I'm a sucker for jam. That's why the first thing you'll see upon arrival are the colorful jars painted on the exterior wall of the villa. My grandmother's pantry shelves were once filled with real ones, and she always had a kind word for everyone. However, she left behind not only warm memories but also a home in Wisła Jawornik. I decided to take care of it and create a guesthouse where guests would feel as comfortable as we once did at Grandma Marta's. Since then, I've been hosting solo travelers, couples, groups of friends, and families with children. Our ten rooms have room for everyone.
I'll tell you more about Wisła itself. None of this will be objective, because I love this place too much to retain even a shred of objectivity. We have wonderful trails with views of the Tatra Mountains and the Slovak Fatra Mountains, and over a dozen ski lifts (the two closest are a 5-minute drive from the villa).
I invite you to the Villa, just like at Grandma's. I invite you to my home!
It's easy to reach us. Coming from Ustroń, you pass Czantoria, then Wisła Obłaziec station, and when you see a roundabout next to Orlen and Lidl, it's a sign that you're almost there. At the roundabout, take the first exit, cross the bridge over the Vistula river... stop, it's here!
We have 10 rooms for you (4 of them can turn into two two-room studios for four people) and a large apartment. Each room is equipped with a bathroom, TV and two equipped kitchens. The guests of the apartment have their own bathroom, kitchen and terrace for their exclusive use. In addition, everyone can use our unique wooden room, garden, covered gazebo, terrace and parking lot. The Vistula River and the Jawornik stream flow by the house, and a forest begins a few steps away.
Our rooms give a lot of room for maneuver and various configurations.
For 2 people:
- there are 8 rooms in total.
For 3 people:
- there are two rooms with 3 single beds (can be joined as a double with one common mattress)
- there are two double rooms with a double bed or two single beds and a sofa bed (as an extra bed).
For 4 people:
- there are two two-room studios for four people (two double beds in one studio and one double bed and two single beds in the other)
The studios are an ideal solution for a 2+2 family, because they are simply two smaller double rooms, each with its own bathroom and its own TV - both rooms are connected by a small hall.
For 4-6 people:
- a large apartment, i.e. two large rooms, with four single beds (can be joined as two double beds) and a sofa bed, own kitchen and terrace, as well as a private entrance.
Despite all this, fully equipped kitchens are available, a shop is 300 meters from the house, and the charming Bombon Cafe breakfast spot in the center of Wisła is a 15-minute walk away.
--------------------------------------------------------
We offer two shared kitchens – one on each floor – at your disposal. Feel free to use them. Apartment guests have their own kitchenette.
There are many trusted culinary spots in the area. Here are a few:
- Chata Olimpijczyka Jasia i Helenki (a highlander-style inn),
- Kącik Zbójnicki Restaurant and Fajno Chatka (next to the promenade, but with a unique atmosphere),
- Soszów Mountain Shelter (a place with soul, homemade cakes, and a seasonal menu).
There are so many options here that I'm not sure where to begin. So I'll just start with the sports attractions and see where it takes us :)
SKIING
We have a cool thing called the Wisła SKIPASS – WISPASS, which connects 14 ski resorts in the area. With one card, you can ski at a dozen places without any restrictions. But we also have an even cooler feature: a ski pass discount for our guests!
The nearest ski lifts are the Stok Ski Station (1.6 km), the Skolnity Ski Station (2 km), and Soszów (3.4 km). Stok and Soszów are located in the Jawornik Valley, so you don't have to take the main road to get to them. There are plenty of rental shops in town, including ski touring skis – so don't worry about running out of equipment. As instructors (unfortunately, we're no longer professionally active ;) ), we'll be happy to recommend and advise you on the best slopes to visit, which instructor or ski school to sign up with, and where to rent equipment.
And at this point, we'd also like to draw your attention to the extraordinary skis Olek creates in his workshop. The FORSZTY not only look amazing, but they also ride great. You can see, touch, test, and, of course, buy them here ;)
ICE RINK
The newest winter attraction in Wisła - the Ice Rink and Park of Lights in the city center.
BIKE
A paved bike path runs by the Villa, running through Wisła and Ustroń, all the way to Brenna. This is a very pleasant excursion for people of all ages. You'll find more challenges at the Skolnity bike park and, of course, on the Beskid trails. We'll be happy to advise you where to rent bikes (traditional and electric).
HIKING TRIPS
The nearest hiking trail (blue) starts behind the gate and leads to Soszów. You can use it to make an interesting loop: one way along the blue trail to Soszów, and back along the green and red trails (total 12 km). In Soszów, a stop at the mountain hut is a must, to listen to Stare Dobre Małżeństwo (Old Good Marriage), sample something from Kasia's menu, and drink one of the local beers, chosen by Paweł. The walk can easily be extended by climbing Stożek or Czantoria.
If the weather is good, you'll see stunning views of the Tatra Mountains and the Slovak Fatra Mountains from Barania Góra. The loop begins at the parking lot in Wisła Czarne, passes through Barania, and descends through the Biała Wisełka valley.
SOMETHING FOR WATER FANCY GUIDES
There are two swimming pools less than 2 km away: the popular Tropikana at the Gołębiewski Hotel and the more intimate one at the Stok Hotel. Additionally, in the Center, behind the Amphitheater, there's the new Wisła Swimming Pools complex – an outdoor heated swimming pool with a sandy beach, water slides, etc., open only in summer. Swimming is prohibited in the artificially created Czerniańskie Lake, but it's worth a visit for a walk around the dam and a view from the picturesque observation deck. A beautiful, hidden spot is the Gańczorka reservoir near the source of the Olza River. You won't be able to swim there either, but it's a good place for a quiet stroll.
OTHER IDEAS
Or rather, just a few (or a dozen) of them :) I'm always happy to add more after you arrive at the Villa.
- Observation Tower on Skolnity
- a walk along the city promenade (of course, it's rather crowded in high season),
- Ski Jumping Hill named after Adam Małysz and a trip to the starting tower,
- Cieńkowska Loop,
- Adam Małysz Trophy Gallery,
- "the roof of the Vistula", i.e., Skolnity Mountain with numerous attractions for children and adults,
- a trip to the Museum of Magical Realism (I think the name itself is intriguing and inviting enough!),
- visiting the Jerzy Kukuczka Memorial Room, run by his wife Cecylia,
- climbing in the Base Camp Istebna rope park,
- seeing the famous Koniaków lace (preferably at the tiny but charming Koniaków Lace Center),
- scratching sheep and tasting oscypek cheese at the Shepherding Center (also in Koniaków, right next to the lace center),
- a quick hike up Ochodzita for views from the Wołoska Gate,
- a visit to the ethnographic Kawoluka Cottage (led by Mr. Janek is a great and witty storyteller),
- walking to the Czech side and looking for picturesque Czech houses (e.g., near Soszów).
Children are welcome to the playground and to a special play corner in the room. As a mother of two sons, I understand the nutritional challenges of young parents. That is why I try to meet your needs as much as possible and prepare breakfasts so that everyone - regardless of age - will find something for themselves.
We also have games, travel cots, baby baths and high chairs at our disposal. The area itself is also very child-friendly and you will easily find a lot of common attractions.
We have routers on each floor, the Internet works flawlessly also on the terrace and in the garden. Larger groups can work in our dining room - there will be plenty of space.
