At a glance
Welcome to Januszno – a charming village nestled in the heart of the Kozienicka Forest.
Although it doesn't rank among the most popular Masovian towns, it's here that we've found a peaceful and serene life, far from the hustle and bustle, yet still only a 1.5-hour drive from the capital.
In the shade of old alder trees, where crayfish were once fished, we built two straw and clay houses – one for us, the other for guests. We showed the doubters that it's possible. The bio-building idea was realized thanks to our determination, a brilliant architect, two truckloads of clay from Mr. Staś from a neighboring village, and straw collected from my parents' field. A team with pitchforks filled the impressive wooden frame with it, and a brave electrician hung the cables from the straw.
Today, you can stroke the rounded clay walls on the ground floor, enjoy meals by the fireplace for up to eight people, settle into one of the sofas upstairs, and after a rain, be surprised by the scent of the thatched roof.
A garden grows around you, fragrant with herbs, and blooms year-round. From the terrace, you can see a row of hydrangeas, and behind the house, a forest and a dirt road await, perfect for a stroll. This is a place made for catching your breath. Simply sit and be.

We are on-site, we give our guests space and intimacy, but we're always ready to help
It's great to see you here! It's Karolina and Mariusz. Together with our daughters – Antonina and Adelka – and two cats, we live on the outskirts of a Masovian village, in a house built of straw and clay. We built it in a place once called "mud" – in our hometown, where some people didn't believe it would work. We wanted a natural, healthy home surrounded by greenery and a peaceful life. This one, built as a trial run, proved a success, so we ultimately built two houses, and we decided to share the second one with you – "Where Marian Says Goodnight."
Before the clay houses were built, there was another one here – the wooden "U Marianny za piecem" (At Marianny's Behind the Scenes), which we moved into right after returning from the city. It was there that we fulfilled our first dream of a peaceful life in the countryside. The house is located 250 meters from the main settlement, and today we are offering it to you, so you can experience this idyllic peace.
Want to try it? We invite all those in need of solace, peace, and relaxation. We offer a wonderful indoor microclimate, greenhouse gazebos for rainy days, fragrant outdoor gardens full of treasures, and a forest right next door. Come visit us in Januszno!
