Where do Tricity residents go to unravel their thoughts and take a break from tourists? We don't know where the others are, but we found our quiet port at the junction of Kociewie and Kashubia. At the end of the small village of Liniewo, between two lakes and a forest behind a fence. This forest was a key criterion for us, because we love to walk, explore, we also happen to go jogging. And the surrounding numerous routes pamper us. But before you go to the beach (Kociewie has as many as 200 lakes), bike or explore, it's time for morning coffee with a view of the vegetable garden. After that, you can walk to Lake Garconek in two minutes, visit the National Anthem Museum or go down the Wierzyca River. On the way back, you will do some shopping in the village: delicious bread from a small bakery, honey from a beekeeper, meats and preserves from Mrs. Iwona, eggs from the nearest neighbor. That's how you live here. Slowly, without major plans, stress-free.
We built a house on the sunny slope of the plot. One small house on a large lot. The most comfortable will be for a 4-person group, but an additional guest can sleep on the sofa in the living room. When it comes to families with babies - you will be better off in a place more adapted to bubbles. Our Badziągówka is a house for families with independent children. For preschoolers and older children we have a trampoline, a swing suspended on a rake and an almost real horse Kruszynka with a real saddle. Don't forget to take your dogs on holiday - they are very welcome here.
There is a cottage in a large garden (3000m2). On a sunny plot, with a vegetable garden, places to relax, surrounded by forests. It is designed for 2-5 people. So it will be comfortable here for couples with a pet, but also for families with larger children (5+). The house has:
- hall,
- a cozy living room with a sofa bed connected to the dining room,
- kitchenette open to the living room,
- a bathroom with a shower,
- two bedrooms upstairs: one with a double bed and a desk, the other with two single beds,
- a large terrace.
In the garden there is:
- place for a bonfire,
- a place for a barbecue,
- swings,
- hammocks,
- trampoline,
- gardener's house (technical),
- vegetable garden (housekeeper).
The whole area is fenced, so you can safely come with your pets.
A fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal. I will also gladly treat you to a surplus of crops from the garden.
In the village you can buy everything local and tasty. The owners of the lake we go to (the lake is 2 minutes from us, Garconek) have their own chickens, so there are country eggs. And in the village Mrs. Iwona makes her own cold meats, preserves, you can also buy potatoes from her. On the way to the cottage, you can also stop by the beekeeper for honey.
In the village - about 3 km from us - there is a nice bakery, where you can also buy pizza or soup from 13:00. Ladies from Ukraine also make fresh dumplings. With various stuffings. We will give you contact information for all addresses.
Here everyone will find their favorite way to breathe. We are located on the border of Kociewie and Kashubia, so on the one hand we have access to 200 lakes, on the other to 500. And the nearest two (one not for public use) are a two-minute walk from Badziągówka. In winter and autumn, when the leaves fall from the trees, Lake Garconek can be seen from our plot. It is a private lake, but the owner allows us and our guests to freely enjoy the charms of sunbathing and swimming. You can even bring your pets here. Dog baths are also allowed.
If you want to drive or approach a larger swimming pool with a pier and a beach, then head about 3 km to Garczyn to the Duże Lake. The lake is located in the Nature Reserve on the Big Lake, so we also recommend taking walks in the forests surrounding the lake. Three kilometers north of Iłownica, in Liniewo, there is another lake - Liniewskie, which borders on the long Sobąckie Lake. Our kids adore Lake Wygonin, which has an azure color thanks to its white sandy bottom and clean water.
In addition to lake swimming, we recommend walking. Behind the fence there is a forest with fantastic walking, cycling and running routes.
You can also explore the area by geocaching. We tried it and we can recommend it to you, there are a lot of caches buried in the vicinity.
In addition, you can:
- Go rafting on the Wierzyca River,
- Discover the Wirta Arboretum. Forest Dendrological Garden,
- visit the Kashubian Ethnographic Park Museum in Wdzydze Kiszewskie,
- and the Museum of the National Anthem in Będomin,
- Go on a cruise on the Stolem ship in Wdzydze Kiszewskie in Kashubia,
- climb the observation tower in Wdzydze Kiszewskie, which is almost 36 meters high,
- Visit the Railway Museum in Kościerzyna, where you will see a hall for steam locomotives, exhibition halls, locomotives, steam locomotives, wagons and track equipment,
- Visit the Accordion Museum,
- Take a walk around the Wdzydze Landscape Park with the most famous lake in this region - Wdzydze - called the Kashubian Sea.
What’s there for children?
Families with slightly older children (5+) will feel best here. And this is for comfort reasons: we do not have bathtubs, cots, etc., and the bedrooms are only on the first floor. However, the only bathroom is on the ground floor. The terrace has a step and is not fenced, so children who are independent will be safe here. But you'd have to keep an eye on the little ones all the time.
For big and small we have a trampoline, swings and ropes suspended on a huge rake (a monkey grove where both Rafał and our children have a great time), a hammock. There is also a wooden horse, Kruszynka, which can be used to set off on a journey to the world of imagination. Kruszynka has a real saddle and even her own stable under the terrace of the house.
