At a glance
My mother dreamed of this house. No wonder. After eight years of living in the flat-as-a-pancake Netherlands, a Krakow resident, wanted to be closer to the mountains. She chose the Makowski Beskids, the Podbabiogórze region, and the then-untouristy hamlet of Polany Juszczyńskie. Nowadays, however, tourists are scarce here. My grandmother, a painter with a passion for architecture, helped design this house over 30 years ago, in the style of a Polish manor house. Inside, you can still admire my grandmother's oil paintings and the furniture she designed. We've been coming here as a family for years, and now I've refreshed the interiors, filling them with furniture I restored myself and family heirlooms, and I want to offer it to you. I hope you'll be enchanted by our house on the mountain pass, too.
Located in a foothill area, it's an extension of the Krakow backyard, usually avoided by tourists rushing (or stuck in traffic jams) to Zakopane. You can meet absolutely no one on the trail, climb Burdelowa Góra, eat pierogi with a view of the Tatra Mountains at the mountain hut on Hala Krupowa, listen to the roar of the Mosorny Potok waterfall, and experience a magical sunrise on Babia Góra. It's all uphill, but the views make up for the shortness of breath. Come and relax. Whether you're moving or not.
