There's a good chance you're wondering "Ciafro what?" Well, Ciafrotowo, from the Kociewie word "ciafrotać", meaning to talk a lot. Because when we created our home for creative work, we imagined that you would come here to stay together and talk. Meet, organize workshops, create something together, work at a large table, brainstorm and think creatively. And as befits a creative house, we left the walls in the hands of an artist. They are decorated with works by Toruń muralist Andrzej Poprost, who, inspired by characters invented by children from a local school, created Banda Kota Ciafrot. The band are fairy-tale characters who talk about Kociewie. They will take you into the field to explore this fantastic land along the trail of blue boulders.
So you already know that it's good to work and relax here, because you can take breaks in nature. For swimming in the lake, kayaking, cycling and walking in the forest. You can come with your immediate family and choose only one room, and if you run workshops, courses or training, come to us with your students and rent the entire house. We will make sure that the natural space, delicious coffee and homemade cake will be a pleasant addition to you while gaining new knowledge. Our room can accommodate up to 45 people and is equipped with wooden tables, colorful chairs, a projector, a screen, a sound system and kitchen facilities. Look for us among the forests and fields in the Tuchola Forest, between Toruń and Gdańsk, in the small settlement of Średnia Huta.

This is a house that, depending on your needs, can be a guesthouse with just two rooms or an exclusive house with accommodation for 13 people with ideal facilities for organizing workshops for 22-45 people.
The whole house consists of:
Ground floor
It has a common area (56 m2) that can accommodate 35 people at tables or up to 45 people in theater style.
The room is equipped with:

On the ground floor there is also a kitchen with full tableware. There are 2 toilets downstairs, including one adapted for disabled people.
Floors (3 rooms for groups or 2 rooms for individual guests)
Green
5 or 6-person, 41.6 m2, with a bathroom (the bathroom has a window). The room is equipped with single beds, bedside tables, table with chairs, and clothes hangers. It has a separate entrance from the yard (metal stairs).
Blue
Room for 4 people, 31.2 m2, with a bathroom (the bathroom has a window). The room is equipped with single beds, bedside tables, table with chairs, and clothes hangers. The room is entered via stairs from the corridor on the ground floor of the house.
Mint
2 or 3-person, 23.4 m2 with a bathroom (the bathroom has a window). The room is equipped with one double bed and one single bed, bedside tables and clothes hangers.
Note: when the house becomes a guesthouse for individual guests, this third room is occupied by us - the hosts. However, when you rent the entire house, we give you all the rooms.
The house is year-round and heated.
We prepare breakfast for our guests. We bake bread, we have milk straight from the cow, we try to source as many local products as possible.
Ciafrotowo is a place created for quiet relaxation, creative projects, bonding, meetings and retreat in peace. You can do very little, write a book, practice yoga, organize a class reunion after many years, gather people you don't know for workshops, organize teamwork or integration. You can come in a group and rent the entire house, or you can individually - occupy one of the three rooms.
Apart from the fact that human, car and air traffic is negligible here, there is a lot going on. There is a forest, rivers, a lake, nature and delicious local food. We plan to organize various workshops from time to time, but don't hesitate to rent our space for your ideas.
We organize workshops for groups of at least 6 people for an additional fee. These may include, for example, meetings with the making of natural cosmetics or the creation and decoration of Kociewie angels. Everything in a wonderful atmosphere, as Maryla Rodowicz sang, "I only like good company", with good coffee and homemade cake.
We have wifi, mobile coverage and supplies in a nearby shop.
For those tired of the city, we have an orchard, a forest and a place by the bonfire. Lake Rybno is located nearby (3 km along the forest road, 4 km along the bicycle path). Extremely charming, with small bays around the lake where you can relax in a private company. You can also go to the Kociewskie Sea, i.e. Kałębie Lake (10 km from us).
Our surroundings are also a perfect area for lovers of Nordic walking, cycling (there are 637 kilometers of routes in the Kociewskie Bicycle Route network), kayaking, fishing and mushroom picking, and walks can last forever.
If you feel like going kayaking, just 15 km from us there are several routes to choose from: from a route for lazy people, where paddling is more of a hindrance than a help, and a mandatory stop is freshly fried trout at Basia's, to routes for professional athletes and long-distance runners. We most often paddle on the Stara Rzeka, but we also recommend the Wda, Brda and Wierzyca rivers.
What’s there for children?
The classes, the report of which you can see in the photos above, are conducted during group events organized in Ciafrotowo. We do not run workshops for children on a daily basis. On the other hand, a large table in the common room can inspire you to spend time together creatively.
