Do you like simple stories? Then we invite you. On a plot in Podkarpacie, we have built a cottage, from which there is a view of nothing at all. Around only patches of grass, an orchard, hills in the distance. In front of the hut there is a sauna, deckchairs, a sitting area ideal for morning coffee. And that's it. We don't know if Julia Roberts has heard of Kalwaria Pacławska, but if they were shooting the next part of "Eat, Pray and Love", you can come to us. Because in Jabłoniowy Orchard we focus on what is essential in life. And you only have to cook it yourself, because we don't hang around, there are only you and nature. We will tell you where to buy the best cheese in the area. You will then eat them overlooking the pastures below, where the cows whose milk they were made of grazed. So enjoy the simplicity, in a place where you can hear the grass growing and life goes on in the rhythm of nature. We will take care of you and make sure that you do not miss anything.
Our cottage is waiting for you, located behind the Podkarpackie village of Kalwaria Pacławska, in a picturesque area. The cottage is 70 m² and can accommodate up to 6 people. Upstairs we have two double bedrooms, so if a group of 6 people arrive, two lucky guests sleep downstairs on a fold-out sofa. We also have two extra beds for children, if you want to come with them. Upstairs, in the summer, you can turn on the air conditioning.
Downstairs, there is a living room with a TV ready for lazy evenings with Netflix. The kitchenette connects to the dining area, where you can eat peacefully. We also have TVs in both bedrooms upstairs.
You will achieve complete relaxation in the garden. There you will find a sauna (the cost of using it is PLN 60 for 2 hours of sauna), a platform with loungers, on which you can lie down, gaze into the distance or read a book, there is also a shelter with garden furniture and curtains, where you can slowly savor your meals.
The cottage is located on a fenced, 5-are plot of land bordering a cottage for rent belonging to our daughter. We have great internet, so you can easily drop by for work shifts. You can work from the table in the kitchen or spread out on the terrace.
The cottage is at your sole disposal, so you will have to take care of the food yourself. In the kitchen you will find everything you need to cook what you like. For summer evenings, we recommend a barbecue, which you can use in the garden. Unfortunately we do not have a dishwasher. Please take into account that the nearest shop is 4 km from us, so it is good to do some shopping before your arrival.
Sometimes you will be able to see cows grazing in the pastures below our cottage. There is a man in Pacław who makes delicious cheese from their milk - we'll give you the contact details. On the other hand, on the farm, which is located in the direction of Rybotycze, the owners organize wine tasting with goat cheese.
And an important piece of information for gourmets: they make really good cheese in the Bieszczady Mountains. The smoked ones are called gazdowski, pucoki or bruski. They are similar to oscypek, but not oscypek. You can also buy delicious bryndza from the shepherds. The best cheeses are sold on the route of the Large Bieszczady Beltway in Brzegi Górne and at Nikos's in the Czar PGR agritourism farm in Wańkowa. The truest cheese-making region is the commune of Komańcza. in Osławica, Wisłok Wielki, Smolnik and Dołżyca.
This place was created to be bored, so if you don't like boredom, it may be that you're better off somewhere else. The entertainment we recommend is: going for long walks around the neighborhood, reading books and listening to podcasts, morning yoga on a wooden platform, catching up on the series on the couch (or in bed, because there is a TV in each bedroom), sessions in the sauna. Long conversations with people with whom you ended up in Jabłoniowy Orchard, cooking together and meals eaten outdoors are also good.
If this repertoire of activities in the spirit of slow is not enough for you, we can recommend something more.
We are located on the edge of Kalwaria Pacławska, a small town with only 160 inhabitants. Kalwaria is old, because the Baroque politician, philosopher and writer, Andrzej Maksymilian Fredro, called the Polish Tacitus, founded it in 1665. Today, a bell hangs in the local church to commemorate this generous founder. Aleksander Fredro considered himself his descendant and borrowed Andrzej's mottos for his plays, for example "Revenge". So, if you like history and literature, you have a good reason to visit this place.
A part of the Calvary is the Baroque Basilica of the Discovery of the Holy Cross. It contains e.g. The eighteenth-century altars by the Lviv woodcarver Maciej Polejowski, a representative of the Lviv rococo sculpture. His high-class works are distinguished by the elegance of gestures and facial expressions of the figures and the elegant draping of the robes. Art historians will appreciate it, and all the rest can feel like on a scientific tour and have fun searching for the most dignified figure in the basilica.
Interesting fact: it is in this basilica that each motorcycle season in Podkarpacie begins and ends. The village also comes alive in August, when the feast of Our Lady of Herbs is celebrated and a church fair is held in front of the basilica.
In addition, our location is an ideal starting point for trips to the Bieszczady Mountains and visiting Podkarpacie in general. Here are just a few ideas you can use.
– For a sense of freedom and beautiful views, we send you to Połoninki Arłamowskie. This is an unknown part of the Massif of Suchy Obycz - and that's good, because it's wild, quiet and delightful.
– You can go to the nearby village of Nowosiółki Dydyńskie to see country houses from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
– If we were you, we would also see raised bogs in the Upper San Depression. Educational paths lead through them, the views are amazing and there are rare species of plants and animals (but there are also beavers, which are just as nice to see).
- From our cottage you have about 60 km to Lake Solińskie. In the season you can meet a lot of tourists there, but it is a beautiful lake that is worth seeing. Due to the windy conditions (high location), you can sail and kitesurf on it. There are many picturesque hiking and biking trails around the lake.
What’s there for children?
We invite you with kids, but we honestly warn you that we do not have special attractions prepared for them here. So you have to take care of organizing your children's time yourself. The youngest farts can be boring here, although it all depends on your ingenuity. One thing is certain: there is no shortage of places to discover in our area, so you can go ahead and organize a trip to peat bogs in search of sundews and beavers or go to Lake Solińskie.
