If you are wondering where the end of the world is, we will tell you that Kunkowa in the Low Beskids is quite a clue. When you pass the misleading sign for Leszczyna, which is actually in Kunkowa, and don't be fooled by the seemingly dead-end street next to the Orthodox church, you will surely come to us. To us, it means - a family agritourism that cares not only about a good climate, but also about a high standard. Our efforts were appreciated and we took 1st place in the Tourist Treasures of Małopolska 2023 competition, and the Małopolska Agricultural Advisory Center awarded us 2nd place in the plebiscite for the best agritourism. However, we do not stop and constantly create new amenities for our guests. Nature took care of the surroundings: forests, mountains, a river flowing below and a minimal concentration of neighbors per square kilometer. In addition, beautiful views from the terraces and trails with blackthorn fruit that grow on the hills. We added: a hot tub among the trees, a summer swimming pool and, above all, unforgettable Sauna Night Ceremonies. Under the guidance of Wojtek and other certified sauna masters, you will learn the secrets of proper sauna bathing and relax in fragrant essential oils. In our sauna overlooking the river, you will feel that it is not only great entertainment, but also art. We warmly welcome you.
At Tarninowe Wzgórze, you can relax in one of three large apartments or one of two intimate rooms. Each has its own balcony or terrace, offering views of the green slopes of the Beskid Niski Mountains.
The house's common areas include a large hall where meals are served, and a terrace with tables and chairs, offering a beautiful view of the surrounding area. There's also a children's corner with toys and games. A PlayStation is available for gaming enthusiasts. Comfortable armchairs offer a place to read books from our library. The room is also suitable for lectures and conferences, and a projector is available. Outside, in the well-kept garden, you can spend time together by the pool (heated in the summer), under the barbecue shelter, or in the sauna, where sauna nights are led every weekend by qualified sauna masters. We also have a volleyball court and a soccer field.
Good news for large groups: our house, which can accommodate up to 35 people, can also be rented exclusively. It's a great option for celebrating a family event, a friends' reunion, or a team-building retreat.
We are surrounded by forests, with the Przysłupianka River flowing below, and we have almost no neighbors (the nearest, of which only a few, are 300 meters away). This is our own little corner of the world in Kunkowa, and for the local community, in Leszczyny, because just a few years ago, it was Leszczyny.
You will always get a delicious buffet breakfast, available for an additional fee. We buy white cheese, eggs, butter, milk, goat cheese (depending on availability) from local hosts. We also bake our own bread.
As for lunches and dinners, we prepare them only for groups that rent the house in its entirety. Then, Madzia's mother reigns in the kitchen. She cooks home-cooked and takes into account your organizational needs - you can agree on what time the meals will be served.
The apartments (W Strony Słońca, W Strony Las and Anielski) have well-equipped kitchenettes, where you can cook yourself. The rooms (Sielski and Leszczynowy) do not have their own kitchens, but you will find cutlery, plates, cups, coffee and tea and glasses in them.
The grilling hut in the forest allows you to feast until dawn. The fireplace made by Magda's father makes it easy to grill and prepare meals. It is possible to make soup in a cast iron pot or a casserole in a cauldron on a separate fire.
Let's be honest: Tarninowe Wzgórze is wonderful for a family vacation. Both parents and children will find something for themselves here, and the comfortable, spacious apartments create a comfortable environment for relaxation together. Couples who don't mind the proximity of the building but appreciate the well-thought-out infrastructure, pleasant standard with additional attractions, and proximity to hiking trails will also find a home here.
SAUNA
The biggest attraction of our place, besides the beautiful, secluded surroundings and comfortable conditions, is our sauna, which is paired with a high sauna culture. We belong to the Polish Sauna Association, and Wojtek is a certified sauna master.
Every Saturday (from September to June), we host Sauna Night Ceremonies. Our team consists of seven sauna masters who prepare unforgettable experiences for our guests. A sauna night is true relaxation combined with a show. It is accompanied by music, the beautiful scents of natural essential oils, snacks in the relaxation area, and tips on how to properly sauna. From 7:00 PM to midnight, we enter the sauna five times, and during breaks, we relax in the cozy relaxation area, enjoying prepared snacks and fruit. The cost of participation in Sauna Night is 160 PLN per person (the sauna seats 12 people). We organize exclusive ceremonies for individual groups (1600 PLN for the entire session).
We also have a hot tub with a jacuzzi in the forest at your disposal. You can spend an atmospheric evening there surrounded by candlelight and moonlight. A separate tank with cold water is available for cooling off. The cost of a session is 550 PLN for the first session and 250 PLN for each subsequent evening.
There are picturesque hiking and biking trails in the immediate vicinity. Importantly, some are also easy – after all, this is the Low Beskids. Therefore, both are also great for trips with kids.
If you love cycling, check out the Multicultural Cycling Trail. It leads from the Wysowska Pass through Blechnarka (a tourist border crossing with Slovakia), and then along the route: Wysowa-Zdrój – Hańczowa – Stawisze – Śnietnica – Brunary – Florynka – Wawrzka – Podchełmie – Grybów – Siołkowa – Stróże – Polna – Szalowa – Wilczyska – Jeżów – Bobowa – Sędziszowa.
We have 18 Giant mountain bikes in various sizes at your disposal. Helmets and child seats are also available. For the youngest bike enthusiasts, we have a 2-person Thule bike trailer. Bike rental costs 70 PLN/day.
Klimkówka Reservoir
You can reach Klimkówka, a reservoir created on the Ropa River, in 15 minutes. It's truly worth the trip, as the reservoir is picturesquely situated among forested hills. It's also not overly crowded, even in high season. You can rent a kayak or pedal boat here, try kitesurfing or windsurfing, or go fishing.
In Regietów, 16 km from here, you'll find the "Gładyszów" Hutsul Stud Farm, the largest stud farm in the Hutsul region in Europe. This stud farm produced the horses featured in films like "With Fire and Sword" and "Pan Wołodyjowski." An educational trail opened in October 24, and you can access it just steps from our house.
We have two little rascals ourselves, so we know what families travelling with children need. In addition to the play area in the gym and the playground outside (the mud kitchen is our favourite spot), we have travel cots with bedding, high chairs, bathtubs, potties and platforms for the youngest.
Outside, there is a heated swimming pool available from May to October, where children can run wild under the watchful eye of their parents. In turn, the Przysłupianka River flowing below is an ideal river to spend time with your little ones in the summer – the water only reaches your ankles. Children can also use the climbing wall, football pitch or volleyball court. In winter, we offer hay bag madness and building an igloo in the garden.
In principle, you can work here. We recently got fiber optics, so work is possible, but let's agree that's not why you're coming here :) You'll find a workspace in a large common room, where we serve breakfast in the morning. Important: this is also the only place where you'll catch a phone signal! There's no signal outside or in the rooms.
