We are in the buffer zone of the Babia Góra National Park. Maps are sometimes awry here, deer and foxes give inconsistent directions, and the "no traffic" sign can raise doubts. But the further into the forest, the closer we are. Just a few turns of disbelief, two clearings of doubt "we must have taken a wrong turn" and finally there are three houses in the third clearing. Park your car well - there is a chance that you will not use it for the trip. But why waste time looking for the keys when there are 100 steps to the trail? It will take you to pancakes with whipped cream in Markowe Szczawiny or even further, to Babia itself. And if you are drawn to the west, pull your bikes with you - Slovak routes on Modralova are best explored from the height of the saddle.

Before I gain momentum in talking about the local attractions, I will tell you about the accommodation itself. Slow Life near Babia Góra consists of three houses, each for 9 people. For now, only one of them is fully ready to host. If you come in the company of personal Robert Makłowicz, so you want to feed yourself - the kitchen is at your disposal. However, I can prepare half or full board for those who are willing, using the helping hands of the housewives from Zawoja. Just let me know. Also remember that we are all guests of nature here. I care very much about the segregation of garbage and I ask you to do the same. The Internet is running like deer outside the window, so I encourage small teams to move the office to the Babia Góra terrace.

The house has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with showers, a terrace, a living room with a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen.

Next to the house there are two more - identical, several dozen meters apart, but not available to guests for the time being. The road is regularly cleared of snow in winter, but I recommend putting chains in the trunk.

Food to choose from - it can be on your side or partly / entirely on mine. Me or friendly ladies from the area will bring you, for example, dumplings, stuffed cabbage or lasagne. I will also be happy to prepare local breakfast baskets from delicacies found at the market in Zawoja (there are outstanding cheeses, jams, honeys, eggs, real cold meats).

Just say what you need when booking. Everything can be arranged.

The vicinity of the Babia Góra National Park provides a large number of ideas for spending free time. There are countless paths here, although if we summarize the length of the trails, we will have 53 km of possibilities. And it's only on foot, because Babia Góra Trails adds another 20 km of bicycle options. For cycling, I also recommend singletracks on the Slovak side - Modralova and Tabakovy pavement.

Less than 2 km from the house there is a ski lift at Wojtek - with a small and a large lift. Mosorny Groń awaits you another 5 km away. At both, there are equipment rentals and schools with instructors.

A very picturesque place is the hamlet of Zawoja - Zawoja Wełcza - with numerous wooden houses, which they have seen many times in their lives. Along the way, it is worth stopping at Hala Barankowa, where sheep graze from May to October. In the local shepherd's hut you can sometimes get oscypek cheese. And even if you get by with the taste, you can still admire the amazing views. You can also choose waterfalls as the destination of your hike - the Roztoki waterfall and the Mosorne waterfall.

Babia Góra delights at any time of the year, but on nice weekends it is difficult to find a moment of solitude there. You will find this one heading towards Mędralova or even further, to Głuchaczki. There are also large scenic spaces in Hala Kamiński and Hala Krupowa. On the second one there is a PTTK shelter with an amazing terrace and a view of the Tatra Mountains. Unfortunately, the hostel kitchen has not been admired for years, so instead of a full lunch option, it's safer to have a piece of apple pie.

From the less "walked" attractions, I recommend visiting open-air museums and the very picturesque Orawa Ethnographic Park. It is worth taking a look at current events, whether during your stay, for example, pluckers (traditional tearing of feathers), meetings with Orava cuisine or workshops on shepherd culture are not taking place.

The house does not have any special facilities for children, but the area provides a lot of attractions in the form of mountain trails, ski lifts or activities in open-air museums. The road leading to the house is a forest road, rarely used, so the kids can safely use the space around.

The house is spacious with fast internet. I can prepare meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner, so you don't have to spend time over the pots. Keep in mind the layout of the bedroom and beds - some are double.
