Florvåg Summer House | Bergen

We have a cottage for you in a quiet area of Askoy Island. A narrow asphalt road leads upwards, slowly climbing to the top of a rocky hill. Along the way, you will see typical Norwegian houses - in red and white - and gardens of local residents. Our house is white and consists of three bedrooms (each with a double bed), a common area with a sofa, kitchenette and panoramic window, one bathroom with shower and a room where you will find a washing machine and a clothes dryer. We have arranged additional space on the terrace - for shared breakfasts, working with a laptop or sunbathing (it can be really sunny in the summer!). We invite you for longer stays. The area is rich in hiking trails, Bergen is reachable by ferry or car in half an hour. In the cottage, we also made sure that you feel comfortable on weekly or longer trips: there are towels and bed linen for exchange, we have additional blankets and fans. In the rainy period, you will warm up with air conditioning, a cozy atmosphere will be created by a fireplace. If you are coming with more than 2 pets, we would like to know in advance. We are waiting guests for a minimum of 5 nights.

Do you like to cook? The surroundings are rich in fish, and there is a grill waiting in our yard. Fresh fish shops and a large fish market (fisketorget) can be found in Bergen (12 minutes by ferry), but there is also a chance to meet local fishermen. The nearest Kiwi store is 700 m away in the marina. There is also a Thai restaurant and a pizzeria. A larger shopping center is 2 km away, near the Kleppestø Bus Terminal.

Quoting local residents, Askoy is an ideal place to live: lots of green areas, beautiful views of the sea and fjords from the top, proximity to Bergen (20 minutes by car to the city center, similar ferry time), interesting hiking trails. If you go for a walk in the area, we recommend the direction of Langafjellet (approx. 15 minutes by car). Three marked trails of various lengths lead you through rocky hills and water bodies. Among them you will find the trail to Kolbeinsvarden - one of the most popular hiking trails on the island. The island of Askoy is small - crossing it by the main road from Florvag to the bridge to the island of Herdla is only 30 km away. World War II fortifications can still be seen on the miniature islands around. The most popular sightseeing spot is Herdla itself, as a former military airport and base of the German Luftwaffe. While in Bergen, we recommend starting with Brygge - a medieval wharf in the harbor district, known for its colorful wooden boat houses. Right next to the Floibanen mountain cable car, a quick trip for the lazy to the observation deck. An alternative route to the peaks surrounding the city is the Floyen Start trail, with a gentle slope, paved and illuminated at night.
