Waking up in the morning, relaxing green and blue is the only sight you'll see outside your window. If we were making a list of "10 reasons why you should come here", this would be the first. What else is waiting for you in our Giles Cottage? Two sun loungers under the trees, where it's pleasant to read a book or listen to podcasts (and completely forget about time and unfinished business). Morning yoga on the grass and cosy evenings by the barbecue. Twelve very calm and sweet horses who are never tired of new faces and hands. Local specialities at a nearby inn, including cold herring soup (Cibulinė) and a curd spread seasoned with garlic and caraway (Kastinys). A private jacuzzi on the covered terrace and the beach of Lake Plateliai a few hundred metres away.

If you have already put together the puzzle of your weekend/holiday stay, welcome to our rural homestead. Pack your swimwear, sunscreen and comfortable footwear - everything else is available on site. We are located in the heart of the Žemaitija National Park, on the right bank of the beautiful Lake Plateli.

The four-person house Gilė is one of the seven houses on the territory of the "Virš Ėuoloų" homestead. It is built close to the main buildings of the homestead, but you will have enough privacy while living there, as the cabin is surrounded by forest on three sides and separated from the nearest guest house by a fence.

On the first floor of the house, there is a kitchen corner, a sitting area, a folding table for two/four people and a double bed. When you go up the stairs to the attic, you will see two single beds - this can be a cozy corner for children to play and sleep. On cool evenings, you can additionally warm yourself by the fireplace (it is not necessary to create a fireplace yourself: the cabin is heated with the help of an air conditioner). You don't have to worry about bed linen, towels, firewood, grill and kitchen equipment: you will find it all on site. Suitable for living in all seasons.

The house is designed for those who want to escape from everyday life and enjoy peace, communication with nature and loved ones, participate in riding lessons or other camps organized by the Host.

The cabin has a kitchenette with a coffee machine, microwave, refrigerator and stove. Outside, near the cabins, there is a Kamado grill (extra charge), charcoal/firewood can be ordered on site. You can also have lunch or dinner in nearby cafes. Below is a list of our recommended locations.

You will have everything that Lithuanian nature can offer for relaxation:
- the fir tree of the Žemaitija National Park, which will protect your privacy and saturate the air with the smell of the forest;
- sunrises and sunsets at the beautiful Lake Plateliai;
- starry sky (did you know that Lithuania has one of the lowest levels of light pollution in the European Union?);
- the opportunity to spend a lot of time in the fresh air (a large terrace with a hot tub*, wooden garden beds and a private yard).

If you are looking for something else to do, we invite you to get acquainted with our horses and book riding lessons. If you feel good enough on horseback, we can organize a trip around the homestead or on the trails of the national park. We will advise you on how to rent paddle boards or bicycles, tell you what is good to visit in the vicinity.

* Hot tub with water jets is paid extra on site (see How much will I pay?).

We organize camps for children at the homestead, so we have a lot of experience working with children and doing exercises that spark their interest. For information about the camps, contact us by message. If you are not coming for the camp, but want to ensure an interesting time for the children, we will offer activities related to our horses (riding lessons, horse feeding and grooming, etc.). Depending on the age and desire of the children, it is possible to discover trips with bicycles, paddleboards or sledges (in winter), sand games on the beach or swimming.

The house ladder may not be suitable for children of preschool age to climb into the attic - we ask parents not to leave children unattended.
