First I was a colonial shop, then a famous bakery, and finally a German farm. They call me a guest house now. I have blue shutters, a lake view and wings on the gate. When we first met, they thought it was haunted. It wasn't until later that they discovered a Jackdaw's nest in my chimney, which she liked to make a fuss of and start the day with loud discussions. Diversity was in the soul of the new hosts, which is why they created a different decor behind each door. So there is the Dressmaker's room with a mannequin, the Travel souvenir room with photographs of the English countryside or the Chess room in black and white colors. Since I consist of as many as four buildings, I fit in a common room full of games, a shared kitchen and a dining room. I like the dining room the most in the morning, when Asia serves breakfast. How much goodness in them! Smoked fish, pancakes, preserves from the orchard, sausages, cottage cheese ... After all, it's not proper to let you go hungry.
I have always lived in Masuria Garbate. Apparently, it is a bit like in Tuscany and a bit like in the Bieszczady Mountains. There are lakes, meadows, forests and gentle hills around. In spring, dandelion milk roads bloom, in summer you spend the whole day outside, in autumn I sometimes disappear behind the fog, and in winter I smell like gingerbread.
Unfortunately, I cannot accept your pets, because later my cat packs his bags and ostentatiously disappears for three days. But you - people small, big and kind to old houses - I invite you under my wings.
The House under the Wings consists of four buildings. You can get a little lost in this, so we'll explain. The main building is The White House, with blue shutters. There are three rooms on the first floor, the ground floor is occupied by a living room, dining room and kitchen for the exclusive use of the residents of these rooms. In the second building there is a Chess room and a larger apartment Souvenir from Travel. The third is the dining room and our private area where we live. And finally - the fourth building, i.e. a barn with a common room available to all guests.
French room - for 3 people ("White House")
With the most beautiful view of the lake. The rural motifs of Provence and Masuria merge here. In a light, bright style that pays homage to living in harmony with nature. Double bed, single bed.
dressmaker's room - for 3 people ("White House")
Inspired by the fashion of past centuries. With a beautiful view of the lake and the island. Old Singer machines form the basis of the sink and table, a collection of old irons on the windowsill, retro advertisements for sewing machines and French fashion catalogs on the walls. Retro mannequin - the lamp illuminates the evening darkness. Double bed, single bed.
Chess room - for 3 people (barn, building no. 2)
You will find black and white chessboard motifs, French influences, but also many photos of the surrounding, picturesque landscapes. The room includes a terrace leading to the garden. You are literally a few meters away from the kitchen shared with another room. Double bed, single bed.
Family room (barn, building no. 2)
The perfect solution for a larger family or 2 pairs of friends. 2 independent rooms are located on the exclusive floor of the building. There is also a private bathroom. Room No. 1 - double and single bed, Room No. 2 - 2 single beds.
Travel Souvenir apartment - for 7 people (barn, building no. 2)
It is a souvenir from our travels - those made and those remaining in the sphere of dreams. From an old traveling trunk, to graphics of the English countryside and many other places we have been able to visit. A trained eye will find the atmosphere of Tuscany and Anne of Green Gables' room here. Terrace and exit to the garden. Double bed, 3 single beds, sofa bed.
We have breakfast for volunteers. It's worth being willing, because we serve breakfasts made of regional ingredients in the form of Swedish buffets. You choose what you want, and you eat as much as you want. Breakfasts are always a bit different, but every day we serve something hot (scrambled eggs, sausages, frankfurters, pancakes, pancakes ...), plus salads, vegetables, preserves and preserves made from fruit from our orchard, cottage cheese, fish pastes or Masurian smoked fish .
All rooms have access to the kitchen. We will also be happy to recommend you proven places for dinner in the area.
If you are thinking about a holiday in Mazury Garbate, you probably already know that it is hard to get bored here. In our Dom pod Skrzydłami there is a public common room with a pool table, table football, ping-pong, books and board games. If you cross the country road, you will find yourself on a plot with private access to the lake. There is a gazebo, a place for a barbecue, a water bike and a boat. We also rent bikes free of charge.
We live in Dom pod Skrzydłami with you - if you need ideas for trips, we will be happy to share the best routes, e.g. over breakfast. Piotr is a history lover, so he will passionately tell you about the amazing past of Masuria.
