Apparently, every journey begins with a state that could be described as choking on space. Following this lead, you will make a lot of these trips in the Giant Mountains, and if you insist, even several a day. Because in the Giant Mountains, space surprises at every other turn, stopping hikers in mid-step and teasingly blowing up their jackets. The trails run along flat peaks with a panorama of more than 360 degrees. They look into abandoned adits, castles overlooking Cistercian ponds, raven rocks and witches' paths. Here, a 6-hour hike in constant delight is a real dream. As long as you know where to go. And we know and we will gladly show you the direction.
Twenty years ago, no one had heard of the charms of the "house in the Karkonosze Mountains". Anyway, I don't think it would stop us. Uprooted from the lowlands, we faced a real challenge. We fought not only with the elements - then we experienced for the first time what real winter means - but also with the prolonged renovation. We bow our heads to family and friends here, because everyone who could help us. Since then, our 7-room Villa welcomes guests of all professions, ages and races. We are visited by soloists, couples, families with children, yorkies and sheepdogs. We will find a place for you too, sharing a sauna, a garden, an unusual greenhouse and a kitchen for self-cooking.
Grab a moment by the mane, comfortable shoes in hand and come. We are waiting in Karpacz.
We invite you to our intimate guest house with seven rooms for 2, 3 and 4 people. There are bathrooms in all of them - but you can't enter them with the whole family at once, we warn you in advance. Some rooms have a balcony or terrace.
We have prepared a lot of common areas for you - a kitchen with a dining room, a garden, a reading corner with a library, an atmospheric greenhouse and a sauna. The area itself is calm, green and quiet. You can walk to the center of Karpacz in about 20-25 minutes, while hiking trails to the mountains start 200 meters from us.
We do not offer you meals, but we provide a shared kitchen and dining room. We are a bit off the beaten track of Karpacz, but there are restaurants worth visiting within a short walk. Some offer door-to-door delivery if you don't feel like/able to go on a little culinary trip.
We also recommend visiting the Saturday farmer's market in Siedlęcin, grabbing a loaf of bread from the bakery in Podgórzyn (old recipes and wood-fired ovens) and tasting Łomnica cheese. And, of course, hot chocolate or apple pie in at least one Karkonosze shelter on the trail.
We will start with the basic issue - below we give you only a general overview of the Krkonoše possibilities. We are there, always willing to help and provide inspiration for spending free time. Take bicycles, skis, boards, and if you are traveling with a dog - also comfortable harnesses. Adventure awaits!
In the villa itself you can:
#1 take a nap in a hammock
#2 use the sauna
#3 hide in the greenhouse
#4 read books from our library
#5 talk to other guests (shared kitchen is conducive to nice contacts)
Ideas for close trips:
#1 walk to the Grabowiec hill - on the top of the hill there is a chapel of St. Anna with an altar moved from Śnieżka. Right next to it there is a spring from which water, according to legends, was supposed to ensure happiness in love. However, this is not the end of local curiosities. On the hill, traces of the cult center of the old Slavs were discovered, and the Pan rock is considered a "place of power" and the so-called. Karkonosze chakra. The Witches Path leads to it. Regardless of faith, it is worth going there, at least for the view alone. You can add to the walking list the local ruins of the Bergfriedenbaude mountain shelter, burnt down in 1992, with a wild orchard, and an adit carved in the rock. Hungry? Drop by in Grabowiec for homemade food at the Inn at Dobry Źródle.
#2 sunset from Raven Rocks - within a 15-minute walk there is a very picturesque and easily accessible group of rocks, from which there is a wonderful view of the Karkonosze Mountains. A very nice route for a quick sunset.
#3 Sosnówka Lagoon - 8 km from the villa you can catch great views with water in the foreground and the Karkonosze Mountains in the background. By the way, take a look at the castle of Prince Henry rising above the lagoon. The post-Cistercian Podgórzyńskie Ponds also start nearby. You can try the local fish in the nice Aquaculture restaurant.
Ideas for slightly further trips:
#1, of course, hiking to Śnieżka - you can climb the highest peak of the Karkonosze Mountains without moving the car, straight from the house. Such a loop is several kilometers and several hours of walking. For those who are ambitious and hungry for views, we recommend taking a bus to Szklarska Poręba (about 45 minutes' drive), taking the lift to Szrenica, another 6 hours of continuous admiration for the views around you, and then descending from Kopa.
#2 Rudawy Landscape Park - here you will find colorful lakes, monuments, views of the Karkonosze Mountains, rocks with shapes worthy of Picasso's imagination and even more fanciful names (e.g. Horses of the Apocalypse).
#3 Bóbr Valley Landscape Park - for half a day or even the whole day you can jump to Lake Pilchowickie with a huge dam and a railway bridge that was supposed to be blown up by Tom Cruise.
