If you delved into the old names of villages (and we mean really old), you would find all sorts of interesting things. For example, something like the community of royal dog handlers. Don't you believe? It is enough to familiarize yourself with the old writings and glance back to the 13th century. And we did not invent anything, because today this village is proud of the name Smižany.

The fate of this village was really long and varied. We can also start by saying that he is closely connected with the lords of Spiš castle, to which the Čáky family also belonged for a few centuries. It was with them that it played "chemistry and they were judged for a long time". Let the salt warehouse grow before our eyes in Hornádská kotlina, later the mansion of the aforementioned noble family, or even the Smižian masha with its barns and hammer. And to top it all off, add the wild beauty of the nearby Slovak Paradise to the historical snacks.

Here in Smižany, we reconstructed the old Čáky manor house from the 19th century under the watchful eye of preservationists. We have preserved the unusual atmosphere of the historical space and prepared 3 separate and comfortable apartments for you, our guests.

We recently renovated Čáky's manor from the 19th century under the careful supervision of preservationists. Our effort was to preserve the original elements, walls, wooden beams and the overall atmosphere of this historic space, thanks to which we now offer year-round accommodation in attractive apartments. They have a separate entrance from the exterior staircase and are located in a part of the building that was used as a granary in ancient times. You can rent any of them individually or as a larger group all at once.
 
APARTMENT WITH 2 BEDROOMS, 109m2 (max. 4 persons)
You will find this our most spacious apartment in the attic. The atmosphere is completed by the wooden beams, which we let stand out here. You will have at your disposal:
- spacious living room with couch, table, cable TV (50+ channels) and fireplace
- in the kitchen there is a fully equipped modern kitchen unit with a refrigerator, hob, convection oven, microwave oven, electric kettle, dishwasher and of course there is also an atypical solid wood dining table
- you will sleep in two separate bedrooms (both have double beds)
- bathroom with shower
- inside the apartment, we have also hidden a spacious wardrobe, which will certainly please during longer stays

METZONE APARTMENT, 70m2 (max. 3-4 persons)
This cozy apartment is an ideal choice for a romantic stay for a couple or a small family.
- on the ground floor (approx. 45m2), guests have access to a new design kitchen equipped with a hob, convection oven, microwave oven, electric kettle, coffee maker, fridge with freezer, dishwasher and dining area
- in the open space you will also find a cozy living room with a couch, fireplace and TV
- bathroom with shower and toilet is available right at the entrance to the apartment
- in the cozy attic there is a bedroom with a double bed (160x200) and a transitional room with a desk and a sofa bed (140x200) for two more sleepers
- another toilet with a sink is located in the attic, this one is also equipped with a washing machine and a dryer

ONE-FLOOR APARTMENT WITH 2 BEDROOMS, 90m2 (max. 5 persons)
This apartment is located in the attic and is recommended for 2 couples or for parents with 2-3 children.
- the space hides a spacious living room with a sofa bed, a TV and a fireplace to make the evening atmosphere more pleasant
- the open space is connected to a modern kitchen equipped with a hob, convection oven, microwave oven, electric kettle, coffee machine, fridge with freezer, dishwasher and dining and bar seating
- perfect privacy is provided by two bedrooms, both with double beds (160x200)
- a bathroom with a shower and bathtub is a matter of course, the toilet is available separately
- the apartment also includes a handy utility room with a washing machine, dryer and storage space for luggage

WELLNESS & OUTDOOR SITTING
In the space of Čáky manor, you will also be able to indulge yourself in sweet relaxation. On the ground floor of the building, guests will find a wellness area with a Finnish sauna, an infrared sauna and a relaxation room. For perfect comfort, we have also placed a bathroom with a shower and a separate toilet.

Outside in the yard, there is no shortage of outdoor seating with the possibility of roasting, grilling or cooking pot stew. And if you like it here, you can throw a coin into the reconstructed historical well and wish that you will come back soon ;)

PARKING
On the street in front of the building or recommended by us directly in the yard, safe behind a massive wooden gate.

It doesn't matter which of the apartments catches your eye. In each one, we have prepared a space not only for baking and cooking enthusiasts.

Each kitchen includes a hob, convection oven, microwave, electric kettle, bean coffee machine, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher and dining area. In the apartment with 2 bedrooms, there is also a bar area in addition to the kitchen.

Has anyone here asked about the Slovak Paradise? Of course, Čingov, as the gateway to Paradise, is only 3 km away from us, and there you can look forward to everything your heart and soul crave. Nature in its most beautiful form.

Whether you need to talk about hiking and cycling routes, we doubt. But in addition to the most famous ones, such as Suchá Belá, Kláštorisko or Tomášovský vyhád, we are happy to recommend you others. So if you lack inspiration, we are here to help you.

Čáky Manor is an excellent strategic point to other places as well:
- for history and monuments, go to nearby Levoča and certainly also to Spišský hrad, Spišská Kapitula and Žehra
- for hiking, you can also go to the rock town of Dreveník
- for those who prefer winter and winter sports, we recommend the nearby ski slopes, and if you want, you will be less than half an hour from us to the High Tatras
- if you are with children (or if you like splashing in the water yourself), try heading to Vrbov or Poprad
- if you prefer mineral springs in a different environment, go in search of a little-known "geyser" between Hozelec and Gánovci (so it really is a mineral spring or, if you want, a well with a pipe and a small lake).

But even our Smižany are not to be thrown away. Feel free to set aside time and go for a wander around our village full of contrasts.
- For example, the Church of the Ascension of St. Cross (Námestie M. Pajdušák) from the second half of the 13th century.
- Also go to the renovated mansion (which was once a salt warehouse, later copper and then a school). In case you are curious about what it looks like inside, book a visit in advance.
- And you can also discover the birthplace of Kpt. Sticker and Ethnographic Museum Spiš.
