It's 2020. My mother and I buy a wooden cabin in Roztocze. We will renovate it until it becomes charming. You would say: the plan is incredibly perfect! However, the story of this renovation is a ready-made scenario for a comedy-drama.
It would feature us, together with our husbands, armed with angle grinders. And also my beloved grandfather, who explained how "shit" used to insulate the walls. There would also be Adam the electrician, a chatterbox, who didn't take the money because, as he says, he stole so much in his life (from the sovereign, not the peasants) that now he works for good people for free, because that's how it is on the way to heaven. There would be carpenters who built our terrace and took off the roof, but they forgot to put it on, so they made an unplanned swimming pool in the attic, from which there are stains on the ceiling to this day. And there would be a carpenter who stole our doorframe. And Zdun, who allowed to look at himself at work, even though superstitions do not allow. And he conjured up such a miracle for us that now all the village impoverished people want to live only with us behind the stove. This is the genesis of Czar Paar.
And the name? It's a word game. Like that game show by Bożena Walter from the 90s. Charm, because the house is charming. And Paary is the name of the village. The only village in Poland with two vowels in its name. It is also possible that it is the only one that lies on the border of two provinces, which is why one of the households is said to have a kitchen in Lubelskie, but a bathroom in Podkarpackie. But I don't know if it's intentional or not.
However, I am not making up when I say that Roztocze is a magical land. This is where we come from, we know every corner of it. Here, as a child, my mother herded cows, and I collected butterflies in a bucket. We can take you to the field paths and show you where devils build hell and where obereks dance. And if you are of those who like to laze around in a hammock on the terrace, and in the morning bare feet cool with dew, then we have our house full of wonders for you. Sit back and listen to him.

My name is Klaudia, and Czar Paar is a place that I create together with my mother Małgorzata and our husbands. Some time ago my mother returned to Poland after many years of working in hot Italy. Too young to retire, so she was looking for a job. I, on the other hand, dreamed of a distraction from work, something where I could get tired and clear my head. This is how we came up with the idea of buying a wooden house in one of the Roztocze villages. The idea seemed incredibly perfect! Well, what could go wrong? Well... as it turned out, it wasn't easy to renovate such an old cottage. But after nearly 2 years of renovation struggles, we can say that it was worth it, because I will say immodestly that it is beautiful here!
