First there were camomiles. Their whole carpet, such that you waded in chamomiles and forgot about all the Very Serious Matters: jobs, asaps, loans and checking e-mails. Mom brought us to this field and said that if we wanted it, she would prescribe it for us. we wanted. Then there was a view of the peaks of the Makowski Beskids and we knew that the face of our house would be turned towards them. So that in the morning you can eat breakfast on the terrace and just watch. Stare shamelessly, without distractions (the nearest buildings are 800 meters away) and until the moment when the nervous system repays you with relaxed shoulders and a light head. After a few days started in this way, you do not need to brew chamomile for a long time. There was a house at the end. We knew it would be made of logs, refined and simply ours. In accordance with the highlander tradition, we equipped it with a carved pine tree, so that it was known that it was Lidia and Piotr who built it.

The house is happily located 45 km from Krakow and will host you with what we have the best here in southern Lesser Poland. We will start with my bread and cake and this will be a prelude to the homemade breakfasts I will serve you here. Let me leave the rest to you. It is up to you to decide whether you will spend the whole day reading in a hammock and walking in the meadows, or whether you will decide to learn about the history of Babia Góra from the beginning of the 19th and 20th centuries. You will experience it in the open-air museum on Markowa Rola or in the Museum of Folk Culture in Sidzin. If someone has a sport in their soul, so be it - go ahead. You can go on a bike, ski, sail on Lake Mucharskie or explore our Beskid from the saddle. We cordially invite you to all this. We are for Cracovians who are thirsty for breath and those from afar who can visit Krakow, but prefer to return to the countryside for the night. For those dreaming of space, wanting the sky and those for whom "uphill" sounds like the best plan, it is not an obstacle.

We are in the Beskid Makowski Mountains, 45 km from Krakow. Isolated, near the forest, on an unfenced plot. There is plenty of space around. It is true that our land is part of the village of Bieńkówka, but there are no neighbors nearby, the nearest buildings are about 800 m away. Nothing will stop you from enjoying the mountain panorama. Especially in the morning! If you stay in the main bedroom with a view of the Beskid Mountains, you may not want to get out of bed for a very long time. Let's not say we didn't warn you. There is a brine graduation tower in the gazebo, which has therapeutic inhalation properties. it's like a home sanatorium :)

Our highland log house, perfect for a group or a family holiday, has:

There is a well-equipped kitchen waiting for you in the house, with everything: oven, dishwasher and coffee machine. You cook there with a view of the forest and mountains, so it's more than nice.

Here, next door, you can buy tasty local products, e.g. sausages, oscypek cheese or eggs from my mother. If you would like them, let me know and I will share my secrets.

If we were to say what is best about us, beautiful views, peace and nature would come first. These are enough pleasant circumstances for overstimulated senses and frayed nerves. If you add the mountains, water and the local folklore around you, an idea for a holiday is born, after which you can return to everyday life relaxed and inspired. Our guests say that 1 day here is enough to restore the factory settings.

Perhaps you just want to stay here for a few days and enjoy the charm of the house and the surrounding area. We already tell you what we can do:
– eat delicious breakfasts on the terrace with a view,
- use the jacuzzi (additional fee),
– read books while lying in the grass, on a deckchair or in a hammock,
– lie down on the couch and watch TV series,
- play badminton,
– go sledding in winter,
– spend winter evenings by the fireplace,
– go for a walk in the nearby forest,
– have a barbecue or bonfire in the afternoons and evenings.

And in the closer or further area we recommend:

– Taking advantage of the mountain surroundings of the Beskid Makowski Mountains – we are a great base for the trail. The route to Koskowa Góra begins in Żarnówka. On sunny, cloudless days, there is a view of the Tatra Mountains, the Babia Góra range, the Gorce Mountains and Kraków. The picturesque routes of the Babiogórski National Park are also open to you.

– Maybe on a horse? There is a stud farm on Makowska Góra (10 km from here), which we recommend. You can take driving lessons or, if you are an advanced rider, go off-road riding. There is a pony ride for children.

– In winter, you know: skiing! We may not be two steps to the slopes, but several are within reach of a short car trip. We can recommend:
· Szklana Góra ski lift (Harbutowice) 15 km from here (15 min by car),
· Mosorny Groń ski lift (Zawoja) 36 km from here (30 min by car)
· Wojtek ski lift (Zawoja) 36 km from here (30 min by car) – great for beginner skiers, it has 2 T-bar lifts: 150 m and 410 m.

– A trip to Lake Mucharskie with the dam in Świnna Poręba. You can only swim in designated places, but what you can definitely do safely and with satisfaction is to go on a boat trip. Cruises start and end in the Jaszczurowa port and on weekends their frequency is higher than during the week - check the start times online and book your ticket in advance. You can also ride a boat or bike on the lake.

– Those hungry for ethnographic knowledge should visit the J. Żak PTTK open-air museum in Zawoja Markowa on Markowa Rola (40 minutes from here) – you will see here an exhibition devoted to Babiogórze tourism and the traditional construction of Babiogórcy from the 19th and early 19th century. 20th century. Also 40 min. The Museum of Folk Culture in Sidzin is located right next to us - here you will also learn how people lived under Babia Góra years ago. The open-air museum is picturesquely located, by the Kamycko stream, and in addition to seeing historic log cottages, you can also take part in interesting workshops, e.g. baking pancakes on a baking tray, baking bread or composing herbal mixtures.

– We don't have to mention that Kraków is 40 km away. If you are coming from distant parts of Poland, you may be tempted by a trip to the capital of the region, and there are plenty of attractions there: from numerous galleries, museums and theaters, through wonderful architecture, to a multitude of restaurants and cafes worth checking out.

– In August, as part of the Beskid Culture Week, a folklore festival takes place in Maków Podhalański – one of the largest festivals of this type in Poland! In addition to listening to folk music concerts, you can see the works of local artists and learn about the traditional rituals of the area.

My husband sometimes says that this house is probably for children, not for adults. I know how it is with the kids and what it takes for them to have fun on vacation, so I tried to think of everything. Outside, they can safely use the playground, and in the summer, if you ask, we will set up an inflatable pool. There are books, toys, crayons, coloring books and board games. In winter, we have prima sort conditions for sledging right next to the house - you can even learn to ski there fruitfully! Sleds are provided.

We also took care of full equipment for babies, so feel free to come to us with the youngest adepts of the art of slow life. Just let them know in advance that, for example, a cot or a baby bath will be needed. Then I will prepare everything for you.

We may be in the middle of nowhere, but the internet is rocketing here, even better than in our own home. You can work from anywhere, even from the terrace. From the stands, we can offer a table or just a table and armchairs on the terrace. But if you give us a word that we could use a desk, we can arrange everything, and we will put it in the cottage.
