It used to be like this: they called us and announced that the president was coming. Which one exactly, we'll tell you over the wine. It was a top secret - no one in the area could know that anything was going to happen here. We prepared the rooms, planned the menu, and, sworn to secrecy, we waited. Until one day a helicopter came here, caused a ruckus and all the residents of the nearby houses knew that something was going on here. We still laugh about this discreet story to this day. All we know is that the head of state left us rested and with a calm head.
The paradox of Villa Nova is that we will welcome you here in a presidential manner and at the same time as friends. Because we are supposed to be a boutique hotel, but we have a really family atmosphere. We wanted to save the old German estate standing here, but its foundations would not withstand renovation. In its place, a new building was built, in the Sudetes type, with a characteristic flat roof and doors exactly in the place of the former house. However, they say that our hotel looks like a Tuscan villa, and it is true: here we live la vita lenta - we celebrate unhurried and good life. In the evenings we drink wine with our guests, we love getting to know each other and helping you organize a beautiful time in the Jelenia Góra Valley. We really know a lot about where to go on a trip and what can be omitted (although there are few such points on the Lower Silesian list). However, if you don't feel like choosing, we encourage you to take advantage of the hotel's charms. Flowers, music, smells, and good food are no less important here than an unforgettable view of the Karkonosze Mountains. Just please don't come by helicopter. Peace and quiet are our priority.
Villa Nova is located on a hillside in Czarne, on the outskirts of Jelenia Góra. Behind us is a meadow and a forest, before us are fields and suburbs, and around space, greenery and mountains. And sometimes it's hard to believe that we are only 6 km from the old town of Jelenia Góra.
The picturesquely located hotel building has 10 rooms, so far you can choose from 4 at Slowhop. They differ in size and location in the building.
Interiors and their atmosphere play an important role in our residence. Perfected by Mrs. Ewa, the owner, passionate about the art of decorating, they charm with a combination of simplicity and subdued colors with baroque accessories. Natural materials are combined with richly decorated mirror frames, there are paintings and graphics in the rooms, and an extensive library in the hall.
Time is spent beautifully here on the terrace with a view of the surrounding hills and in our cozy living room with a fireplace corner, where you will spend many evenings enjoying the pleasures.
Although our guests say that we have the atmosphere of a Tuscan villa, we will serve you Polish cuisine - one of the highest quality. We focus on local products, we choose those that are bio and eco.
A varied and fresh breakfast will be served in the form of a buffet. There will be cheese, meat and fish. In spring and summer you will find seasonal vegetables and fruits on the table, but in the off-season pickles and preserves. There will also be something hot: sausages or scrambled eggs, and for a dessert after breakfast, with coffee - pancakes.
Half board includes an appetizer, soup, main course and dessert. Everything fresh, homemade. We serve, for example, delicious veal stew or dumplings. If you would like to eat vegetarian or vegan, we will also have something to offer you, just let us know in advance that this is the option you are interested in.
We can't forget about the wine either. We are connoisseurs of good wine. We have a rich cellar, supplies from which we will treat you - evenings with a glass, on the terrace or in the warm light of our living room, are among the most liked by guests.
Ladies and gentlemen, has anyone ever been bored in Lower Silesia? Only the most determined. Of course, we also invite them to visit us - with full conviction that they will not be disappointed. With us, without doing anything special, you can simply enjoy life. Taste delicious cuisine, sip good wine, enjoy the views around. Enjoy the atmosphere of this place. Spend afternoons with a book on the terrace or on the grass, talk in the evenings by the fireplace, go for walks around the neighborhood.
For some it is enough, others are warmly encouraged to expand the range of activities and take advantage of our wonderful location.
An important thing: we have been working in tourism for years, and the promotion of our region is in our blood. You probably won't stop us from selling you recommendations regarding sights worth visiting, the best trails, the most beautiful viewpoints. Ask for everything. We have knowledge that we want to share, and we will be happy to help you plan your days here so that you can spend them as fully as possible. Below are just some of the rich possibilities.
Jelenia Gora
We are only 6 km from the Jelenia Góra market square and if you wish, you can even go there on foot. There is a lot to discover in Jelenia, there are beautiful monuments, interesting museums and interesting events. We throw passwords:
– a colorful market with pastel tenement houses, charming pubs and BWA in one of the side streets,
– Karkonosze Museum, where you will see an exhibition devoted to the history of the city, artistic glass, or look into the Jelenia Góra cottage from the turn of 18th and 19th centuries,
– the Baroque Garrison Church from the 18th century, modeled on a church in Stockholm, with rich interiors and interesting architecture,
– important events: the summer Festival of Street Theaters, the largest flea market in Poland: the Jelenia Góra Fair of Antiques and Oddities, the International Festival of Avant-Garde Theaters Pestka.
Museums
– Mysteries of the Karkonosze Mountains in Karpacz – an interactive exhibition during which you can learn about the legends of the Karkonosze Mountains and the fascinating history of the local lands – it will be a great adventure for children,
– Gerhart Hauptmann's house in Jagniątków - the house of the German Nobel Prize winner from 1912 houses not only a museum about his life, but also an interesting cultural and literary institution, and if that's not enough for you, be sure to visit this villa because of its amazing interiors covered with colorful frescoes.
Prince Henry's Castle
20 minutes After a car trip, there is a castle (actually a castle), which not only looks like a fairy tale, but also offers an amazing view of the panorama of the Karkonosze Mountains. A few years ago, he took it under his care and renovated it. Today for PLN 5 you can visit him. Open: May-October daily 10.00-17.00, October-April by reservation.
Miedzianka
Anyone who has read Filip Springer's reportage about a vanishing town knows the history of Miedzianka well. We encourage everyone else to read it, and in the meantime, visit the Miedzianka Brewery, where you can drink local beer on the terrace with a view.
Lucni bouda
It's already in the Czech Republic, but we guarantee that it's worth crossing the border and visiting this place. Luční bouda is the highest located (at 1410 m above sea level) brewery in the Czech Republic, connected to a hotel and restaurant. There used to be a mountain hut here. The views around are amazing.
We do not need to mention our mountain location and the fact that we welcome all mountain climbers with open arms. The coolest thing is that the possibilities when it comes to the degree of difficulty of the trails are virtually unlimited. Beginner walkers will be sent to Rudawy Janowickie, the slightly more advanced ones will be recommended to the Izerskie and Kaczawskie Mountains, and we will send keen hikers to the Karkonosze Mountains. We will recommend trails and tell you how to organize a trip.
The Valley of Palaces and Gardens of the Jeleniogórska Valley
It starts a few kilometers from here. On almost 100 km², there are about 30 castles, Renaissance mansions, Baroque palaces and residential towers. Some of them are just ruins, others are restored and ready to be explored. This is our Polish Loire Valley.
What’s there for children?
We love children! Feel free to come to us with your offspring. We organize kite flying for kids, because the field conditions are good for that. The same as for tobogganing, which we recommend in winter. By the summer, we will also have a playground with a sandpit. And it's safe - the area is fenced, you can let the kids play freely and watch them from time to time from the terrace. And whatever you need for babies, e.g. a cot or a bathtub, we will deliver it to your room.
What’s there for employees?
In our opinion, we are a good place to work – individual, not team work. It is quiet, calm, the rooms have desks or tables with armchairs. If there is no desk in your room, we will gladly provide it for you. Everything can be arranged. You can also work in the living room downstairs, and on warm days on the terrace, where the internet also reaches. The quality of our internet allows you to work freely, but without more advanced activities. So you will browse the website and send e-mails at ease, but making an appointment for a video call can be risky.
