In the clearing in Polana there was a manor house and manor buildings. Right next to it there was a stream that suddenly flowed black gold in 1883, giving rise to the first oil pipelines in Galicia. There were also two schools, a mill, over a thousand inhabitants.
Decades later, there was nothing and no one here.
Today in our part of Bieszczady there are still more ghosts than people. The end of the world turned from the south on the heel, abandoning the increasingly crowded pastures for the forgotten Otryt range. There are not many trails here, and the only restaurant in the village is actually a bar, where dust from the People's Republic of Poland floats and glass bottles with colorful orangeade clink. We, a family from Szczecin, are also on the sidelines, whose life has thrown us 1,000 km from the original plans. We host you in an almost hundred-year-old cottage, in 2-, 3- and 4-person rooms, with meals included. And we feed mainly with sentiments, sweet as proziaki poured with honey and crispy like fried fuczki.
We invite you slowly. Everything will be fine here.
We came across the Bieszczady Mountains while still in college. With each holiday trip, we fell in love with this place more and more, and each year it became more and more difficult for us to leave. So we bought a plot of land where there used to be a manor house and manor buildings, but in 1929 they were replaced by a wooden cottage. We left the decision to change our lives to fate by putting our new house built near Szczecin up for sale. After two hours, he was the first - and as it turned out - the final volunteer. Sometimes fate simply knows best what is our path.
We invite you to three rooms - Charming for 4 people, Nice for 3 people and Cozy for 2 people. There are also common areas at your disposal, i.e. a room with a dining room and a fireplace corner, as well as a farm with deckchairs, sculptures, hammocks and fruit trees. We provide six parking spaces, directly accessible from the asphalt access road. It is possible to charge electric and hybrid cars for a fee.
The house itself is hidden on a side road in the town of Polana, located under the Otryt range. Our town is a nice base for soaking your feet in Solina, riding along the Little Bieszczady Loop or discovering the still untrodden Bieszczady trails.
There is also one additional four-person room in the house, currently unavailable through Slowhop. In total, the maximum number of guests we can accept at one time is 13 people.
We want to feed you with attention to local flavors, so during breakfast you will taste regional dishes. We prepare food from local products.
Breakfast is served from 8:00. The meal is included in the price of the stay.
The cheeses we serve come from the milk of cows grazing in the Bieszczady meadows, and we get meat from friendly smokehouses. We also use fresh eggs, vegetables and homemade preserves.
At home and next door ...
If you are a homebody on vacation and after arriving at your destination, the attractions around the house are enough for you, then we are pleased to invite you to our meadow. You can play football or badminton there, make a fire, read a book on a hammock or look for stars between the branches of an old apple tree. There is also a lot of space to rest in our room, on the couch next to the fireplace.
A bit further from home ...
You just need to cross the road to find yourself on a dirt path. A forest begins nearby and there is a TABUN Hucul horse farm. Within an hour's walk you will go to the cave in Rosalin (also known as Jahybta Cave), and the Main Carpathian Bicycle Trail leads through our town, which will take you to the Solińskie Lake. It is also worth visiting the church of St. Nicholas in Polana, which is considered the oldest in the Polish Bieszczady.
Even further from home ...
A dozen or so kilometers from Polana you will find the Bieszczady History Museum with interesting and diverse exhibits. Going further, you will get to the viewpoint in the Starry Sky Park above Lutowiska. The fields visible from there may seem familiar to you - they were silent heroes in the film Pan Wołodyjowski. The further south you go, the more trails, popular attractions and iconic restaurants become. However, all this translates into the number of tourists, so take it into account in the summer season and in this part of the Bieszczady Mountains, do not expect lonely vagrants.
What’s there for children?
We want to provide you with the best conditions for rest, in peace and quiet. That is why we invite adults and children over 12 years of age to our doorstep.
