Welcome to the heart of the Bieszczady Mountains, in the Ciśniańsko-Wetlina Landscape Park, on the southern slope of Łopiennik (1069 m above sea level). We have a wooden house here for you, filled with comfort and maps, guides and books about local history and culture. You can read them on a comfortable sofa or on the terrace overlooking Ryczywół and Jeleni Skok. There is no visible neighborhood and several hectares of meadows and forests surrounding us.
But before going on expeditions, trails and conquering peaks, we will tell you how you can spend the days when you don't feel like leaving. You can:
– sit or lie on the terrace or on a bench by a large pond with a book, your favorite music in headphones or with thoughts of blue almonds in your head,
- bathe or swim in a small swimming pond filled with water from a mountain stream, or simply relax on a wooden jetty with your head in the clouds and your feet in the water,
– stare at the mountain peaks and the pond located on the plot,
– run barefoot in the meadow, walk in the garden and explore the forest that starts behind the house,
– in late summer and autumn, collect mushrooms from the lawn and bring them from the forest,
– watch animals coming out of the forest and look for their traces,
– in the evenings, light a fire and sit under the stars until they go out.
However, if you want to experience something more, we have a few recommendations for you.
– For the first trip, we recommend Jeleni Skok, also known as Mochnaczka (777 m above sea level). At the top there is an observation tower where you can admire the views of the villages and hills. There are two routes to the summit, so you can make a loop. One of them is the historical and nature trail "Nad Sztolniu", which commemorates the "Róża" adit operating in these areas in the 1990s and belonging to the Fredro family. Iron ore was mined there for the local steelworks.
– Strzebowiska, visible from the observation tower, is called the most beautiful village in the Bieszczady Mountains. They are located on the northern slope of Jasło. The houses are scattered over several kilometers. While walking around this area, you will come across herds of horses.
– You can reach the black trail running to the top of Łopiennik through the forest right behind the house (officially the trail starts in the village near the old Orthodox church).
– The red trail will lead you to the non-existent village of Łopienka with a restored Orthodox church.
– On the way, you will pass the Sine Wiry nature reserve, running along the Solinka and Wetlinka basins, with two scenic paths: Sine Wiry and Sine Wiry II. They are heavily frequented during the season. Here you will see interesting rock formations on the river and a linden tree, which, due to its shape, is called the Moose of Zawoju.
– These regions are also the historical path of the Bieszczady Rediscovered Mountains, with a route leading along the Wetlinka River, through the areas of the non-existent villages of Jaworzec, Łuh and Zawój. Along the way, you will encounter old orchards and Orthodox churches being restored to life, as well as other traces of the former inhabitants' presence; along the route you will find information boards describing the history of these areas.
– You can come to us with bicycles or rent them in Dołżyca or Cisna. Some suggestions for two wheels:
* Singletrack pod Honem is a 13-kilometer route leading to the summit of Hon (820 m above sea level),
* the Sine Wiry path leading along the Solinka and Wetlinka basins, running through the Sine Wiry reserve,
* Roztoki Górne - Solinka route, running at the foot of the Hyrlatej range.
– The Bieszczady Narrow Gauge Railway starts from the main station in Majdan (5 km from us). You can go on an approximately 3-hour trip towards Przysłupia (there and back) or on a 2-hour trip to Balnica (there and back).
– And to the mountains? The possibilities here are endless. You can go to the pastures: Połonina Wetlińska with Roh (1255 m above sea level), Smerek (1222 m above sea level), Jasło (1153 m above sea level), climb Wołosań with 1071 m above sea level. (this is a part of the main Carpathian tourist trail, leading from Komańcza to the High Bieszczady Mountains), take the trail to Małe Jasło (1,102 m above sea level), Szczawnik and Jasło (1,153 m above sea level), and then to Okrąglik, offering a panorama of the Slovak side. It is also worth going to Jaworzec and visiting the shepherd's hut.
We will be happy to tell you about all the attractions.
