Jump away from the Tri-City to find yourself in an hour on the Kashubian-Kociewie borderland, a forest cone's throw from Bory Tucholskie. In the shadow of the forest and the proximity of the lake, which you can walk around without meeting anyone. In Bartoszyles we have a dark wooden house with white plaster and sage accents. It was a ruin full of junk and furniture you don't want to keep at home. It cost us a bit of effort to transform it into a place that can charm you with the atmosphere straight from Pinterest, when you enter the password "cottage house" there. It is filled with items with a soul, restored antiques and accessories found on olx. You will find them in a cozy living room with a fireplace, a dining room with a large table, an open kitchen and 4 bedrooms for an 8-person team on the first floor. Although there is a lot of space and the house is 100 meters long, it is often chosen as an asylum by two couples or a couple who are on their way with peace of mind.
A moose is said to live in the area. The repair crew saw him when he was standing under our fence in the morning. We certainly have a friendly team of squirrels and birds living in boxes hung on trees. They perform concerts and fill the days with their singing. We also took care of many ways to escape from everyday life: a jacuzzi on the terrace, a living room that turns into a cinema room in the evenings, several tables for playing board games and sumptuous dinners, and a hammock for reading.
The magic of this place works like this: you arrive, open the car door and sigh. This is what you needed.
We welcome you on the Kashubian-Kociewie borderland, on the edge of the forest. Upon arrival, you will see a dark wooden house with white plaster and sage accents.
The house is 100 m² and has 4 bedrooms with double beds. Three of them have large double beds, in the fourth one the bed is single, but convertible to a double (this bedroom is smaller than the others). They are all located on the first floor, where there is also a toilet. On the ground floor are:
– a cozy living room with a fireplace, which can be turned into a cinema room thanks to the projector, there is also a bookshelf full of books and a comfortable footstool filled with board games,
– dining room with a large table connected to the living room,
– spacious kitchen,
- bathroom with shower.
We filled the interiors with eye-pleasing details, furniture that we gave a second life and carefully selected accessories that are responsible for cosiness (baskets, blankets, candles).
In front of the house there is a large terrace with sitting areas and a jacuzzi. We placed them on the side of the house that only has a view of the forest. On the other hand, we have neighbors - we are at the end of the road leading through a housing estate, mostly summer houses.
The house is surrounded by a well-kept garden full of birdhouses - a bird radio broadcasts here all day long. Squirrels also live on our plot. Your four-legged friends are welcome with us. Our plot is large and fenced. We transfer the fee for your dog's stay to the shelter.
Although we have always dreamed of a guesthouse, for now we are the hosts of the house exclusively and you will be able to cook for yourself in Odpocznia. We leave you with a well-equipped kitchen, which is just perfect for cooking and chatting over coffee. When we are in Odpocznia, we fill it with the smell of freshly baked cake or challah. try it!
A large table is in the dining room and under the roof on the terrace - choose your favorite to feast together.
We will share with you the directions to places where you can get fresh eggs, cheese and homemade cold cuts. During your stay in Odpocznia, go to the blueberry plantation in Konarzyn and Drewutnia for freshly caught fish. In summer it can be hard to get a table, but it's worth waiting for.
Officially, we are in Kashubia, but our village is the Kashubian-Kociewie borderland, and a bit further is the beginning of Bory Tucholskie. We have created Forest Springboard to take a breather and take a break from everyday life. We have an asylum here, where you can implement many leisure scenarios. You can:
– soak in the Jacuzzi on the terrace (all year round),
– arrange a movie screening in the living room – there is a projector, a comfortable sofa and a large pouf waiting there,
– spend evenings by the fireplace or by candlelight,
– organize board games (a set of games is waiting in a large pouf in the living room),
– read books from dawn or until morning – a bookshelf full of books is waiting,
– listen to bird concerts and sit on a bench from the closed train station in Swobowidz,
– pamper yourself in many ways – we leave you trays, candles and spaces to organize elegant dinners in the dining room and long, unhurried breakfasts on the terrace,
- Light the campfire.
If you would like to go into the field, listen to what Bartoszylesie and the surrounding area are saying.
Unhurried walks through the forest have therapeutic properties. Forest therapy affects the mind, body and immune system. The paths start right in front of the house and will lead you to forest passages, where you will sooner meet a deer than another human. The paths also lead through the fields - you can walk and bike here as much as you want (it's worth taking two wheels with you).
The surroundings are interspersed with lakes. . It is enough to climb the hill near the house to see the mid-forest lake Kozielnia from behind the trees, over which you will probably be completely alone. We have 200 meters to it through the forest. It has a peat substrate and greenish water color. It is very clean. A little further there is Lake Krąg - an area protected under the Natura 2000 program, where you can admire spring peat bogs and look for birds: sandpiper, sandpiper, sawyer, black woodpecker, field pipit or white warbler. There is a guarded swimming pool in Struga, which can be reached by car in 15 minutes. There is a sandy beach and a large pier with gazebos.
If you would like to learn something interesting and expand your knowledge, we recommend:
– Museum of the National Anthem in Będomin,
– Railway Museum in Kościerzyna,
– Museum of the Accordion in Kościerzyna.
There are 53 lakes in the Wdzydze Landscape Park, and about 100 smaller bodies of water called ponds. The heart of the park are four lakes, which are the Cross of the Wdzydze Lakes: Gołuń, Radolne, Wdzydze and Jelenie. There are 10 islands in total. Lake Wdzydze is called the Kashubian Sea. The entire complex of connected reservoirs is approx. 9 km along the east-west line, and 11 km along the north-south line. You can rent a boat and go sailing nearby. And if you are the owner of a drone, be sure to see the landscape from above.
In Wdzydze, in an 18th-century peasant cottage, Teodora and Izydor Gulgowscy founded the Kashubian Etnographer's Park in 1906 - the oldest open-air ethnographic museum in Poland, which on 22 hectares presents objects of regional architecture of Kashubia, Kociewie and Bory Tucholskie from the 17th-20th centuries. (you can see, among others, cottages, mansions, a school, a forge, inns, windmills, churches, farm buildings, a total of over 50 objects with authentic furnishings). The area is picturesquely situated on the shores of Lake Gołuń. Craft workshops (pottery, embroidery, making paper flowers) are often held there. In Wdzydze you can also climb the observation tower and look at the area from above.
Go to Juszki to admire the traditional architecture of the Kashubian village. The rural complex of the village has been entered into the register of monuments of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The new houses are maintained in the style of traditional regional architecture. As a result, the landscape is harmonious and the charming houses blend in with the surroundings.
The surrounding rivers - Wierzyca and Wda are great for kayaking.
From our springboard you can also jump to the Tri-City, from our home in Gdańsk we come here in an hour.
