurt in the Wood journey began.
Ecological glamping with a fireplace, terrace, sauna and hot tub was created by Ivana with her family and friends with her own hands WITHOUT the intervention of heavy equipment. Respect for forests is too deeply rooted in Ivana's soul for that. Couples in love come here to enjoy romance in privacy, families with children are grateful for the pleasant, comfortable and above all safe environment in close connection with Czech nature.
Come and discover a piece of Mongolia near the village with the purely Czech name "Hřibojedy". Relaxing in the embrace of trees, sleeping in a traditional yurt with a view of the stars and the possibility of meditation in a private wellness... Isn't that exactly what you expect from Slow Travel rest?
A wellness yurt in the woods... Have you ever heard of such a thing? Have you been here before?
A yurt is a typical Mongolian circular dwelling. Ours is protected against winter, snow, rain, and unbearable heat. Right next to the yurt you will find a shed with a bathroom and wellness area, equipped kitchen and fireplace. And then all around there is only the kind calm of the Krkonoše Mountains, leafy forest cover, birds resting in the branches and sometimes a curious doe.
ACCOMMODATION IN A YURT FOR 2-4 VACATIONERS
In the middle of the circular magic is a skylight with a fantastic day and night view. Beneath it lies a double bed from which you can observe the beauty. And even if it's cloudy, the view from the window is (like) painted thanks to the hand-drawn ornaments. The yurt can easily fit 2 extra beds if more of you come.
The interior of the yurt is minimalistic, but absolutely sufficient. Shelves, tables, lighting and a small kitchenette with full coffee and tea equipment. You can find a full kitchen under the shed by the yurt, but we'll talk about that below.
You can enjoy comfort both in a painted yurt with an electric heater and in the adjacent private wellness area with a hot tub and a Finnish sauna. You can park your car within sight of the yurt, so if you don't feel like walking too much, you don't have to. We don't have Wi-Fi or TV, but the cell phone signal is good here, so you don't have to worry about being completely cut off from civilization.
The shower with warm water is connected to the boiler, so you can enjoy hygienic comfort even in the middle of the woods. The dry toilet is located separately, but even here, thanks to the fragrant oils and the soothing view, we would unashamedly call it comfortable.
When you wake up in soft duvets and take a warm shower, you might forget for a moment that you are in the middle of the woods. But the spectacular kitchen, embedded in the rock, will quickly remind you of this. The view from it is indescribable.
We assume that you came to us to relax, so we have arranged everything so that you don't have to drive anything and think about nothing.
ACCOMMODATION WITH BREAKFAST AND PLACE FOR BARBECUE
In the kitchen in the quarry (!), which is equipped for carefree cooking, you have hot and cold drinking water at your disposal. For this, we have prepared the basic ingredients (pasta, cereals, spices...) and a self-service bar (nuts, chips, biscuits, beer...). You will also find several bottles of quality wine from Pálava to make the moments spent in the "wilderness" even wilder!
Heat radiates from the alcohol cooker with 2 hotplates, from the fireplace and from the grill. Just choose. If you are interested, we can also prepare meat for the grill. Cooling takes place in a special refrigerator embedded in the rock. The rock cools even in the hottest days, which is great.
We love coffee, which is why we put a lot of effort into choosing it. We contacted the small family roaster Volkafe, based in Trutnov, where it has been roasting since 2000. For preparation, the yurt is equipped with a moka pot and a French press.
Don't worry about breakfast. We have prepared fresh ingredients (ham, cheese, eggs, bread, yogurts, butter...) for you in advance, so that you can do everything as you like, and above all, worry-free.
With us, he rests perfectly. Forest walks, sitting with wine by the fire, or intense relaxation in an outdoor hot tub or a fragrant sauna in a barrel. There is also a relaxing terrace with deckchairs near the jacuzzi, where you can relax in our soft bathrobes.
Three kilometers from us you will find Braun's Nativity carved in the rock. Of the original 26 figures, only ten have been preserved - the famous Baroque artist Matyáš Bernard Braun sculpted them for you already in 1732. The intention was to create a kind of meditation and excursion place for spa guests of the Kuks Hospital. Mother Nature and the Vandal Cousins signed the work, but it is still a work worthy of a visit and admiration.
We certainly don't need to introduce the baroque dream, Kuks Hospital. A beautiful garden, permanent and short-term exhibitions inside the complex, the monumental Church of the Holy Trinity, allegories of Virtues and Vices... Here you can meditate on life all day long.
If you enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of spa towns, be sure to visit Velichovky. Enjoy a walk along the linden avenue and the picturesque spa architecture. Stop by the Empire mansion with a mansard roof from 1803 and let yourself be carried away by the beauty of the Masaryk House of the First Republic.
Not far from the yurt, you can jump directly onto the cycle path that will take you all the way to Hořice, Miletín or Dvor Králové. We are also surrounded by the educational trail Půjdem tobetlém, so whether you go left or right, there are interesting boards waiting for you everywhere. The route of the St. Jacob's Trail and the Karel Jaromír Erben Path also intersect in the vicinity.
