Do you remember how you could cuddle up at your grandma's house and feel the warmth of the tiled stove? Our house is renovated, but in such a way that these flavors remain. We invite you to a former forester's lodge located in the middle of the forest. We know that many hosts say that their houses are in the forest. Ours is so far in the forest that it can't get any further. From the nearest village, which is the most vibrant manifestation of civilization in the area, you drive 5 km along a gravel road. We leave the renovated house for 6 people to you exclusively, with a guarantee that you will rest here like nowhere else.
PS I don't know how to take photos, so you have to take my word that it's much more beautiful here than in them. And although the stove wins the hearts of guests, we only use it in the autumn and winter season when necessary. Please remember this.
The house will accommodate you exclusively for up to 6 people. It has 3 rooms with double beds, a living room with a sofa and a table, a bathroom with a shower, a kitchen and a porch. It has a cosy, original atmosphere. You can count on neatness and cleanliness, which is very important to us.
On the fenced plot of 2000 m² there are old farm buildings, which we are not using for now. The entire space will be at your disposal.
We are located in a hamlet in the middle of the forest. Our mini forest village is very intimate. The hamlet is called Głuszyca for a reason. The place is secluded, quiet, absolutely peaceful. You can hear the sounds of the forest and the clucking of your neighbour's hens or the barking of her dog.
Stock up on groceries on the way and cook whatever you like in the atmospheric kitchen. Here, in the middle of the forest, you will rely on yourself for meals. What possibilities do you have! We have an induction cooker and a dishwasher, but... heating something on a tiled stove? Flatbreads like when you were a kid at grandma's? In the fall, you can pick mushrooms behind the fence - in September the forest is full of boletus mushrooms and in October bay boletes - and dry them using a special grate waiting in the kitchen.
We hunted down this tasty flatbread, which you can see in the photo above, at the Knights' Tournament in Kożuchów, which always takes place at the end of May.
Let's be honest: this is a house that is at the end of the world. Guests make big eyes when we welcome them :-) Next door are two neighbors' houses with whom you can exchange a nice word, and apart from that it will be just you and the FOREST.
The garden in the forest has an area of 2000 m² and on each of these meters you can forget about the whole world. We mow the grass sparsely, so you will probably be greeted by a meadow, where you can put your bare feet thirsty for a touch of dew in the morning. At a wooden table with benches you can eat breakfast or dinners prepared on the grill, and on a deckchair under a tree read a book.
We also have a summer kitchen made of red brick with a grill, a drying room for mushrooms and a fireplace for a cauldron.
Behind the house there is a gate leading directly to the forest, and in this forest you will most likely meet absolutely no one. The forests around are different: from mixed to pine forests with a low undergrowth with berry bushes. In autumn, however, the area is rich in mushrooms.
In the area (the nearest 12 km by bike) there are 3 lakes: Orchowe, Rudzieńskie and Sławskie. Around Orchowe there is a peat bog reserve, so you go there rather to admire them, but on Rudzieńskie you will be able to find a swimming area and a pier. Not far from Rudno there is an old German cemetery in the forest, which you can visit on the occasion. Lake Sławskie, the largest of them, is a slightly more touristic location. It is the largest lake in Lubuskie. Go to the “Ptasi Raj” viewpoint with a pier and the Joanna observation tower.
5 km from here runs an extraordinary bike route “Kolej na rower”, created… on the no. 371 railway line Żagań-Wolsztyn, which is no longer in use. The path consists of two sections: from Stypułów to Nowa Sól and the second from Nowa Sól to Sławocin. Its total length is almost 50 km. One of its most beautiful sections includes crossing the Oder on a historic railway bridge from 1908. It used to be the longest railway bridge in Europe!
You can go on a tour of the nearby historic towns. In the atmospheric, moated Kożuchów, it is a bit like time has stood still. You will see a 14th-century castle there, a charming old town and many beautiful historical buildings, such as a historic hospital. A trip to Nowa Sól (on the bicycle route) will be equally atmospheric. Also check out the ruins of the palace in Zatonie, open to visitors, and the Palace in Bojadła.
Or maybe a trip to Zielona Góra? You can visit the colorful old town, the charming Zatonie princely park with the ruins of the palace or the Kepler Science Center with a planetarium (one of three in the world, in which the position of the dome changes during the projection!). And did you know that there are several wineries in this city and its surroundings? That you can visit historic wine cellars and see a wine house from 1818? Zielona Góra is a must-see for lovers of enotourism.
Since I run a beauty salon, I can also offer you additional pleasures with a ride: a small SPA on call. You just have to let us know in advance that you would be interested in such a service (it is available for groups of at least 4 people). Then we pack up with a team and come to you with massage beds (and our magic hands). We can perform full-body massages or facial treatments: nourishing, moisturizing, reflexology, kobido or Japanese massage).
If you are interested in horse riding, the stud farm in Konotopa is located 5 km from here.
What’s there for children?
If you want to teach your children to distinguish mushrooms and the singing of a wagtail from a blackbird and show them what it is like to live in the forest for some time, take them on holiday to us. For the time being, you can change the house into a forester's lodge and pretend to be a family of gamekeepers. Take your wellies with you for long walks on damp litter and berry baskets!
What’s there for employees?
Our internet is in no hurry, so we wouldn't expect to break productivity records here. You can check your email, you can stay in touch with your boss, but that's it. However, we are working on the topic. We will try to strengthen our network connection soon. Our GSM range is sufficient - you can get it on the road or under an apple tree, so you can't count on talking on the phone. You can also watch the movie on Netflix.
