This is the vestibule of Hell. Hell is only 2.5 km away and is part of our village - just like the Piano hamlet. In the Gorlickie Depression, a land through which wine flowed from Hungary to Poland along the old trade routes, where Lemkos and Jews marked their presence, and where the world's first street kerosene lamp was erected - this is where our farm is located. For centuries, the great history took place among the hills and in the towns nearby. It has left numerous traces: it is in our region that there are the largest number of monuments inscribed on the UNESCO list in Poland. You can make a trip to all of them once you're here. But for now, rest.
Where? In a place where we write our own little story. And although the circumstances of nature are phenomenal, the events taking place are somewhat less significant. Kids run around our house from 1926 from the morning and help with farm work. One of the curious horses peeks over the fence, nibbling on the grass in the pasture. One of us collects fruit and vegetables for your breakfast. The beavers go about their business by the stream below. And in this scenery you: on a wooden porch with morning coffee, torn, whether today it's better for a hammock, to the forest, or to see a wooden Orthodox church. On a hill surrounded by a forest, there is a farm with, apart from pastures and orchards, 3 houses. 2 for you. A small house by the old orchard for a couple or a small group and a larger one, for 6 people, below the bobrowisko. Contrary to the name of the neighboring hamlet, everyone who visits here meets only good.
On our farm, on a hill surrounded by forests, there are two houses for rent, far from each other. We have 7 hectares of land here, which, apart from the houses, includes: our house from 1926, a pasture, a stable, 2 orchards, a forest and a garden.
The plot borders on three sides with streams.
Little House has:
– one room,
– 3 beds: 1 large one downstairs, 2 on the mezzanine,
– kitchenette with table,
– bathroom with bathtub,
– a goat for heating,
– it is located directly next to the old orchard, stable and near our house.
The Little House is heated by a goat and is open year-round.
Cottage nad Bobrowisku (large) has:
– 3 bedrooms:
· 2 with two single beds upstairs,
· 1 with a double bed downstairs,
– downstairs: living room with dining room and kitchen,
– bathroom with shower,
– covered veranda,
– it is located at the bottom of our plot, 400 m away from the rest of the buildings and the parking lot.
The cottage on Bobrowisku is heated by a fireplace and is open year-round.
Apart from us, our animals live in Sękiewiczówka: we have 8 horses, a cow, 2 goats, 2 cats, 3 dogs, chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowl and quails.
In the summer, we organize small horse camps for children (max. 6 children) who live in our house. So it may be that there will be more people on the farm, but it is quiet and it should not disturb your rest.
In winter, the dirt road leading to us is sometimes very muddy. It's best to have a 4x4 drive. If your car cannot cope, it is better to leave it 500 m away on the asphalt or with a friendly neighbor. We will come to pick you up, and we can provide our car for shopping trips.
If you notify us in advance, we will provide you with breakfast products, although we do not have one standard of baskets. It works rather like this: you tell us what you need, and we organize it at our neighbors (the cheese and fresh bread come from them) and at our place (eggs come from our hens, and in season: fruit and vegetables from our garden). We will set the price individually, depending on your needs.
For dinner, we send you to nearby restaurants or to cook in cozy cottage kitchens. Basic products such as spices and oil are in place.
If you like the wooden cutting boards that you find in the houses, you can buy them from us. This is our work, and we have been making such boards for years.
We make it a point of honor for you to be a little bored with us. They got to know what leisurely country life is like, they sat on the porch and looked into the distance, they forgot to check what was going on on Instagram. In return, they read a book that they had no time for before, and maybe did a little more than the recommended 8,000. steps per day.
First, about what you can do on site:
– use the entire large area of our farm: walk, lie in the grass, pick fruit in the orchard, soak your feet in the stream,
– interact with our animals,
– relax on a hammock or a deckchair,
– make evening bonfires and barbecues (we have a cauldron for you),
– go for walks around the neighborhood; There are many walking paths nearby.
HORSE RIDING
We will be happy to invite you to horse riding lessons, also outdoors. An hour of driving with us costs PLN 50-70.
ARCHERY
It so happens that the Polish archery champion lives in Rożnowice. If you happen to be there, we can organize a bow shooting lesson for you (for a fee). Just let us know in advance that you would be interested.
We also encourage you to get to know our area. The Gorlice Depression is full of picturesque landscapes, charming towns of ancient Galicia and fascinating open-air museums.
Biecz
They say that Biecz is a small Krakow. This may surprise you, but until mid. In the 16th century it was... one of the largest cities in Poland. There used to be three castles and a royal court here. Today, you go to Biecz to see the market square with the restored town hall, the Renaissance tower decorated with sgraffito, or the building of Queen Jadwiga's hospital from the 14th century (!) There was also a famous school of executioners in Biecz. Yes, the executioner had to finish school.
Gorlice
The Gorlice region has a rich history of the oil industry. Ignacy Łukasiewicz, an explorer, pharmacist and oil pioneer, lived in Gorlice. The world's first street kerosene lamp was erected here. Here you can visit the Magdalena Oil Industry Open-Air Museum. And these are just some of the interesting facts about this city! The urban layout from the 14th century, the Karwacjan Manor, several war cemeteries, architecturally interesting churches and the Długosz Palace - there is something to see here.
Klimkówka Reservoir
You can get to Klimkówka, a reservoir created on the Ropa River, in about 40 minutes. It's worth it, because the reservoir is picturesquely located - between forested hills. It is also not overly crowded, even in high season. You can rent a kayak, a pedal boat and go fishing here.
What’s there for children?
This is such a place that it would be a sin not to take the kids here. We have an inexhaustible wealth of rural fun for them: communing with our pets, patches of grass for running and playing together, a stream where you can soak your feet. We have three children ourselves and usually it looks like that the newcomer together with them creates a joyful group, which can be seen once in the garden, and once in the orchard. Children willingly participate in the life of the farm, and we show them what everyday life looks like on the farm. They experience close contact with nature, learn to distinguish herbs, pick fruits and vegetables.
Each house has a metal galvanized tub in which the kids bathe like in the old days (instead of an inflatable pool).
Of course, you can buy horse riding for the youngest. We will be very pleased to infect your children with our passion.
In the surrounding open-air museums, and there are many of them here, you can really spend time with the youngest. They have playgrounds and various other attractions for curious young people.
What’s there for employees?
We would not be particularly interested in working here, although of course everything can be arranged. There is no permanent wifi in the houses, but we can lend you a router. Internet is from Playa, works moderately well, but enough to send e-mails and check what's on Slack. In the large house there is a large dining table where you can spread out with a laptop.
