Hi, we are contemporary popowianists, i.e. lovers of the popowo land. We write contemporaries, because already in the 1920s the club of popovarians was numerous and active. In 1929, Teodor Bursze designed the plan of the new Popowo Letnisko, a garden city, which was to serve Warsaw residents as a springboard from the capital rush. It is thanks to the architect's innovative idea that the layout of the small village on the edge of the Biała Forest is so unique. The central point of Popowo is a circular square, from which eight roads run radially, along which plots are located. In the 1930s, they were purchased by merchants from the most distant parts of Poland looking for clean air, rest in the bosom of nature, peace, quiet and access to rivers. At that time, the first, very few villas, a casino, sports grounds, a swimming pool on the Narew River and a power plant were also built. Well, a real spa and summer resort. Unfortunately, the development of the village was hampered by the outbreak of World War II, many buildings were destroyed, and after the war, the garden-city project was not resumed.
However, we still play green and praise Popowo Letnisko to friends and strangers. Our house reflecting nature is located at the fork of the Bug and Narew rivers, among pine and birch forests. You live here, as the name suggests, in a summer resort. You can come here alone or in pairs. Take a yoga mat, bicycle or collection of books. Be sure to take your pets and go. For forest aromatherapy, SUP swimming, evenings by the fireplace and barefoot walks on the litter.
Where do you mean? In the forest.
With a view of the trees, the scent of pine, pine cones underfoot, and neighbors like squirrels. Here, on the edge of the White Forest, in the Popowo forest, stand our four forest cabins: two ForRest Cabins and two ForRest Towers. Each is located on a separate, fenced plot, and each has its own unique atmosphere and its own little piece of the forest.
ForRest Cabins (separate profile) are two wooden cabins—ForRest Cabin 35 and ForRest Cabin 50—designed for quiet, soothing getaways for two. Both feature cozy interiors, fireplaces, terraces, and all the details that make time slow down. Cabin 35 offers an outdoor wood-burning bathtub, while Cabin 50 also offers a Forest Spa with a sauna.
ForRest Tower and ForRest Tower 2 are our signature designs—semi-detached houses with identical layouts, located on separate plots, separated by space and differing only in interior color schemes. Each has a ground floor with a living room, kitchen, and bathroom, and a mezzanine with a bedroom and a large window overlooking the treetops. Tower is ideal for two people (with the option of accommodating a third), while Tower 2 can accommodate up to four people. Both have a private Forest Spa: a sauna and an outdoor wood-burning hot tub.
Time flows differently here.
You can read books on the terrace, grill, stroll through the forest, work in silence, sit by the fireplace, or simply gaze at the trees. In winter, enjoy long walks, cross-country skiing, and hot tubs; in summer, enjoy hammocks, birdsong, and evening al fresco dinners.
🪵 Use of one attraction (hot tub or sauna) costs PLN 200 for the entire stay. Forest SPA package (tub + sauna) – 300 PLN for the entire stay, regardless of the number of days.
We provide wood – all you have to do is add it to the fire and immerse yourself in doing nothing.
Every plot is fenced, so dogs are welcome. We've provided a bed, a towel for your paws, a mat for their bowl, and a sofa protector for your pets. They'll feel just as comfortable in the forest as you do.
ForRest Cabins & ForRest Towers is a place where you can truly breathe, slow down, listen to the silence, and experience the forest with all your senses.
Bring a packed lunch, because even though it's beautiful and peaceful in the forest, if you crave a cake, oatmeal, or a baguette with butter, you won't be able to run to the store in your slippers.
The nearest store is 3.5 km away – you can walk, bike, or drive, but each option requires advance planning.
Fortunately, the cottage is very well equipped, so you'll have everything you need – just bring your favorite ingredients and settle in.
The kitchen is also fully equipped for cooking – you'll find:
a two-burner hob,
a small refrigerator,
a coffee maker and a coffee machine for ground coffee,
a toaster, a citrus juicer,
and a year-round grill.
If you're looking to savor local flavors, every Wednesday and Saturday, a farmers' market is held in nearby Serock, where you can buy vegetables, fruit, eggs, cheeses, cold cuts, and homemade preserves – just like at a proper market.
In Serock itself, you'll also find many excellent shops and restaurants where you can not only eat well but also buy delicious, homemade products – often available at the restaurant's shops.
On the edge of the White Forest, in the summer resort of Popowo, life is excellent.
Surrounded by pine trees, with essential oils in the air and the windbreak of tall trees, we effectively hide from the world. Here, 10,000 steps are effortless – the forest paths draw you in like a good book, leading to clearings, heather carpets, and blueberry bushes.
If laziness is your favorite activity, you've come to the right place. You can read books without guilt, sleep until noon, listen to the birdsong, and practice yoga on the terrace (bring your mats!).
But if you don't sit still – that's fine too! There are plenty of attractions just outside Warsaw:
🌲 White Forest – perfect for walking and running,
🚴♂️ a network of cycling routes through forests, meadows, and along the Narew River,
🚵♀️ road cycling – we have our proven GPS routes for you,
🐎 a horse farm nearby,
🛶 kayaking on the surrounding rivers,
🏄♂️ in summer – wild SUP expeditions on the Narew and Bug Rivers, with backpacks and sandwiches – without a guide, in the wild.
There's a kayak and boat rental shop 3 km from the cottage, so if you feel the call of the river, everything is within easy reach.
And if you don't have your own bikes, we can rent bikes upon prior arrangement and deliver them directly to the cottage.
Zegrze? We'd rather give it a wide berth – half of Warsaw is there. But the wild river sections, the Old Bug River, and Lake Przerwaniec (the former Wieprz River bed) won't disappoint.
And if you're looking for unique adventures, the Warsaw water tram runs to Serock (5-6 km from us), so – if you insist – you can reach us… by river!
Worth seeing:
– Stawinoga Nature Reserve – a paradise for ornithologists. Stone-curlews, corncrakes, common moorhens, green-footed crakes, water warblers, reed warblers, sedge warblers, penduline tits, sandpipers, snipes, black-tailed godwits… and other bird wonders.
– Szaniawski Gorge Reserve – you can get there by bike along the yellow Serocki Trail. On-site: an old park with the remains of the Szaniawski manor house. The author's house burned down seven years after his death, but the atmosphere of the place remains. – Łacha–Łacha Blue Trail (17.8 km) – a beautiful cycling route through forests and along rivers, accessible directly from Popowo.
We also collaborate with Mazovian Wildlife, which organizes hikes through the wild, hard-to-reach areas of the Bug River Valley, Lower Narew Valley, and White Forest – perfect for nature lovers. Details will be sent after booking.
It's a small cottage for two or the perfect spot for a solo, regenerative retreat.
Designed exclusively for adult guests – you come here for peace, quiet, and space all to yourself. Kids? This time, they stay home – well-cared for – and you have the luxury you don't have room for in everyday life: reading books, forest walks, catching up on sleep, a "no-brainer" workout, wine by the fireplace, and TV shows without interruptions.
Sounds a bit like a spa for young adults?
Exactly – only instead of peat, there are pine cones, and instead of a recreation room, there's a sauna and a hot tub. And instead of guests – you.
We have fast Starlink internet on site, so if you really need to get some work done, it won't be a problem. You can sit on the couch, at the dining table, or on the terrace with your laptop.
But be warned – these aren't places designed for remote work. Because honestly... it's best to just log out.
Leave your emails for later, listen to the forest, take a walk by the river, read a book, and remember what it's like to have nothing to do.
