If you have ever had a thought: how about a house in the countryside? Or at least a plot on RODoS? - I come to you with relief. How about a habitat in the Lublin region, where the nearest neighbor is 300 meters away, and raspberries for breakfast porridge are collected in pajamas? I am happy to share this pleasure with you. If you have already started packing your bags and setting up your GPS for Olszyn, let me tell you a bit more.
The habitat was originally supposed to be the location for my mother's hives, but the place turned out to be so charming that the bees had to share this plot with us. Fortunately, there was plenty of room. So we built a house for 6 people and renovated a small one (4 people), which now serves as an extra bed when a larger team gathers for the trip. And then it was time for the lab. For composing bouquets of dahlias, warming up by the fireplace on rainy evenings, trips for elegant coffee to the Cieleśnica Palace, and even enough time for remote work. On one of the three terraces or at your desk. Life here flows in the rhythm of the Bug and is in no hurry. Local attractions include walks to the forest, long breakfasts on the terrace, resting in the crown of a walnut or canoeing on the Bug and Krzna rivers. And there's no need to mess around, sometimes simplicity is what we need. So if you want to collect pulps for an apple pie, go out with a bowl for raspberries to the garden, and even sunbathe topless without the risk of peeping, then I cordially invite you. This place is not only peace and quiet. This is a place where you will rediscover simple pleasures.
We have the entire habitat for you exclusively, i.e. total privacy. The large house is the main house, for 6 people. When a larger group gathers you, then you can also take an extra house - for 4 people. So 10 people can relax in Siedlisko at the same time. It is not possible to rent only a small house, because it does not have a real kitchen. We do not rent a small house separately, we treat it as a nice bedroom with a small kitchenette (without a stove).
The big house is quite new. We built it for our family, as a house outside the city, in total idyll. Now we want to share it with you.
Ground floor:
- a living room with a fireplace (36 m2),
- dining room with kitchen (26 m2),
- master bedroom (19 m2) with a large double bed,
- bathroom with shower (6 m2),
- laundry room (2.5 m2),
- terrace surrounding the house on three sides (approx. 60 m2).
Floor:
- room 1 (13 m2) with a bed that can be single or unfolded - for two people,
- room 2 (15 m2) with a bed that can be single or unfolded - for two people,
- bathroom with shower (about 5-6 m2),
- two utility rooms.
The small house is an original old building that we renovated. We only rent it together with a large house when there are more than 6 guests.
Has:
- living space with a fireplace, a double bed, a table, armchairs, combined with a mini kitchenette (fridge, espresso machine, cutlery, dishes) - 36 m2,
- a bathroom with a shower, approx. 9 m2,
- on the mezzanine there is a bedroom with two single beds.
There is no TV in the small house.
In addition to the houses on the plot there are:
- an elevated platform built around the trunk of an old walnut, on which we have two wooden sofas and tables. It is an additional place to rest in the shade of tree crowns,
- an underground cellar (in principle not available to guests, but we can also make it available after prior arrangement),
well,
- place for a bonfire,
- outbuilding (partially inaccessible to guests),
- woodshed,
- court,
- blueberry magazine,
- a vegetable garden and an ornamental garden.
In addition, there is an apiary on the plot (separated from the rest of the plot by a hornbeam hedge).
In the big house there is a fully equipped kitchen (we even have a planetary mixer, toaster), in the small house (serving as an extra bed) there is a small fridge, coffee maker, kettle and basic crockery and cutlery.
Fruit trees (apples, pears, plums, cherries, sweet cherries, mirabelles, walnuts, hazelnuts, etc.) grow in the area of the habitat. There is also a blueberry shop on the plot, where you can try currants (red, black, white), gooseberries (white and red), strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, haskap and quince. In addition, there is a vegetable garden in the backyard garden, where, among others, tomatoes, cucumbers, root vegetables, basic herbs, etc.
The vegetable garden was established for our private use. However, I will not be angry if you occasionally nibble on something from it.
You can buy our fresh honey on site, straight from the apiary operating in the habitat. Such fresh honey is second to none.
Welcome to a place where you can enjoy the little pleasures of everyday life. We created this enclave of peace, as it seemed to us, only for our family. And then came the thought that it would be a pity that such a beautiful corner would be empty when we were not there. We rest here completely, regenerate quickly and just as quickly forget about the rush of the city.
That's why there are no flashy attractions here. There are terraces, however, planned so that, depending on the season or exposure, you can enjoy the sun or avoid it. There is a "breakfast" terrace next to the kitchen, where you can eat breakfast in the beautiful morning sun. There is also a south terrace and a west terrace for sunset dinners. On either side of the large house are two large tables on the terraces. These tables have different lengths, but the same height, so they can be combined. Then one almost 5-meter table will be created. We also have a high platform with comfortable furniture, built in the crown of an old walnut. There is a set of different tablecloths in the wardrobes to be able to cover the table / tables appropriately depending on the mood. There are also various vases for flowers to make your interior more pleasant and create various arrangements. My mother takes care of the bees. We take care of the garden together with my mother. So if you get dizzy from the number of varieties of dahlias or roses, it's our merit. Do not hesitate to make beautiful bouquets of these flowers.
The area is large enough (4000 m2) that you can hide here in solitude, you can also spend time together (depending on your mood). You can also organize a bonfire or barbecue on site, you can cook together and read books (in my big house I have a lot of books in Polish and German, including a lot of books for children, also in both languages).
As for what to do in the area:
1. You can go for long walks in the forest (which starts 100 m from the plot).
2. You can go on a bike trip (bring your bikes). The famous Green Velo bicycle trail runs nearby. The area itself is also very interesting, because it is located on the Bug river (we have about 4 km to the Bug River).
3. Go kayaking, starting approx. 6 km from the plot (in Malowa Góra). On site, you can go kayaking on the wild (in this section) Krzno River and on the Bug River. Rafting on the Bug, however, provides certain emotions, because it is a border river. Therefore, be sure to stick to the left side.
4. Jump out (5 minutes by car) for coffee and something delicious to the Cieleśnica Palace.
5. Discover the Podlaski Przełom Bugu Landscape Park with the beautiful reserve of Podlaska Switzerland. It is a beautiful and unspoilt area. Perfect for hiking and cycling trips.
6. Have a picnic like Monet's "Breakfast on the Grass". There are essential picnic accessories at home: two large picnic blankets, several thermoses.
What’s there for children?
Kids have full freedom of holidays in the countryside with us. We come here with our children ourselves, which is why the rooms are also adapted to the needs of children.
What’s there for employees?
The place is very peaceful. Among the fields at the edge of the forest without neighbors behind the fence. You can basically work in every room and on three terraces. I also have a printer.
In the two bedrooms upstairs there are desks with chairs, in the living area there is a large table with eight chairs. In a small house there is a table with four chairs. On the terrace, you can join two tables, which will create a large 5-meter table for working together. In both houses we have: 2 double beds and 4 single beds (two of them fold out to form double beds).
